Bosca 25W Solar Light: How To Get 12 Hours of Light at Night

- The following video shows my setup of the Bosca 25W Solar Lamp. This system consistently gave me 12-hours of light at night for more than a week now. The factors leading to this result are:
1. My units are good (no damage upon delivery)
2. I installed the system for maximum solar energy harvest at my location
3. I used only Auto and default brightness (level 5, out ot 9 distinct brightness)
4. Daily sunny weather
5. Most importantly, I charged the battery first for 3 straight sunny days before using it.
The reason for number 5 is that the system gave no clue for a full battery. So I just charged it first in the matter mentioned above. Since then I get consistent 6PM to 6AM light from it. I have yet to know how it will fare in rainy weather. But for now, January 2021, it's great!

Where can i bought original bosca light?
my solar panel of this is broken.. can this be replaced with 15w 18v solar panel? i have one extra being kept..
Thanks for watching. the Bosca solar panel in my video was rated at 7.2 volts DC max, open circuit voltage output and matched to the 25W solar light. If I were to replace it with an 18V solar panel, there would be a mismatch. The solar light would be exposed to over voltage from the 18V rated solar panel- a dangerous condition. I wouldn't do it. I might as well just buy a new, matched set.
11 months since you post, does your unit works 12 hours night time, is it a good brand. Thanks
My Bosca solar lights have been performing well, so far. During summer season when nights are shorter the light works around 10-11 hours. During rainy season nights are longer so they work between 11 to 12 hours. They have not malfunctioned in any way. I've been curious about other brands, but I stick with Bosca as it has not disappointed me yet.

bos, pag naka auto sya at sinet mo yung brightness halimbawa sa level 1. natatandaan nya yung setting sa level 1? o nagrereset tuwing mag on/off sya?
Sir based on my simulated test this morning (tinabunan ko ng black material ang solar panel to mimic night time) naalala ng solar light ang last manual low brightness setting. Basta full auto muna, then manually set to lowest brightness. Try mo din po sir para ma confirm.

my two 10w bosca floodlights slowly losses brightness (max) in less than an hour whether I set it it to Auto ON/OFF or manual mode. one of the units only have 2 levels of brightness - max and dim (not sure if it is the min).
Sorry to hear about it. Have you tried fully charging them for 3 days? If it still not performing as advertised, I hope you can claim warranty.

@@wonderboykun yes, that's what I did. In my video I mentioned there's no way to know if the light is already fully charged. So to be sure, I let it charge first for 3 straight days in sunshine without using it at night. Then on the evening of the third day, I turned it on full Auto. That's how I got 12 hours of light every night consistently since then. I also mentioned other contributing factors. Good luck!
@@ramschannelreviews i noticed that the red LED light stops blinking (steady ON) late in the day. It must be the indicator that it is fully charged?
@@wonderboykun my 25W and 40W lamps' red indicating light is always steady (never blinked) and will only turn off when the main lamp is ON. Mukhang iba po ang sa 10W ninyo. Just to clarify, I only did the initial 3-day charging once. After that, it's on full Auto na.

According to BOSCA instruction it's fully charge in 6 to 10 hours.
My question is do i have to removed the charger from the LED light everytime it is fully charge?

I don't know what charger you mean. My LED lights have always been connected at all times to their individual solar panels without any issues. Once I've installed them, I put them on Automatic and never again used the remote control. They just quitely perform their function without fail, so far.
@@ramschannelreviews , you answer my question. The charger is the wire connected to the LED from the solar panel. Thank for making thing clear that it is always connected 24 hour with no worries of over charging.🥳👍👍

They still do. Approximately 10-12 hours, straight depending on season. Long nights 12 hours. Short nights 10 hours. In between about 11 hours.

Hello po. I can't speak for other brands, But for my Bosca 25W and 40W solar lights, they work fine in any weather. Here's a link to a video I made during rainy weather. @@maissamagnon4041 Baka po yung nasa booklet ay reminder na bawal syang ilubog sa tubig. Kung ulan lang no problem kasi IP65 po ang rating nya. Hwag lang ilubog sa tubig. Salamat din po sa suporta.
Bumili po ako bosca 40w. Normal lng ba na d iilaw ung red pag nagtest ka ng gabi co2nnect ang panel? Pero umiilaw nman? Salamat
Yung red na LED ay charging indicator po. Sa gabi hindi nag chacharge kaya hindi sisindi ang indicator. Try nyo po sa araw dapat sisindi sya habang charging ang battery. Salamat po sa suporta.

Naka sealed yung unit sir, at least doon sa 25W at 40W na Bosca solar lights. Wala akong makitang screw or way para buksan. Mukhang non-upgradable at masisira pag pinilit.
@@ramschannelreviews meron po akong nakita sa shopeee sa comments sections ng nagbebenta ng battery na nakapag-upgrade. nasa likod ata sir may screw, then luluwag yung harapan nya (glass side) dun papalitan ang battery. though di ko pa din nasubukan sir. pero i suspect na naka-seal yang harap nyan with a gasket para waterproof baka need din ng pang-pick para umangat.

Sir sa observation ko lang po 11-12 hours basta maganda ang panahon depende sa oras ng sikat at lubog ng araw.

Prng gnyn tlga ang mga bosca ngaauto lights sya, ks imposible naoakitan na ang item ko pero gnun pa din sya. It means naka set tlga ang brightness nya sa auto kht idefault ang brightness nya,after an hour bumabalik sya sa auto lights. Ilan beses ko na kc sinubukan tpos pg pipindutin mo pa yung remotw para ibaba ang brightness nya sun na sya liliwanag ulit. Prng my timer yung pagka default nya tpos babalik sa auto lights

I also noticed that brightness dropped to 34% after about 2 hours, at halos steady na sya sa ganyang liwanag hanggang umaga na. Hindi ko lang po na try i-manual sa remote at simulan ng malakas saka i-observe kung hihina ang liwanag. Still, what's important to me is that it last a complete light cycle from early evening to early morning without interruption. It may indeed have a circuit/timer designed to default to auto brightness after starting out very bright.

Merong isang viewer nagshare na kahit i-manual setting nya ang brightness, sa simula lang din malakas, peron humina din kagaya ng sa automatic setting. @@lionelperez659 Hindi po ako sure kung yung ibang brand ay ganun din. Pero tingin ko sa Bosca, possible nga na pinagkakasya ang battery power para walang interruption sa ilaw buong magdamag.
@@lionelperez659 to answer your other question sir, meron sa Bosca na S01 at S01c na code, ang sabi sa kin ng Bosca, ang pinagkaiba daw nila is battery capacity. Mas mataas ang S01. Meron ding ibang brand, ang nakita ko namang difference sa iba, yung panel nya mas mahina ang wattage.
How much price
It's roughly 700 Pesos, more or less (around U$12) from local online sellers. But the price can vary.
Pano po pag nasira Ang remote my manual switch po ba sya?
Unfortunately wala pong manual switch, as far as I can tell from my 25W and 40W Bosca Solar lights. However pare-pareho lang po ang remote control nila. Isang remote control lang po ginagamit ko sa kanilang lahat. spare nalang yung iba.

Interesting question sir. Eto po nasa nameplate rating ng 25W and 40W Bosca Solar light.
Solar panel for 25W: Max power 12W, Open circuit voltage 7.2V, Max power voltage 6V, Max power current 2A.
Solar panel for 40W: Max Power 16W, Open circuit voltage 7.2V, Max power voltage 6V, Max power current 2.66A
In theory, the 40W solar panel could charge the 25W light since they have common output DC voltages. It could also charge faster due to 0.66A more available current. I haven't tried it though.

Fully charged po ba ang battery ng inyong Bosca solar light? Ilang watts po ba? Whenever I have a new Bosca solar light, I let it charge for 3 days first before I turn it on (Auto on remote control) just to be sure that they are fully charged first. Kung sure po kayo na fully charged ang solar light ninyo, check nyo din po ang remote control battery (2-AAA) baka mahina na. Kung may kilala po kayong electrician I suggest pa check nyo din po sa kanila.

Sir paano full auto?
Sir yung red push button sa top ng remote naka label na "auto." Just press it while pointing to the solar light. It will blink 4 times, then just leave it. Naka full auto na po sya meaning it will turn ON and OFF by itself depending on ambient light and will automatically adjust brightness to manage battery power for whole night operation. Kung pinindot pa po ninyo ang ibang button (timer, brightness, ON) ma disable ang full auto. To enable full auto back just press "Auto" again.

Salamat sa comment sir. Yung 20W po ba ay electric or solar light din? Kung electric, observation ko lang sa aking 60W solar vs. 18W electric LED mas maliwanag ang electric. Hindi ko alam kung paano ang rating method nila sa solar lights. Kung legit at walang damage naman ang 100W Bosca ninyo baka hanggang doon lang po ang liwanag nya unless i-adjust sa maximum brightness.

Unfortunately wala pong indicator kung fully charged na. But as I've said in the video, I let the solar light charge for 3 straight days first before I used it (Press Off on Remote control). After 3 days, I put it on Auto. Since then, whole day charging takes care of whole night illumination.
Diba na oover charge pag 3days naka charge dipa nagagamit? Diba masisira battery nya?

@@Zeus-gd1jg Thanks for your comments. Your concern is reasonable, sir. If you don't feel at ease leaving your solar light charging for 3 days before use, it's your call to just follow the recommended charging time. Sa akin po, walang naging problema ang 4 ko na Bosca solar lights, more than a year na, at nagsimula sa ganung charging at suggestion ko lang naman po iyon. I believe it has a protection circuit against over-charging. Otherwise, the solar panel, by just being exposed to sunlight from 6AM to 6PM, may already subject the battery to 12-hour over-charging. For Bosca solar lights, unfortunately, there's no indication of charge level, which is the main concern of quite a number of people.
