I installed the spindle such that the motor housing bottom aligns with the clamp bottom, rather than clamping the motor near its center. This provides for improved rigidity and increased Z height.
Thanks for the Review. I just wanted to inform myself about the machine. But there are only a few videos about it. Thanks a lot for your opinion about the CNC.
I haven't tried this configuration, however seeing as the primary issue is the rigidity rather than spindle speed, I wouldn't count on this kind of spindle upgrade making a huge difference.
I can't guarantee that the drivers are removable on this machine specifically, but on other similar sized CNC's (including other machines from Sainsmart) they are.
@@ischa2135 Nice! I'm also looking forward to install a 2.2kW spindle on this machine but I need an output pin to set the speed. Did you load a custom firmware? If you where did you find it ? Any help would be very appreciated!! 😀
What program do you use for operating this machine? We've just bought one with zero experience in operating a router and the program it comes with, Candle, seems to not be very user-friendly. We're hoping to engrave words onto plates but don't want to sit and program in hundreds of individual coordinates to achieve it.
Easel is what I recommend to people looking for a beginner-friendly and basic online program: easel.inventables.com/users/sign_in I also have a beginners guide where I show some basic uses of Easel: ua-cam.com/video/NNnxV0NLdXE/v-deo.html Please let me know if you have any other questions!

I'm glad you found it useful! :D
is this router suitable for anything other than engraving? e.g. some metalworking. Can it make chamfers at 45 degree?
for aluminium please use a spiral end mill milling cutter with single flute
if you put a makita spindle will it be able to cut 2mm depth in aluminium?

Great review. I am pondering to buy this one, but this gives me quite some confidence
Thank you! It's definitely a machine at the top of my recommendations list :)
Hello, do you perhaps know if the stepper drivers are removable?

@@CarbonCoil thanks for your fast response!
I can confirm that they are not
@@SAMGO4 thank for your reply. I also have found out. But i've managed to install servo's anyway. I found the dir and pulse pins

What cnc program do you use?
I use Easel for most of my projects, but switch to Fusion360 if I need to make something more complex or in 3D.
