Regarding The Gunslinger, I really encourage you to read it for yourself and form your own opinion of it. I myself read it and, though it failed to wow me, I was left with a desire to continue the series! 😊
Hehe spring, I know you are from Australia but srsly every time you mention seasons I get thrown off for a second :D I actually want to read gunslinger too and didn't really hear that many bad things so I'm still excited
I got the first book a few months ago and haven't actually looked up reviews. I have heard that it's different than Stephen Kings usual stuff, but so far haven't heard anything really negative about it. Edit: I actually haven't read any books by Stephen King, so this would be my first. Can't believe I forgot to add that. *facepalm*.
It's definitely not essential to refresh your memory of Graceling, Fire takes place way before Graceling even happens! And the Song of Achilles is SOOO good! I'm excited for you to read it!
The Dark Tower series is amazing! While the first book can be confusing, it's more of an introduction to this world. So if you're interested, don't stop after The Gunslinger!
I read that the dark tower movie is a continuation of the final book in the dark tower saga, so you could read that book and the movie would be totally different. I have read until the third book and I can say is amazing and I am sure the rest of the books will be the same or better.
While I haven't personally read the Dark Tower series, my best friend has, and it is one of her favorite series of all time. She says that you should at least give the first book a chance because it is absolutely fantastic! I am considering picking up the first book since she loves it so much, so I think you should at least try it. Who knows? Maybe a lot of other people don't like it, but perhaps you will!
I just reread Graceling! I really should pick up Fire and Bitterblue soon, too, since I love all of the Graceling Realm books. And I just read When Dimple Met Rishi last weekend! I don't read a lot of contemporary YA, but I thought it was a really cute story and really enjoyed it.
Omg!! For the Golem and the Jinni u should totally listen the audiobook!!! Is soooo good! And I recommend u to get into it without knowing anything more. U will love it!❤❤❤
The Gunslinger is the worst book in the series but it's also only 200 pages long. You should read the introduction, definitely, it explains a lot. It's my favourite series and I describe it to people as giving you the same feeling you get as watching The Matrix. Also, from what I remember of Fire, you don't need to read too much about Graceling. They're very tentatively linked.
The Gunslinger is a really good book. I haven't seen the movie because I'm not sure where it fits in to the series. The second book was also really good too
The Golem and the Jinni is amazing, I read it earlier this year and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I'm hoping to read Graceling, The Song of Achilles and The Gunslinger before the end of the year, everyone raves about them so I'm excited to see what I think. The Song of Achilles is a M/M romance from my understanding so that will be a nice change! I should really get around to buying When Dimple met Rishi... Great vid and good luck with your reading!
I never really pick out books that i want to read. I'm more of a mood reader :) I pick my next book usually during while I'm reading my current read. I rarely create TBRs that are longer than 1 or 2 books xD
The Golem and the Jinni sounds fantastic! I loved the Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud which also features jinnis, so I'd love to read other books like that.
I have read when dimple met rishi and found it a breath of fresh air! I would love to read windfall and am super excited to start Jen Campbell's short story collection which I have been sent an ARC for so I will be reviewing it as well. Love your videos. My to read list is growing thanks to this video! X
I'm reading The dark tower series right now (I'm at the fifth book) and I'm loving it! So, if you start it with The gunslinger I think that you'll like it! :)
The Gunslinger is on my TBR, too. I'm so nervous about reading it because I've heard more negative reviews than positive, but I, too, prefer to read the book first.
Woow I was so confused for a second! Here in the Netherlands summer is almost over so I was like, spring??? Isn't autum and winter coming first? But then I realized you're from Australia haha
The Gunslinger is in no way awful, it's just a pretty confusing and dense book that's much much clearer when rereading after having finished the series. It takes patience but it's worth it because it's unlike anything else and the very next book is much more approachable.
The gunslinger is amazing! The Dark Tower series is my favourite of all time, the film is more of a spiritual adaptation using characters/elements from the series and isn't really anything to do with the book.
Fire was really good. I read it a long time ago. But you're right thought it is a companion book to Graceling though. But I do hope you enjoy the book :)
Also, apparently The Dark Series is really great but the movie is bad. I haven't read or seen either but that is what I'm hearing. So it may still be worth giving the book a try.
The Golem and the Jinni has been on my tbr list forever. I need to get to that one. The Gunslinger is really good! I am part way through book 4 in The Dark Tower series and I'm still enjoying it, if that helps push you to read that one! :)
I'm actually about to start reading The Gunslinger (and The Mist because I just watched the Netflix show), but I've heard some great things about The Dark Tower series! An acquaintance of mine loves them (and Stephen King's work in general) and has recommended them to me for years!
You don't have to read Graceling again in order to read Fire. I just read Fire recently, a year after reading Graceling, and there is only ONE common character from the stories, and you will meet him first. I'm not entirely sure why Cashore put this particular character in Fire, since they have more to do with Graceling. In fact, Fire takes place before Graceling. I hope that helps!
For some reason i really liked the gunslinger but if you don't like it then keep in mind that all the people who have said that it is hard to read or awful actually love the other books in the series from their heart.
I've seen a lot of people reading 'when dimple met rishi' on goodreads, but I'm a bit hesitant to pick it up bc of all the hype it's getting,,,but I'm thinking about reading it soon!
I haven't actually read Gunslinger yet it's on my TBR however my husband was addicted to this series years ago and said that it gets better further into the series so may be working giving a go 😊 x
The Gunslinger is classic. I think you'll enjoy it. The movie though...this is probably the only time I'd actually recommend watching the movie before the book. If you're a fan of the book, the movie adaptation is a serious letdown. But, if you're not as attached to the book and watch it with no expectations, I think it makes the movie much more enjoyable
Hello lovely lady! Just going to say if you want start on Stephen King you should definitely stick with his older ones! Some I would recommend IT, Carrie, Pet Semetary, Cujo, The Shining, Misery (My personal fave. Finished it in a day!) Desperation and Rose Matter. Happy reading!
I was like dang she's skipping a few seasons or planning ahead, then I remembered science and that the seasons are backwards in Australia! I can't imagine summer Christmas.
I'm from Australia too :D I'm hoping to read this spring/summer is: the rest of the harry potter series, some Stephen king, some David foster Wallace, and some john Steinbeck. :D
Great video! As a Stephen King fan I would say if you're now getting into Stephen King I would not recommend The Gunslinger as a first choice... I would recommend books like Salem's Lot, Misery and The Long Walk (short story).
Hi from brazil :) . Please read the gunslinger it is completely different from the movies. Isn't the best book on the series but is cool , and the dark tower series is grate, one of my favorites of all times .
Heey, I really love your channel!! I'm planning to visit Australia this summer, what reads would you recommend to get me in an "Australian Mindset" while I plan my trip?
I hate to add to the dislike chain, but I've read the Gunslinger twice now in hopes of getting into the rest of the series, but I just couldn't get into it. :/ However! If you want a good Stephen King book, check out Salem's Lot. It's a nice, creepy, good ol' fashioned vampire novel.
I followed Fire just fine having never read Graceling. Very few unanswered questions. I liked the Gunslinger movie fairly well, but I absolutely hated the book. It is a fairly loose adaptation and has very little of the first book in the movie.
Ugh do not read Song of Achilles or Gunslinger. Both are terrible. Particularly Gunslinger. Way too confusing and complex, and just nothing's explained. It as my first proper King book too, and it was such a let-down. Not excited for any others at all.
P.S. I love that book! I was so confused until I read your comment, I forgot she was from the south
P.S. I love that book! Same here! I thought "wait a minute, we just got done with summer...oh yeah..."
*facepalm*.
I was confused for a moment and then realized what was going on...
OMG SAME I WAS SO CONFUSED
It's definitely not essential to refresh your memory of Graceling, Fire takes place way before Graceling even happens! And the Song of Achilles is SOOO good! I'm excited for you to read it!
I love The Song of Achiles sooooo much. There's definitely a romance and it's definitely incredible.
The Dark Tower series is amazing! While the first book can be confusing, it's more of an introduction to this world. So if you're interested, don't stop after The Gunslinger!
Wow the golem and the jinni is so beautiful looking! That covers stunning.
I read that the dark tower movie is a continuation of the final book in the dark tower saga, so you could read that book and the movie would be totally different. I have read until the third book and I can say is amazing and I am sure the rest of the books will be the same or better.
EMMA DAVIS I don't think so... Is Stephen King 👑
While I haven't personally read the Dark Tower series, my best friend has, and it is one of her favorite series of all time. I am considering picking up the first book since she loves it so much, so I think you should at least try it. Who knows? Maybe a lot of other people don't like it, but perhaps you will!
The Golem and the Jinni is pure magic. You'll love it.
i started crying when you said the song of achilles it's been my favorite book for four years! very beautiful read!!
The Song of Achilles is my favorite book!! I really hope you enjoy it!!
ahhhhh the song of achilles is wonderful 💜 hope you like it !!
The Song of Achilles was fantastic, IMO!
Omg!! For the Golem and the Jinni u should totally listen the audiobook!!! Is soooo good! And I recommend u to get into it without knowing anything more. U will love it!❤❤❤
The Song of Achilles! I love that book so, so much
So funny that its almost autumn here but in australia its spring it just doesnt get into my mind 😊😊
omg the song of achilles is my favourite book. it's seriously so good
Oh gosh i love sooo bad Golem and Jinni. It's so peculiar and unique. I hope you like It too :)
I really love the graceling trilogy so much
Song of Achilles is amazing! One of my favourite books of this year, definitely!
I was so confused then! It's turning spring in Australia...
Fire is an awesome book. I love this world and the characters so so much. Hope you enjoy it.

Read the Gunslinger. It's really good.
I'm reading The dark tower series right now (I'm at the fifth book) and I'm loving it! So, if you start it with The gunslinger I think that you'll like it! :)
If you read Song of Achilles, I would love to see a review of it.

The Song of Achilles 😭❤️

Our TBR has a lot in common.
The gunslinger is amazing! The Dark Tower series is my favourite of all time, the film is more of a spiritual adaptation using characters/elements from the series and isn't really anything to do with the book.
I can't wait to see what you think of The Gunslinger as I've seen quite contradicting reviews about it.
Fire was really good. I read it a long time ago. But you're right thought it is a companion book to Graceling though. But I do hope you enjoy the book :)
The Song of Achilles sounds so good! I loved the movie Troy, and I love the story of Achilles, so I will have to pick that book up! :)
You don't have to read Graceling in order to read Fire. It is its own story, almost completely separate, not entirely but almost.
Also, apparently The Dark Series is really great but the movie is bad. I haven't read or seen either but that is what I'm hearing. So it may still be worth giving the book a try.
The golem and the jinni is my favorite book 😍
You always have very interesting books to talk about! My TBR is growing bigger because of your videos, haha. Love you ❤️
The Golem and the Jinni has been on my tbr list forever. I need to get to that one. The Gunslinger is really good! I am part way through book 4 in The Dark Tower series and I'm still enjoying it, if that helps push you to read that one! :)

Fire by Cashore is actually before Graceling timeline ways. You do not need to remember that much from Graceling :)
Graceling and fire are companions and dont really cross until bitterblue. So you dont really need to know all the details of Graceling to read fire.
I've always wanted to read the Graceling series! (I also looked at the title of this video and went "WHAT SPRING?!?" and then I remembered XD)
I haven't actually read Gunslinger yet it's on my TBR however my husband was addicted to this series years ago and said that it gets better further into the series so may be working giving a go 😊 x
I really want to read The Song of Achilles and The Golem and the Jinni within the next year, potentially with my book club!
The dark tower series is really good.
I live in GA and totally forgot it's Winter in Australia 😂
Oh I hope you'll like Golem and Jinn
I need to read Dimple so badly!!
I live in the us so I was so confused when she said it is winter because it is summer in the us
Gunslinger is different but worth trying. I didn't love it but I'm glad I read it.
i wouldn't say you need to r-read Graceling. personally, i preferred Fire, hopefully you enjoy it too!
Same! I loved all the monsters (both human and beast) and Fire was a great protagonist :)
A song for Achilles is one I want to read as well!
The Gunslinger is classic. I think you'll enjoy it. The movie though...this is probably the only time I'd actually recommend watching the movie before the book. Golem and Jinni is a good book. Not amazing but deserves one read.
I really need to buy When Dimple Met Rishi cause I really wanna read it!
You can read fire without refreshing graceling, bitterblue is more of a sequel
To be fair, The Gunslinger is only the first book, but I remember liking it.
I was like dang she's skipping a few seasons or planning ahead, then I remembered science and that the seasons are backwards in Australia! I can't imagine summer Christmas.
Kelsey Ogden summer Chrismas is awesome I can't imagine a white Christmas that sounds a bit like a travelling nightmare.
Happy reading! :)
Yes the gunslinger is a hard read but every one I know who's read it says that the rest of the books are really good
Oh I've been meaning to read the Gunslinger for a long time. I have a copy and someone recommended it to me but I can't remember who
In my opinion, the Gunslinger was the best book out of the series. And it was a great book. Dont skip it.
Still summer here in England haha
I'm from Australia too :D I'm hoping to read this spring/summer is: the rest of the harry potter series, some Stephen king, some David foster Wallace, and some john Steinbeck. :D
Great video! As a Stephen King fan I would say if you're now getting into Stephen King I would not recommend The Gunslinger as a first choice... I would recommend books like Salem's Lot, Misery and The Long Walk (short story).
The gunslinger is great...
Have you read Love and Other Perishable Things by Laura Buzo? Fave Aussie novel!
I loved the dark tower series but the movie and book are totally different.
You know there is an IT movie remake coming out soon if you change your mine, but still want to read King
Hi from brazil :) . Please read the gunslinger it is completely different from the movies. Isn't the best book on the series but is cool , and the dark tower series is grate, one of my favorites of all times .
Heey, I really love your channel!!
I'm planning to visit Australia this summer, what reads would you recommend to get me in an "Australian Mindset" while I plan my trip?
fire is better than graceling & you don't have to remember a lot from graceling anyways
The movie is horrible, but the books are very amazing, the movie is not even an adaptation of the first book, is a moisture of all of them
I hate to add to the dislike chain, but I've read the Gunslinger twice now in hopes of getting into the rest of the series, but I just couldn't get into it. :/ However! If you want a good Stephen King book, check out Salem's Lot. It's a nice, creepy, good ol' fashioned vampire novel.
I recently read The Gunslinger and saw the movie and honestly, I hated them both
but everyone has different tastes so
I'm planning to read the hate you give is it any good?
People should stop hyping up When Dimple met Rishi, it's really not that good....
The Gunslinger is an amazing book. Please don't put off reading it just because the movie got bad reviews.
Hi!
I followed Fire just fine having never read Graceling. Very few unanswered questions. I liked the Gunslinger movie fairly well, but I absolutely hated the book. It is a fairly loose adaptation and has very little of the first book in the movie.
I could be reading. But I'm watching this video...... wtf me!!?
The Dark Tower series is amazing. The movie (I know it's an adaptation, but still--) however strays so far from it, it's offensive to the readers.
Three characters and a whole different plot.
Well the Gunslinger the movie is awful, because they've changed so much of the book, but the book and the whole series is great in my opinion
Remember to hit the 'like' button! It really helps out the UA-camrs we
Stephen King >
Nice choices!
Ugh do not read Song of Achilles or Gunslinger. Both are terrible. Particularly Gunslinger. Way too confusing and complex, and just nothing's explained. It as my first proper King book too, and it was such a let-down. Not excited for any others at all.
