  • The Slingshot FLYER 280 is a versatile board that can be used for paddleboarding, windsurfing and windfoiling. it is enabled for early takeoff, lift and easy jibing when combined with the Hover Glide hydrofoil package, which includes the #Infinity84 wing.

Great Video Andy ! I would only correct at 1:38 that it is not 24 centimeter mast but 24 Inch (60cm) mast. People may get confused with 15" (38cm) one. Otherwise many great points like using that 24" (mid range mast) in stead of long 36"/ 90cm and also explanation about i84 front wing 480cm stabilizer that should have wing tips down same as front wing. I wrote more about it in our Pacific NW Windtalk Forum under "SlingShot Foil Stabilizers - How to unintentionally convert your wind foil board into "pure planing" board ;) " also I have found another application for Flyer 280 converting it into Electric Hydrofoil board more info at "How to quickly convert your Windsurf Foil Board into Electric Foil Board for around $1500 - DIY - Methodology behind". I am not totally foiling yet but I am reaching 5.8 mph speed with 2/3d board length out of the water with weaker 1500W trolling motor (2100W troubleshooting now) an I am heavy at 100kg / 220LB. I am also experimenting with my bi-plane mod of having i76 under i84 more details at "WWII Sinking the battleship Bismarck - Inspired by British Torpedo Bombers - What does it have to do with Slingshot Hydrofoil ?" My additional review for Flyer 280 is at "Pro review of SS Flyer 280 SUP-Windfoil longboard

I love your video! I don't live near the Hood River, the San Francisco Bay or Waimea where foils are designed and tested in the wind that blows an a constant 20mph almost every day. I sail in the Midwest on the Great Lakes where the wind gusts to 15mph and drops to 7mph every 1000ft. The 84cm wing allows me to pop up on the foil and perhaps glide thru the lulls. Your using the 84 cm wing with the 48cm stabilizer. Is that a the 61cm short fuse or the 78cm long fuse? Monday I'll have my hands on a 48cm stabilizer which I'll mount on a 78 cm long fuse. I'm looking for the ability to glide through the lulls! Have you experimented with the Infinity 99cm foil on the flyer?

Hey wait a second. I have the Infinity 84 wing as well. Are the stabilizer wing tips supposed to be in the same direction as the main wing? I think I may be doing it wrong... How is the rear wing supposed to be arranged on a short board?

Kevin look at the configuration of our FSup Foil: www.slingshotsports.com/2019-Hover-Glide-FSUP-Foil
The rear wing is on the bottom of the fuselage with wingtips facing the same way as the front wing.

The 42 cm rear stab points up on the tips. But if you have the 48 cm stay the tips face down.

1:14 You just did a duck tack. Unusual. Why choose to duck tack?
