Playing bloodborne casualyl just passing through the game is just too unappreciative on how gorgeous the game is in every aspect. It's frustrating to play only in pve since most players these days need help in every boss...... too lazy to understand and with no patients on how to beat the boss. Sucking the fun out of multiplayer in souls game. On the other hand DS 3 2nd dlc is amazing. :D

DetiXSniPeZ At floor 20 you get assault rifles snipers and grenade launchers plus a lot of other stuff so it shouldn't get too boring since you have more weapons and items to play with

TheCurrykiev A game being free should only increase it's score if the microtransactions are basically required to play. Almost every mobile game nowadays has microtransactions which are basically required to "git gud" whereas in Let it Die, the microtransactions or for the sub par gamer who can't beat the game without spending a few extra dollars.
Forget this review. This game is outstanding.

Hideo literally developed Peace Walker to as a replacement for Portable Ops and made PO non-canon while also mentioning it in PW.
Suda51 last game was probably Lolipop Chainsaw, even that was a collaboration with a few other directors. He hasn't directed a game since No More Heroes.
This is probably the most fun game i've played in a while, its basically one of those games where i dont care about the flaws and i can still have a good time playing
It's free to play, can't really complain and it's pretty fun too.

You dont have to spend money to get your dead characters back, just go back to the floor they died in, kill them, and they get send back to your freezer, also its very fast to level your characters up. there were a few problems I have about the exploration mechanic and how when I log out it didnt show I explored certain areas but whatever.

to sum up my impressions on the game: better than expected, or good for a free to play game.
it's good just not great and not everyone likes these Suda51 type of games. Don't get the ".8" part i'd give it a simple 7/10
you complain the levels are samey when you evidently have yet to beat the first actual boss guarding the next area. you say the enemies are prone to stun locking when you attract swarms like an incompetent. you complain weapons are flimsy and then bash blueprints which exist as an answer to that problem. you say the game doesn't want you to get attached to items when your bag is stuffed with half broken gear. this game isn't like Dark Souls, that's just a popular and shameful hand wave.
Whoever reviewed this hasn't played Souls and apparently only reached the third floor without learning anything. Incompetent.

The environment changes at every 10th floor.
You can get your hater back by fighting him or purchase.
The Raid mode is important to upgrade, and its quite fun.
The combat is high stakes the combos are there for a reason. You mess up you lose.
You want to upgrade and buy weapons at the shop. You get tons of gold.

The gameplay in this review was awful, it was obvious the player had no idea what he was doing. 6.4 is not accurate for this game whatsoever. They're rating it like a 60 dollar full release, when it's actually proper free to play and costs nothing but your time. Amazing game that deserves much more praise than it's getting in this shitty review. Not like I'm surprised coming from the same news outlet that gives games like COD: Ghosts and Infinite Warfare 8.0's or above. What a joke.
I agree that ign is a joke but to say "they're rating it like a 60 dollar full release" is a good thing. A game shouldn't be rated higher do to it's price point, games should rated solely on their game play because that's what makes the game fun or not, not the price. I also feel that this game is just ok at best so it was deserving of the lower score it got. If you enjoy this game good on you but you do have to admit there's a lot of rough around the edge.
A Weldon Untrue. The whole point of game reviews is to help consumers make an informed decision on whether or not to spend money on new releases. The fact this game is free to play makes the review irrelevant, since anyone can try the FULL game out for themselves to formulate their own opinion without spending a dime.
I guess that's true. I just feel that the game play is the true test of a game, not the price although you're right in that the price of the game does a lot of the time determine weather a game is worth it or not.

6.4! wow, this is the best free to play game on console without doubt, no trashy microtransactions with speial unlocks, well animated and voiced, alot of levels and a ton of fun. Just by some of the comments in this review its obvious the reviewer didnt get past floor 10 something i think should be a requirement to review it fairly.

In good news though I killed someone's lvl 50+ Hater with my lvl 25 All Rounder and snatched his sniper thanks for the sweet loot mate! XD She was literally in a straight corridor with no place you could take cover in, had to yolo big time and hope my head wasnt blown clean off.

This game delivers new mechanics and gameplay features at a deliberate and considered pace which keeps it fresh and intriguing throughout.
I'm about 20 hours and 10 floors through and there are still new systems being revealed. Some of the content in this review is bordering on misinformation.

They shouldn't even made a review yet. hey didn't even reach 10th floor, not even a grade 2 fighter.
You can click R3 to lock on to enemies, making it so every attack you do is aimed towards them. Makes fighting so much easier.
Honestly? First time I tried it, I put it down. Everything was so confusing. However, I picked it back up and, after sticking with it, actually find myself enjoying it. Really fun for me, especially for a free to play game.
Technically the reviewer only got up past the tutorial area, they didn't even reach the first 'main boss' yet.
Not a single mention of the soundtrack?
I still think this game looks fairly interesting.
I mean, sure there are better alternatives, but it does seem like a pretty quirky game.
Plus it's made by Suda51, so there's a bit of charm to them, that and I loved his games.

I don't normally comment on videos, but this review bothered me. This reviewer didn't get very far in the game whatsoever, with most complaints null and void when progress is made. We didn't even see any areas beyond floor 10 in this entire review, which I assume is made up of his footage. Weapon durability isn't trivial, it's a stat in the game which is altered between weapons. Crafting your gear is imperative. This reviewer hardly got far enough to even detail the decal system, TDM, or beyond the basic fundamentals of combat. Terribly done review.

Some fair points, but this is essentially just a review of Let it Die floors 1-10. The game has numerous flaws and virtues that are completely untouched here.

Game soundtrack is put together by the same composer of Silent Hill, Akira Yamaoka... he put together one of the best soundtracks in this game!
This isn't a game IGN reviewers can play for a day and then review. They glossed over so much, and got so much information incorrect.
I'm having plenty fun with this game, and feel it's pretty good for a f2p. It has some flaws like quest tracking and bad PvP elements. But I really can't wait to see how this game evolve over time. I love this crazy game.

I'd give it a 7 honestly. It's a good game and I really do enjoy it as it gives me that Dark Souls feeling where I have to time jumps and attacks, (regardless of what this reviewer said.) and the enemies only get harder and smarter as you move on. I'm not much for the PVP aspect of it and I wish you could play co-op instead of just destroying other waiting rooms for... resources and glory?

As a souls veteran its getting abit annoying seeing everyone put the souls name up against EVERY GAME thats remotely hard i hate to burst everyones bubble but hard games existed before Demon/Dark souls + this game felt like a tuff version of saints row mixed with a dungeon crawler if anything lol which is not a bad thing but the only thing it had in common with dark souls is maintaining stamina but again lots of other games have that too :/ anyway i didnt get super far in the game i beat a few bosses but i had to delete it so i could install a game i bought last week but do the bosses get any harder ? because the ones i beat seemed kind of easy

Righteous Kung Fu Well all im going to say is what made dark souls great is that it was unique so i honestly don't want everyone trying too mimic it tbh but then again dark souls 3 is SUPPOSEDLY the last one so maybe its not such a bad thing now. The devs who are making these types of games need to stay fresh in someway like Salt & Sanctuary (Going 2D) or Nioh with the KI & fighting stances (Really exited for that game).

This game is better than watch dogs 2, the last guardian or final fantasy XV. Unlike those three, let it die is a well made game, its original in many aspects, its free if you want and the most important, its fun.

Im agree, Triple A invest more in reviews, youtubers and advertisment than in the game itself but for me no matter, im try free almost every triple A game before buy and watch dogs 2 is boring as hell, final fantasy xv a game maybe for fans but not for me and last guardian, well, last guardian its a joke. Let it die is free, Watch dogs 2 cost 70 euros, the same as witcher 3, GTA V, the last Dark Souls, and other great games but its a mediocre game, for me its only a boring mix of the last boring open world games from Ubisoft but trying to looks cool, anyway, if you enjoy it better for you

I actually like when a character dies you have to choose another one, i like the whole multiple characters thing, and then you gotta get them back fighting them with the now newer character, that is actually pretty fun
Despite the fact that it seems neither Daemon nor Leif never got "that far" up the tower, at least footage used in the video imply's so - score is more or less fair.

This is a bad review, extremely lazy and shallow. If you are not going to put the time in to see where the game goes past the very early on then at least do some research. A quick jaunt into the Let It Die subreddit will give newcomers a much better outlook on the game. I know Ign is taken by many as a joke but reviews are suppose to be well informed and reliable! I don't know of Lief Johnson's other work but I hope it is much more thorough and dedicated than this outing..

I seriously had doubts with this game first time I saw it on the PS Store. Gave it a shot anyway since it was free.
First few minutes of the game is awkward as hell cuz of the dude with the skateboard. But after a while, the game really becomes fantastically fun.
I got a quick vid of me playing out one of the secret log in bonuses that happens in the game if you fellas wanna check out the awesome weirdness of the gsme. Seriously, give it a chance. Also, who even trusts IGN's reviews after COD GHOST
This game is NOT like Dark Souls. Saying that puts people in the wrong mind set as every death in this game is avoidable and rarely feels cheap (except the Jackals but they are like an end game boss fight in themselves). If anything this game has more in common with the Dead Rising series; low durability weapons, craftable items you save more for tough situations and boss fights, a heavy reliance on consumables found around the map and enemies, even the weakest ones, are a legitimate threat if underestimated. Even the boss fights feel more like Psycho battles then anything Dark Souls related.
Stealth is an option, in fact I encourage it as the stealth attack (suplexing your unaware enemy or hurricanrana if from an elevated position) does a LOT of damage and can one hit kill most enemies and even Haters. Best of all it doesn't drain any durability. Also dodging is a beginners trap, timing blocks instantly parries your opponent and stuns them for a brief moment, and even if you mess up the timing blocking reduces damage. Dodging works best only to dodge projectiles and explosives.
If you play this game, for the love of God do not play it like Dark Souls, your fighters lives are valuable so don't waste them on charging in blindly.
as a pretty fresh player of the game, can someone tell me if thecombat gets any better? cause im really not digging the "let the enemies slowly kill eachother by standing in front of each others attacks" kind of gameplay... i just dont see how else to take on a mob of 5 enemies at the same time and yet the game makes me do so even though its pretty impossible to manage.

Yes it should have a higher score because is fun, much more than other full retail price games

Daniel Gonzales I agree with you and would even put it closer to an 8 but no further than that. It does have its flaws, but since it's almost completely free of any in game purchases and the game itself doesn't cost anything to play I'm totally ok with those flaws.
You forgot to mention that its not available everywhere.
"Often best to scavenge for drops" How about no, it's extremely easy to farm for gold, not to mention blueprint items will always be better than whatever you can pick up.

Its free and 7-8/10 for me the only downside is the combat system but you get used to it
Im glad this is a Ps4 exclusive and isn't on PC or Xbox, they don't deserve a game like this
