So I get that this is not the point of this paint job but what if you had mixed in just a drop of a metallic paint with the thunderhawk blue, and then slightly more in with the spacefurry grey for your dry brushing over the black base coat to try to get some of the best properties of NMM and TMM? I know competition judges really seem to love NMM but like you said it often just doesn't look that great from every angle. Also on a separate note I get that you were doing the original color scheme, but for after the completion what about a Mars Pattern red on the bolter casing(so a little brighter than the box art you showed for this model); it would both bring in some nice high contrast and be very lore appropriate for a chaplain?
I just watched your video about what you disliked about UA-cam painting and here this one pops up very next thing. I have to point out that you're doing many of the things that the others do with this. I'm not blaming you for that, I know how making YT vids works, but you seemed to dislike it pretty vehemently yourself. Maybe just some food for thought on that hobby YT content creator topic.
I was a little worried that this video would come across as that. The reason I display it as an ebay rescue was for the sake of the competition, I wanted to make it easier for lizard's audience to find and I wanted to adamantly state that I dislike the culture of ebay rescue's when it comes to blatantly insulting previous owners. (hence the long paragraph at the start of the video.)
@@MishMashPainting It's an interesting overall topic. I think however you're perhaps painting yourself, no pun intended, into an unrealistic position. Most of the videos have these tropes and trends in them as a response to the platform's brutal incentive structure. It's not YOUR fault that this video will likely do ok by using elements you dislike. It's ok to dislike those tropes and clickbait types of things. But I think it makes more sense to target the platform with criticism and the audience with suggestions. The audience's clicks do more to drive the trends than the creators who are just trying to stay relevant. The creators would need to join together and have better conversations to make any real changes start.
@@LittleIAO True. I think something that was definitely misconstrued in that video is that I wanted to "attack" creators when that couldn't be farther from the truth. I think they are all probably great people. I also greatly resent the fact that that video is my most viewed piece of content on the channel. People really do reward negativity over positivity.

not bad on the paint mostly looks like original guy got a bad prime which happens to the best of us
