@@alicelestina4799 😘 Thx for trying this recipe hun😘.. So Asaana has a slightly sour taste but its best served with ice cubes.. N also make sure u don't overcook the sugar okay.. . As soon as the sugar is dark brown n u see it bubbling up add the boiling corn drink to the dark caramelised sugar.. If u will remember back home its always in ice(i think thats the reason why) to reduce the bitter taste however it is best to leave it for about 2-3days after u have made it..it taste much better..i will suggest if the weather is very hot leave it for 1-2days before drinking it.. N do add ice cubes to it too😘 one more thing back home i rem the sellers add milk to it too but u have to drink it as soon as u add the milk as i noticed it turns to thicken up if left for sometime... Hope this help🙏🏾😘
I tried this since last week. It's today I finally was able to finish. Hectic but worth it.😊😊. Great recipe. I loved drinking it but didn't know it was zaphena Paneah preparing it. 😂😂😂😂
Wooow never knew this is such a long process. I used to love asana growing up. Thank you for sharing and I will add to my “to cook” lists. @LamiCooks recommended your channel.
Hi dear, you might already know of this. To stop the dried sugar ring around your pot, use a little water to rinse out the sides, after pouring the sugar in. Then be careful when mixing so it doesn't splash on the sides before everything melts.. I always hear chefs talking about it(crystalization). But now I know what they meant lol.
New subscriber, thanks for the step by step am from Kenya and we use white corn (maize) on alot of dishes and drinks but have never tried this , am will do it and taste Asaana straight from my kitchen. Thank you. 💗
Am very impressed sister. Love this drink but had no clue it was that easy to make . The prep long but definitely worth it... Asana with milk always does it for me.... will definitely try this and will let you know ... Proud of you sis...
You've done extremely well. I'm so impress how you went through the whole process. I have subscribed to your channel because of this asaana. Anytime I'm ready to prepare my own, I will surely get in touch. Keep it up. 👏👏👏
Thank you very Lami for replying, yes I got the frozen jute leaves and my tuo zaafi was also a hit, May Allah continue to bless and protect you and keep on loading all the good stuff, good teacher.
A lot of work waooo next time I travel home anytime I buy I must give them a tips we call it liha in Togo Please i notice you made a lot of corn for how long can those corn be save Please
Aww sad to hear this, did you start your germination during the summer or late spring as this is the best time for germination. Which country do u live in pls
Yes, on a low temperture. Commercial mfg of the germinated corn is dry in ovens. You can do a light roast of the sprouted corn. Like, you would coffee.
Thanks a lot for sharing. You said your grand ma used to let it sit for two to three days. Do we that in a frigde or out of it? Thanks for your answer .
After cooking the asaana, leave it for 2 to 3days to kinda ferment.. Then put it in the fridge after leaving it out for 2 - 3days... The fermention depends on the weather conditions.. If u live in a very hot area i will suggest u leave it for 2days..then after 2days keep it in the fridge 😍
I wouldn't suggest that but it can be done however it's a very difficult technique.. Rem drying is different from roasting.. U can dry it indoors n if u dry indoors make sure u stir in between 🙏🏾.. 😍

Rather than coca cola this is more like the original 'malt' with caramelised sugar. I always wonder if malt drinks were copied from this recipe. Cola's, as the name suggests, recipe was originally made using the Kola nut a species indigenous to Africa. Let us not touch upon the more controversial coca element of that drink.
Soooo beautiful, just like we made it when I was in Ghana😘✌🏽❤️Thanks for sharing love
