  • This is a DIY, do it yourself, step by step guide on how to build a rooftop Sprinkler. There are expensive systems and premade sprinklers made to fit on top of your roof but they are hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars to set up in your home that are intended to help prevent wildfires from destroying your home. This whole set up cost me about $60 USD so this is well within the price range for anyone to afford, and if you live in another country I'm sure you can get all these parts for cheaper. I built mine to keep as a semi permanent fixture on my roof and if my neighbors home or the woods next to my home ever caught on fire I can easily turn the water on and the sprinkler will instantly begin to cover my roof and area around my home with a steady stream of water. Embers from fires can travel very far and embers coming from my neighbors home or the woods could cause my home to catch fire, with this sprinkler it could put keep the area around my home so wet that a fire would be hard to start near my home.

I made some similar to this 5+ yrs ago. I used brass pop up for heads. Mine are linked in a series so one hose feeds 3 sprinklers. So far they are holding up being up there for years. They are hooked up to sprinkler system I can control remotely from phone.
