    Any tips or videos on how to top stitch a very tight tube like a sleeve so that the finished stitches are neat and even?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  9 місяців тому

      Well some of that sewing is impossible on home sewing machines. In industrial sewing they use flat felled machines or other machines that allow you to sew in tubes like that.

    Could you please show us how to serge the corners and curves on a regular machine. Would you just have to make sure the needle stays in your project when you turn the corners ? TYSM for answering if you can. Love your channel. 😍👍😻

      @@SewAnastasia Hello. Have watched that video before and it is quite informative. TY for sharing it and answering my questions. Am wondering, though, is there any specific technique to use for "serging" corners and curves with a regular sewing machine like the techniques you show us to use in this video ? TY again for your help and advice. Love your channel. 😻👍😍

    This was perfect thank you. I'm out here making bandana bibs for my sister'snew baby, bought a serger to use for them and then boom I couldn't turn my fabric at the curves and was serging off the fabric. It was a mess. Thanks 😊

    Great video. I have always had problems serging curves. So, would serging fabric that is entirely circular be done the same as serging a convex curve?

    New serger sewer here. Thanks for this video! Why don’t we use the knife to cut the fabric for the square piece of fabric?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Рік тому

      I used the knife the whole time. You just want to finish the edges and not cut it off.

    Thank you this was helpful! So, what if I am sewing a project that has corners AND curves, like going around the edges of a cloud?

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  3 роки тому

      The key is to always keep the edge of your fabric straight when it’s going into the machine. No matter what the shape. Follow all the tips for corners & curves even if it’s one piece of fabric.

    Hi Anastasia, big fan. I watched this video and found it so helpful. I have a question, what if I am serging a tight area such as a very narrow plunging neckline? I tried it myself using the concave serging method and it didn't work for me. Do you think you could talk about that in one of your videos? Thanks so much. Halloween costume crunch!

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  2 роки тому

      Great question. You need to fold the fabric over to the left so you can make it straight when it goes into the serger. Thank you for watching Sew Anastasia & Happy Sewing!

    How would one serge around a shape like bear or bunny ears... of they are part of the fabric xx

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Рік тому

      You keep the edge of the fabric with with edge of your plate & work your way around the shape. As long as the fabric going into the needles is straight then it won’t cut anything off. You could also turn off your blade if you are worried about cutting it up. Hope that helps!

    Mine just doesn't feed that well around a curve. I have a Juki MO-655de. It ends up skipping stitches and sewing off the edge. Maybe I need to lighten the pressure on the foot. The other problem is that it only sews at 15,000 mph, so I can't carefully do a curve.

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  Рік тому

      Hummm 🤔 It might be skipping stitches cause it needs new needles or diff needles for the type of fabric you are using or you could be slighting pulling it & it’s throwing it off. I hope new needles work for you & the speed you should be able to adjust your foot petal for better control.

    Can u cut off fabric when ur doing a concave corner? I’m making a sweatshirt with pockets but I want the serger to trim the seam allowance as well. My worry is when I get to the pockets and I have that sharp corner and I don’t want to cut into the corner to far. TYIA. Liane.

    • @SewAnastasia
      @SewAnastasia  2 роки тому

      If you want to cut the fabric off you can but you do not need to if you are doing it to just finish the edges. Thank you for watching.

    Do you clip convex curves (e.g. necklines) prior to surging on woven fabric
    ?
