The historical context is nuanced, yes. The current genocide is not nuanced. There's no reason it should have happened this way, it's an unacceptable massive loss of innocent human life and it's clear to me that they are finally pulling the trigger after decades of stealing homes/forcing palestinians into ghettos/placing heavy restrictions forcing them into a prison state. They never wanted a dual nation state, and it's so obvious now if it wasn't obvious 10 years ago. I feel I've educated myself enough to see through the "grey areas" you're talking about here, and I think the fact that Genocide is present and there's an arrest warrent out for war crimes against Netanyahu I think it's pretty safe to say we can take a side at this point. Israel is behaving in a monstrous fashion.

You do realise that negotiations with extremists isn't a black and white process right? Look how hard it was to get back the first round of hostages, it almost didn't happen because of Hamas and their finickity/lying ways. It is not just as easy as sending in a team from Sayert Matkal and getting the hostages back. Planning, strategy, environment etcetc all goes into it...and if the bad guys refuse to even come to the table then it's almost impossible to send out a team to go bring peoples loved ones home. It can take time and talks upon talks that may fall apart then they have to begin again. It's not as simple as just going in and getting the hostages, if they did that the casualty count would be much much higher then when the risk assessment was done. Please, just use your common sense.
