I’m commenting 2 yrs after this came out, but I bought an ‘08 double cab, 6.5’ bed, with the 5.7 in October’23 with 128k miles and put 2.5” Icon shocks, SPC adjustable uca’s, 35” K02’s, sway bar delete, 17” icon wheels +25 offset and didn’t have to do the body mount chop😁, $1,500 rock sliders built by a local welding shop, and the apex rapid deflators that I love! And full skid plates by just adding a gas tank and rear diff skid. I’ve been off roading in Texas, my home state, at Merus Adventure Park at Palo Dura Canyon, an awesome place to start, and last July, Crown King, Az. I take my 18 yo son and an older 80 lb lab with me, so I needed the extra space. Great video, thank you. On stock 18” steelies, I got 5.6 sec 0-60 though I think someone cammed mine, I get about 7 flat on the 35’s here in Texas.
I have a single cab tacoma 2nd gen. No need for back seats but would LOVE the storage, towing, slight payload increase, and v8 power of a reg cab tundra. Maybe one day I’ll find a clean one with low miles
Yes they are rare , cool and capable - congratulations on finding your Unicorn. I found my own Unicorn here in Georgia back in 2017, it is a 2007 5.7L rear wheel drive SR5. Of course I lowered the rear so it's sits level with the front without losing any ground clearance, I added a beefy rear sway bar and a set of air-bags to preserve towing & hauling capabilities. For a boost in power I added a custom cat-back exhaust and a tune, among other things the tune removes the factory speed governor. The wheels are light weight 18" forged BBS off of a 2021 TRD Pro with standard street radials. The truck is very quick off the line and fast through the hilly twists and turns we have here, top speed is a lot more than the body & tires are intended to go. Some day I will install a mechanical LSD. Enjoy your RCSB, and long live the long door Tundra.
I have one got it new in 2008 great truck it has never let me down. In 16 years i had replaced only tires breaks and normal maintenance Last year and this year i started refurbishing it new suspension control arms radiator pumps etc etc ... Love my truck she's worth the upkeep she's almost at 500k miles too I'm taking her to a million and calling toyota 😂
Great tires all around in any weather. Long-lasting, deep tread, not super heavy, and not noisy. I've literally purchased about 6 sets of these for various vehicles and still run them on my 200 Series Land Cruiser. I believe there's a new version out this year (AT4?) Haven't tried those yet. Cheers!
Question…where did you find the information of how many rcsb were built? I’ve been trying to find that information forever. I do own a 2007 rcsb. Thanks
I believe it was somewhere on one of the Tundra forums. I remember it took me some time too. Sorry I don't have a link, but the document was pretty descriptive.
I have a 2007 rcsb with the 4.7 and without the trd package. It does have the bench seat and column shifter though which was the biggest selling point for me. Unfortunately the transmission went out at 152k miles and is currently being replaced.
Great video Johnny! I love everything you did on your Tundra. I just purchased a rust free silver 2007 RCSB SR5 with only 46K on it, it just might be the lowest mileage version on the planet. Unfortunately it has the 4.7 V8, still has some punch to it. My truck has a Gibson stainless duel exhaust that sounds amazing! By far the best truck I've ever owned. I wish Toyota continued making the RCSB, It's way better than any of the big three versions. I love the space behind the seats, tons of room. Can you post a link for those headlights? How have they held up? The aftermarket lights I installed Have rain water trapped in them, basically garbage. I just installed an Atoto 10" touch screen stereo that completely updates the interior and sounds way better than the stock system. I did do a 3" lift, running 33's for now, looks like a body mount chop and 35's are in my future.
Thanks Ian! Wow, amazing low miles on yours, congratulations! Here's the link to the headlighs and yes, so far so good on quality over the last 2 yrs! www.ebay.com/itm/362716898601
@@UtahJohnnyL I've been all over this truck build for months now & I'd like to purchase the aftermarket headlights. Can you please drop the name of these headlights or resend the link. It no longer works.
Sold it about a year and a half ago to a friend. He's sold it since then as well....I think it lives in Seattle/Portland area these days. Honestly, if another clean popped up, I'd consider buying another! Great trucks!

It is! Thanks!
So Johnny is the bed length 6' 6" or 5' 6" on your RCSB?
Hey Will, this one had the 6'5" bed. Cheers!
Do you have an aftermarket parts list?
Not per se, but I believe I mentioned it all in the video.. Cheers!
Johnny, how much for you to build me the same bumper??
Hi Daniel, thanks for reaching out but it's certainly just a one-off creation. Cheers!
slap the Sequoia T-case and speedometer on it and you get the best of both worlds.
Get it polished and ceramic coated
Cool!!! Wanna sell it? I’m from Europe
It's currently for sale from my friend who purchased it from me. 😉 Contact @the_driveologist
Thx Johnny. No price though. And don’t need wheels, spot lights. I’ll put 37’s on steelies
