These tips are super interesting and useful! Thanks so much for the breakdown - it's really helpful to know when processes should be started relative to releases. Appreciate you!
Newbies listen up..I wish ..I wish I had seen this before I started out..nice one.."Don't release songs over Christmas"..but all my songs are carols, what do I do now haha?!
What about age? I’m 15 and supposed to be lead vocals...😬 Jimmy Page said he’s got a gravel-y voice with no range and I sort of do too. I kinda sound like Chris Cornell...but it’s hard sometimes. Should I wait a bit longer for my voice to develop? Any techniques worth trying? Should I be expecting if any inabilities (may they appear) to sing as high/low or raspy/clear as I should? I dunno...
BeN_BuCk To0 honestly, it doesn’t matter what age you start at. As long as you want to do it and you’re passionate about it, you can do whatever you want. Unless you’re absolutely horrible, which I doubt you are but if you’re an awful singer then don’t (again I don’t think you’re horrible)
What would you recommend playing on your gigs, when you haven't released the full ep yet? The shitty songs, that didn't make it, the yet unreleased songs or covers,...?
The unreleased songs would be best, assuming they are the best songs! .. Remember you aren't a huge artists that needs to guard your new material! Play your best stuff at gig, release or unreleased!
Quick question. Do lyric videos count towards the same purpose as the music videos you talk about? What if we have money to make lyric videos but not real music videos?
Provided you own a smartphone, you have the ability to make a music video! ... Also, yes a lyric video counts as a music video, but they tend to be less liked than music videos!
Can we still record with other people during this time?(features) Im a solo artist sir, I'm in my September now, preparing to drop the first single off my EP
PR is the act of contacting blogs, websites and magazines in order to get reviews and features. Radio Plugging is reaching out to radio stations to try and get them to play your song!
I discovered your videos lately and they been quite helpful for me so far!! Released my debut EP a few days ago! If you have a moment, check it out here: @
The chances of actually keeping a band together to even get the first step is zero. I wouldn’t recommend this route or you end up like everyone who wants to get into the business. They waste 2-3 decades trying to “form a band”.
C K for one I don’t really have anything on my channel. I’m not really trying to “give advice”. I am telling people a major pitfall that costs musicians their entire career. That’s from my own experience and what I’ve heard from countless others who waste literally decades on a dead end path. You could choose to ignore it sure. Spend the next 10-20 years trying a strategy that makes no sense, just because “that’s what you do”

wow, that really helped!! Thank you very much!
Thank you for this video,it is Helpful .Love from Italy
thank you so much
I was quoted two thousand dollars to record an album. How much should I plan to spend recording an EP?
There's a chance that was worked out per day, £200 per day, 10 songs, 1 song per day, £2000. So I would use the same logic for the EP.
What if I’m a EDM artist and it’s just me in the studio? I needed these tips for a ep I’m making in a month.

Nice what type of music are u putting out

should a press release be done for the 3 first singles before the EP?
Up to you! If you plan on getting in touch with blogs (etc) for every single, then you probably should have a press release to go along with It!
Is there any way to release ep singles without doing gigs.. ?
Yes! Just ignore everything I said about gigs!
@@TheMusicLab Thank you..

EP release tip 2: don't use youtube comments as your method of marketing. No one cares about some random in the youtube comments

Could you elaborate? My definition of 'forming a band' is writing songs and getting a name, I don't see how any band could exist without doing both.
From my quick look at your channel, I don't know if you're in the best position to be giving advice, Lex
