Same, I made over 15-20 songs over the last 3 months and only liked like 5 of them tbh, Hopefully my ideas will sound as good on a disc as how they sound in my brain.. wish you luck and see you at the top

Great to see you here, ill! As a Beat Academy Pro subscriber I love your content. Even though I’m wondering if we’re going to see Graham at all at this channel in 2021. I though maybe Graham would be presenting new people at the beginning of the video. Or talking with them
Amazing amount of great advice packed into only 10 minutes! Especially like the "planning" and "set a deadline" part, and finally, "work with other artists / productions to promote each others work."
Ha! "Tell the truth and make it rhyme!" :) I love it! Good tips here, thanks for sharing. I'm doing a production course with Ryan Tedder right now and I got to see first hand the process of finding a melody by singing gibberish over a chord progression - fascinating!
Hah, funny. Was just writing down what´s needed for recording music and where I can improve, perfect timing for this upload for me :). Looks like I´m gonna release an EP this year then, let´s see.
Once again no mention of copyright for each song, copyright for the sound recording, or the isrc and barcode, ASCAP, BMI, Soundexchange, Soundscan, etc.
@@BeatAcademy thank you for responding. I know Distrokid will issue an ISRC but If you leave distrokid for any reason you dont get to keep the code. So I have always bought my own for each song.
im releasing my EP on CD first to drum up support for when its out on streams ,with a couple on songs uploaded already from that cd ,good idea ?,bad idea?
Thanks for this information. Now, what does "independent artist" mean in this case. I've already got a distributor who does the work of uploading songs in the various streaming platforms for me, an this distributor would also load an EP into the net for me. I want to keep on working together with that distributor as I've only started since May 20 having this work done by it/him.
Do it. Your music so why not. If it’s already well known then you probably shouldn’t but if you’re looking at this video then you’re like me and I did it. Your music and make it sound as Great as you can 🤘🏻best of luck
Can you talk about how to register your music?, Is it convenient to create your own publishing company or your own record company, to maintain the rights of your music? what is the process after finishing your EP. and before you can upload to the web o digital distributors.

Thanks for the video! What about registering the copyright of the lyrics/music and the masters?
Shouldn’t you sequence before mastering? I always see mastering as a process involving all songs, making sure they’re levelled and flowing nicely from one to the next ... great vid. Looking forward to the rest! :-)
Should the EP have a specific sound and theme? I'm thinking of releasing an EP and I have a few hardcore rap tracks and also melodic/pop tracks. Can I put them in the same EP?
Wow, this guy is seriously an expert. Like, _Expert Village_ level stuff.. Did you guys catch that gem about how you should write lyrics and melodies for your songs? You guys have no idea how fortunate you are to find information like this for free right here on the internet.
Everyone starts somewhere so while lots of it seems self evident now for a beginner this could be the clear and straightforward video they needed. The video is obviously not aimed at you so there's not point leaving sarcastic comments complaining that the video wasn't for you. If this is something you enjoy I can just send you some links to peppa pig youtube videos for you to shit on.
Hi, my name is Carlos, excellent and very helpful video, thank you so much, one very basic question though, now that everything is closed down, how can we register our songs if the registration office is closed? Or is it ok to launch a song / EP without the copyright registration? Any advice? Thanks so much
Great stuff. I'd consider changing the pdf name to remove "LEAD MAGNET" from the filename, unless of course it's a deliberate nod to Graham's other business leg :)
CAn you mix my newest song “judo” ? It sounds good through headphones but in the car or stereo it doesn’t sound nearly as good. I mixed with monitors too. Sounds great through studio monitors wtf..I’ll pay $50-$100
This is extremely helpful. I’ve been creating since I was 11 and I’m finally releasing an EP at 31, 20 years later.
Thank you for this!
I'm finally making my first EP ... 2022 is gonna be amazing GOD WILLING HIT SONGS ON THE WAAAAY

Excited for you!

Do you have a manager?
you all probably dont give a shit but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..?

makes lots of sense to me from TRINIDAD& TOBAGO
This channel is awesome, greetings from Argentina!
This year I’m working more on my own things , like more in my project which is why I wanted to be a producer
Amazing amount of great advice packed into only 10 minutes! Especially like the "planning" and "set a deadline" part, and finally, "work with other artists / productions to promote each others work."
This has given me a goal this year, whilst re-mixing old daily mixed songs. Thanks guys ;-)

I'm interested in Ryan's course, could you send me more info please?
thanks!
@@mavbcn1790 the course is on monthly.com It's currently in session, I don't know when they'll do another one
I love how simple you made everything
Well I'm in step 9 which is distribution
alright, I am down with the Ill, great vibes and information
This was real helpful and positioned well.😊😊❤
One thing that I did not hear him mention is copyrighting. MAKE SURE YOU COPYRIGHT YOUR MATERIAL, artists!
Can I make my beats public domain and still keep it on the EP?

Backyard Llama... that was worth the entire Video...
Great tips, thank you so much! And thanks for the EP Guide! 👍
thank you for such a helpful video! it really helped me with my EP :)
Always bring the llama from your yard up in the mix... and cowbell... More Llama and Cowbell in the mix.

Could you turn old songs that's a year old into a new album today?? Without any problems on the distributions?? Or any other platforms from doing this

absolute legend, thanks so much!
Should the EP have a specific sound and theme? I'm thinking of releasing an EP and I have a few hardcore rap tracks and also melodic/pop tracks. Can I put them in the same EP?
not as an album, but not too mixed as a mixtape.
it should be exactly the middle point between those two
Very helpful. Thanks.
I dont know nothing about recording myself. I have my EP idea and songs skeletons all made. Just gotta go to the studio now but no $
Awesome and exciting. Thanks for the Ten Tips.

Thank You So Much ❤️
I want whatever voiceover filter you're using!
How to find artist management!? 💕
Thank you 🙏
I was wondering was there a reason you did not say anything about copyrights before releasing the song?

Great info, thanks. Dunno about that shirt though ;)
its the Miami vibe ;)
how early should someone upload their ep before release?
at least a week before.
you can set a release date at your distribution service
Nice one!
Haven't you done that before on this same channel ??
awesome!
Great information thank you 👍
Hey! As a songwriter , do I have to buy beats, record in the studio ..And then sell them ?
you sell only your lyrics.
Great video and well explained, but you haven't touch on protecting your song copyrights, and publishing organizations.

What does EP stand for
Extended play. It’s a mini album typically consisting of 3-5 songs. Bigger than a single, smaller than a long album (LP).
