  • This is one of two old homes a very cheerful and recently retired farmer let me film this day on his property out in country Victoria. I had just filmed one down next to his farm house after chatting with him and then made my way up the end of the dirt road to film this one. This one is a late Victorian style built around 1900 give or take a few years either side, it has been vacant/abandoned since the late 90`s it seems. It is still in original condition apart from an updated bathroom in the 70`s. Furniture/beds and appliances have been left behind giving it a time capsule feel. I also felt that an elderly couple lived here a long time in particular an elderly woman. The property owner did not go in to details about who last lived in it but he did mention he had some city folk inquire about buying it over the years. The other little dwelling I filmed before this one dates back in to the 1800`s and is still standing although in rough shape :-)

I want to live there . I remember visiting Mums old relatives in such places when my sisters and I were children . I can smell the old house smell . Somebody save it !!! Thanks for the post . I am in my 70s married a Canadian , miss New Zealand every day . Memories of childhood are increasingly vivid with age .

You are correct, the archways for air circulation, hearths covered in renovation, tinted glass panels, lock/latch sets that pre-date WW one, probably 90 years of occupation before is was left . Thanks to you and the owner for a very interesting look in.

Although I like and care about people, i prefer my place to have space from other people. This home needs taken back to its original. If it were mine..I'd take it to a level 8 in Light hearted quirk tho. I'd baby that beautiful arch in hallway and rooms lined in wood, I'd keep moisturised and looked after. I hope someone will buy and love it. Thanks and stay safe😸

Very nice house. Elegant. The exterior composition with the symmetry of the chimneys and the pitch of the roof, sets this house apart. The exterior cornice work is especially nice. A wonderful house all around. I liked the interior woodwork. In the USA the decorative carving of the living room fireplace surround, would indicate a probable date from the 1880's through the 1890's. Thank you for the opportunity to see this house. And thank the farmer again for me.

😭😭😭😭😭😭 So similar to my first house. Even the patterned ruby glass atop the door. And i still have some of it .Floor plan is exactly same. Ive since lived in many places but nothing else compared to that one. So big so much warmth. I knew the minute i walked in it was my home. Your vids bring me so many happy memories but they break my heart too. Mine was built in the late 1800s and was owned by the wealthiest family in the district. They built a monster mansion which is still there today and my house was relocated to the nxt town. 1908 it relocated to its current position. A grand old lady she was too. And will be for years to come

Oh so love it. Had one similar features (circa 1900). in the first winter a creek ran thru the dining room. I was very poor and simply redirected the creek and resolved the problem. No hot water to kitchen all very primitive. I came across amazing things such as newspaper under old vynil, bullets in the abandoned chair and when I first turned the power on the fabric covered electrical cord went like a fuse and blew up in a puff of smoke. The dunny was a thunderbox with crooked ivy covered brick walls you wouldn’t want to go there at night. But I was very happy there for many years. Let’s be real though these are money pits. I bought another one down the track and live here now it is also a money pit though in better condition but they are worth the money AND LOVE.

Urbex Indigo I’m not sure how I come across your channel but so glad I did. I’m on my last legs but my son is my carer so I can live my last days in this old house. (C1920). The old homes have soul. Nothing can compare to them. Mine envelopes me in her loveliness and shelters me in fond memories. And after seeing your voyage into old lost homes I have a perspective to wonder if years from now someone will stumble across my old home covered in ivy with abandoned leadlight kitchenettes or the metters wood stove or wainscoting or ceiling roses and think they were a part of a beautiful history as you do. I hope so. Thankyou.

I tend to agree that this home was built around the late 1800s. Looks as if it was lived in for many years with updates in several places. Love the archway and the stained and etched glass at the front door. I find it interesting that thee seem to often be bedrooms at the front of the houses you visit and that the living room is further into the home, I'm disappointed that the kitchen has been so updated that the old character has disappeared. It was nice to see the fireplace mantels were intact. They were very nicely carved. Another great explore. Thanks.

The fireplace mantels were amazing, the place is diffently old with that large fireplace in the kitchen which was probably for cooking. Very nice of the farmer to share his property with us today. Oh, be still my heart! You are handsome! :-D My parents had a white rotary phone in the kitchen with the miles long phone cord. Trying to talk to a friend or boyfriend with eavesdropping mom or siblings was always a challenge. lol This house is definitely late Victorian, 20ish modern bathroom and the old washing machine looks like the one I had that recently gave up the ghost. Love the curved hallway and stained glass. :-DThe pink walls are so pretty. :-) There's something about pink that sets my nerves afire. I swear, Paul. every time I happen to walk though an unseen cobweb I do a week's worth of cardio to get it off. lol The dialing sound reminds me of Pink Floyd's song. Lol The fireplace mantle is absolutely gorgeous! I never get sick of looking at old archways either. The mantels in the old home are absolutely gorgeous. There's nothing like looking at some beautiful old hardware and hearing cows bullring in the distance. lol ease thank your new mate, the farmer for letting you film this amazing home. :-) After my mother's death a few weeks ago, I had a reining event with one of the horses and I won the competition. Another rider who has a bad reputation for being a sore loser, decided to make me his target. As I was being congratulated by the other competitors, the sore loser pushed my young stallion into me and we both slammed into a concrete wall in the alleyway. I suffered a bad concussion and was hospitalized for a few days for observation. I have a small brain bleed, and am taking some much needed time off from work to heal. I had a 1250 pound stallion broad sided into me. The doctor's were stunned that I was still alive and talking. I've got two bad black eyes, courtesy of the concussion and look like I could have been a contender. *Chuckle* I laugh because he didn't get away with it. I pressed assault charges in the sore loser and he's being charged with attempted murder. He'll be looking at 15 years behind bars, just for starters. He will be made to pay my hospital bills and any subsequent illness as a result. It's not wise to hurt a LEO. I do humbly apologize for having to tell you about this. My heart will heal in time and my body will be back and strong as I have Faith. :-) I do so look forward to your next adventure! :-D

Stunning old time-capsule. The red stained glass was nice. Extra thanks to the farmer who gave permission for your explore. He has done well preserving and protecting the past. Winter is definitely the time to document this rural homestead. Snake territory if I've ever seen it. Here in the state of Michigan, USA, we have only one venomous snake to worry about. It's a variety of the pygmy rattlesnake, the Massasauga. It won't normally kill an adult, just make them really sick. I enjoyed this video, especially the sound of the cattle in the background at the beginning.
