Yes! 🤣🤣 im pushing 30 and barely heard this song a taco bell the other day 🤣🤣 and all i could hear was andersons panty dropping voice. Had to search the song n now im here 🤣💪
I like how his sheer charisma and lack of malice wins half the room over instantly. Even Anderson can’t help but catch on to the fun when he brought Bowie into the picture
if you've never heard the original version of the song hes singing do yourself a favor and listen to it. youll understand why this part of the movie is pure gold... Song is Space Oddity by David Bowie RIP Brother
Saw this movie as a kid. Realized it was meant to be some iconic song but I didn't really care. I just listened to space oddity for the 1st time ever in my 32 years. Now im obsessed with David Bowie and this scene. Pure gold.

This movie was a big part of my childhood. My older brother would put it on every other week. Also, hard to believe it has already been 5 years since we lost Bowie. Where does the time go, my friends?
Me and my cousin have been watching this since we we 6-9 years old (25 now) we can quote this movie all day lol. Rip david bowie this movie got us to love his music
I saw this when it was in theaters and that scene had me on the floor. The actor, who played Anderson (Erick Avari) is currently on The Chosen as Nicodemus.
This is Major Tom to ground control.... I'm stepping through the do-o-or... I'm flouting in most peculiar way... And the stars look very different Todaaay...🎶
Finally found this, LoLoLoL. I've been looking for the part where the pilots clap for years. 🤣 So damn funny for me it stuck in my head even though I haven't seen this movie again for almost 2 decades...I need to watch this again, I can't find it in my Sandler's collection...ugh.
This is the first time I heard this song, got Sandler's version of it stuck in my head lol. Had to come check in to one of his best movies, new ones don't do it like they did..
This film came out in 2002, so it was filmed throughout 2001, which means during the 2001 season, the Jets and Dolphins were both playoff teams and the Patriots ended up winning the Super Bowl for the first time with a rookie Tom Brady.
The original is one of my favourite movies of all time, but I do really like this ... like what this film does with Emilio and Anderson, two major differences in character. Check out Mr Deeds Goes to Town if you've never seen it.
0:31 Why are they talking directly into each other’s faces? I know they are being secretive but c’mon. Imagine how goofy they look from where Sandler is standing. Leaning in talking to each other with their faces less than an inch apart.
I think this was the first DVD I ever owned just by myself, not the family. I watched this so many times, and I remember watching this scene on repeat on my little portable DVD player with a friend at a sleepover, and then we both sang it on repeat, and my sister and her friend got so annoyed with us. That was before I actually knew this song, I knew it from this movie first. 💀
20 years later, Anderson's singing still sticks with us.
Beautiful voice.
That’s right.

I’m crying

“What do you got in that pipe? Hashish!?” 😂😂😂😂 gets me every time!
And Anderson says, "Yep" after he asks him.
@@fortis6258 No he doesn't. You might be hearing the other bloke say "You're" with the P of "paranoid" afterwards and thinking its a "yep"
When I first saw it as a kid, I thought he said, “What do you got in that pipe, huh? Sheesh…”
Lol you're paranoid
I watched this in a movie theater, I was shocked at how many people sang along with this part. It was hilarious!
You know you've made it in life when your looking out the window of a helicopter singing major tom into a banana

Cecil Anderson’s solo will always stand out
This scene really made me like Erick Avaris character, especially when he chimed in with his melodic sining
Yes, i dare say his contribution to the scene is better than bowie's
I loved him during the tennis match.
Erick Avaris he's Jedi.

jet? really?

Listen closely to Sandler as the pilots clap. Funny stuff!
I saw this when it was in theaters and that scene had me on the floor. The actor, who played Anderson (Erick Avari) is currently on The Chosen as Nicodemus.
This was the best part of the entire movie, probably because it is the only scene in this movie that I can still remember after 15 years.
Is it bad that I heard it on the radio and instantly thought of this scene?
"in da-mosta-paculiar weaay"
how the hell is this movie 20 years old already?
This scene is funny in so many ways 🤣
THAT'S RIGHT ANDERSON :D! xD
the jets still suck
Robert Kite they just lost another game today.

Ah I miss the days when Adam Sandler wasnt a complete hack.
Party pooper!
***** Happy Gilmore was
He’s mellow now
I do miss his old films. Thank God for DVDs lol
When he actually tried to make good movies.
That manic excitement on Andersons face when he knows the guitar riff is up kills me every time.

I drive pilots at my job and I got them to clap when the song comes to that part. I wish I could get on a plane and do a TikTok to it 😂😂😂
Probably my favorite scene in this whole movie!
Space Oddity is the song, if anybody’s interested.
Fun fact: This song came out in 1969 same year Jets won Superbowl
