I love how Luis Gil isn’t getting any Rookie love. Totally underrated
You could've just put this in one comment lmao
Injuries for the Braves this year (Ignoring day-to-day): Combine this with several hitters slumping at the same time and the impact of the deadened ball for a home run reliant offense, you can see why/how they are struggling. Without Ozuna they are probably a 0.500 team.
Ronald Acuna Jr - ACL2 Out for Season
Spencer Strider - TJ Out for Season
Sean Murphy - Oblique Missed 2 Months Injured Opening Day
Ozzie Albies - Fractured Toe Missed 2 Weeks
Pierce Johnson - Elbow Missed 2 Weeks
Tyler Matzek - Elbow 60 Day still out currently
Austin Riley - Injured but was never IL did not play for 2-3 weeks (odd)
AJ Smith Shawver - Oblique Still out unknown
AJ Minter - Hip 15 Day IL out currently
As an aside, Morton has not been good heading into his retirement.
Need a full video on the resurgence of David Dahl 😉
I usually agree with Rose on most things baseball, but him saying Royce Lewis is no question a top 10 talent in baseball was crazy. The best ability is availability. Then them saying he’d go top 10 in a draft? Asinine
Absolutely crazy. I commented something similar and people are defending it by saying “they said skill-wise”……and? You can’t put Royce’s skills anywhere near that level in only an 80 game sample size.
Honest to God I thought they were talking about Acuna (I was a lil high) until Trev mentioned Acuna. Top 10? Wtf bro
And I was like, do you mean top 5????? It made a little bit more sense when I realized it was Royce, but he is no way a top 10 player
Saying Royce Lewis is on the same level as Judge or Ohtani is insane. No one is on Judge's level right now.
Judge has dreams of having Royce's talent
@@thewisemanpaul hahaha
@@thewisemanpaulnow that is an indefensible hot take. lol.
“Thank god you’ll be confident after this. I’ve been worried about ya.”
HA! Primo ball-busting there by Rose!
The old school Angel hat, well done Chris
the drag of baseballs is affecting barrels at greater than 30 degree launch angles to where they fall for outs a lot more frequently. But that hasn't necessarily been the braves problem (except for Michael Harris patented floaty left-center fly balls he relied on previously) , the braves have been bottom 3 mlb unlucky on lower angle barrels too. but this definitely isnt all their problem, a lot of it is bad approaches at the plate etc idk really
Skenes has only played one team above .500. 2 of which are against the ice cold cubs.
Trev’s commitment to slurping up the twins slop is both painful to watch and respectable
Brewers not a w.s. team?....they got swept by the Phillies but those were three of the best games I've ever watched...could have been a brewers sweep if not for a butterfly wing....go for it crew
If we trade Willy it will be the worse mistake we can make, Contreras will definitely walk when his deal is up. They're best friends I think we will make a big push to resign him this offseason so that Contreras resigns in a few years
In terms of Adames, it goes beyond the clubhouse. Brewers fans truly adore Willy, and he is a huge draw to the ball park
18 second intro with no sound is odd. Makes me wonder if my headphones stopped working

this shouldn’t be my main takeaway from the video but huh i’ve never seen a youtuber get sponsored by aeropress before, as a female college student it’s probably the first ad ive ever seen on here before that would actually be practical for me, and from my experience that thing ROCKS, def worth the money if you want to be a coffee snob lol
You just need to go one more year back to make it 4 and 4 for 1st place/wildcard World Series appearances
Adames should go to the Padres they always need more shortstops
Weird that Rose didn't mention Cowser's game winning homer last night against Atlanta
Braves need to be one of the first teams to make a trade this year. They need an infusion from someone not on the roster to help jolt the other guys (a RF who can hit RHP)
To many injuries just like everyone else not being consistent with the bats
The majority of the Braves hitters are inconsistent . Such as Kelenic, Riley, Olson, Arcia, Ozzie, Murphy, and Duvall. They don't reach bases like Acuña and Freeman.
Freeman, not a Brave bro, he has been a Dodger now for a hot minute. The Braves, with most of the same players, had a historic offense last year. Acuna went down in 2021 with ACL and still win the world series without him. Bunch of those same guys, are still in this lineup. They are just slumping as a team. Rather it be now, but I'm hoping we wake up soon and guys who are far more capable, start just playing ball! There is no lack of talent here even with some injuries, it's still a very good team. I expect AA to be active and add another arm to the rotation and probably add another solid outfielder to help infuse this team. If the Bats wake up, they can play with anyone. We will see as the season unfolds.
Under the radar rookie pick - Masyn Winn
Saying that someone who has played 80 games in the big leagues is on the same level as Mookie, Acuna, etc is absolutely insane.
They didn’t say that. They said he is a top 10 talent when healthy (which I disagree with). Those are different things.
@@ericmcclellan690110:55 exact quote:
“We’re talking on the same level as a Mookie Betts, an Aaron Judge, a Juan Soto, a Ronald Acuna Jr. He is on that level skill-wise”
Did you even listen?
@@RyanDudziak "skill-wise"
@@griffinhays2053dude said it in his own comment lmao SKILL WISE
@@griffinhays2053 how is this an argument? “Skills” are what makes those players great. You can’t say someone who has only played 80 games is on the same level as those guys when he hasn’t put together a season of work. Plenty of guys have put together great 80 game stretches and then been a complete bust after.
To say that the numbers for a lot of these rookies aren’t great, but Gil is one of the best pitchers in the league right now is also ridiculous
Had to comment twice, huh?
@@thewisemanpaul and you had to reply to both, huh?
@@thewisemanpaul yea, I thought about the rest after and wanted to express that as well
I tried going to Cuts but they wouldn't take the promo code, something about another sale going on. BAD SPONSOR
No accuna
Willy is going no fucking where
Royce Lewis is the Byron Buxton of infielders. Infinite talent, never healthy.
Keeper league? Jackson Holliday.
Twins players and health? A tale as old as time
Look, we all enjoy watching Skenes pitch, but you do not need to include a discussion on him in every single episode.
Ohh 😮
Yeah, why discuss one of the brightest upcoming stars?…
Yes we do
@@Marz997 don’t have a problem talking about him in general, but every episode is too much
Talk skenes all you want, but don't ever ever ever talk Livvy dunne
Braves need a vocal leader on the team. None of the starters have that leader mentality and Snitker isn’t an emotional guy either. Plenty of talent but not enough dogs!
With the Braves, this has been a very pathetic first half. Ron Washington did what Snitker doesn’t do and actually challenged guys and killed complacency. This year, they seemed like they had arrived and have nothing to prove due to their past accomplishments….(or lack these past two years🤔). They have a lot to prove and maybe they’re playing tight and trying to replicate last year….they should relax and go out there and play. These guys aren’t the juggernaut this year, they better learn to play with some grit, heart, and scrappiness this year. These guys would be okay, if they had some heart and dignity.
carne ge sou trevvv(im not spelling it right but spanish beef stew
Almost every single time the Padres do well these guys ignore them. And when they finally have to talk about the padres because of an awesome moment like a rookie walk off homer they immediately have to derail the conversation to talk about the dodgers. And plouffe has the nerve to say they don't talk about Yamamoto enough? They talk about him more than entire teams, hell they talk about him more than the Padres as a whole. Y'all couldn't give Merrill his props? Why did it immediately have to go to "Yamamoto is doing super well and he's underrated"?
Cry jfc. The Padres have been playing .500 ball all season, that's not necessary to talk much about. And as a Giant fan, I can honestly say I don't think Yamamoto gets talked enough about at all.
They generally don’t talk about teams that are completely mediocre ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@bentley230 except they do whenever those teams play well or have an impressive string of games. They consistently ignore the pads, take a look at when they repeatedly hyped up the weekend series against the dodgers a few weeks ago and when the Padres beat the dodgers it was crickets, nada. If a team's around .500 but kicks one of the best teams asses, or gets back to back walk off home runs, one off of one of the most hyped closers in baseball, you'd expect them to cover it more substantially, they would if it was the Mets, the Cubs, the dbacks, any other mediocre team.
@@thelonelyphish First of all, appreciate you watching the show. Might want to check an earlier episode this week where we talked about Fernando Tatis Jr. and whether he's, "all the way back". For a team barely above .500, we actually talk about the Padres a lot.
@@chrisrose742 fair nuff, I was just really excited to hear the pod's opinion on Jackson Merrill. He had such a great game but the conversation immediately derailed to talking about whether one of the most popular and hyped up pitchers gets enough media attention, yall spent more time talking about a dodgers star pitcher than the rookie who just walked it off against mason miller. I get that the big market teams get talked about more but it feels deliberate that the majority of the full segments the Padres get are about how much of a stain Tatis' PED suspension is on his legacy while the good things are just mentioned in passing if at all.
Love my Braves but they’re absolutely pathetic right now. 🤮
Japanese veterans should be barred from ROY. It should be given to new professionals, like Masyn Winn. Elite defense at shortstop, and batting over .300 with one of the best 2 strike batting averages in the game.
I guess that could happen but then their NBP stats should count towards their MLB stats
Of course the Braves are sucking it up now that it’s the Phillies turn to win 100 plus but when the Mets do it they go out and win 100 plus 🤣
Of course
LolMets
Lol Braves
@@noodler5583 how it goes lol
Remember NLDS vs Phillies where Arcia couldn’t take the heckling from Phils fans? This team is immature and has no leadership. Acuna is selfish and all about personal stats. Love Ozzie and Riley, but they aren’t enough. Lost a lot when Freddie and Dansby walked
Riley has been ass this season. Don’t forget about losing Eric Young and Ron Washington…
@@Leonardo2003 losing Wash sucked too. But I’m looking at guys like Acuna, Arcia, Harris. Good players obviously but they’re missing something. And Acuna is the most selfish player I’ve ever seen
@@user-bj8qp4fg6m That’s your perception of Ronald. First he was lazy, but you can’t use that when he won MVP, now he’s selfish. Give something true to support your claim.
@@jeremiah_12 well he was lazy and got a ton of flak for it so he’s corrected himself. Hes talked openly about wanting to be famous and achieving personal goals. Never talks about winning a WS. In fact the first thing he said after this most recent ACL tear was that he’d be back and hopefully win another MVP… it’s all about Ronald.
@@user-bj8qp4fg6m Dude, he wrote a whole article about how he wanted to win a WS with his team this year.
Are you guys going to address the the climate activists storming the field in DC?
Oh no the braves aren’t winning every game they play😢😢 womp womp
You DO NOT want to win the division in baseball. Getting that bye is a terrible disadvantage. Getting a wild card spot is your best shot of winning the WS
Karma is going on with the braves 😂😂😂😂
