Sold my Beast and have used the 1.0 and 3 double sticks for 2 years. Love it and it’s a great system. They also make 32 inch sticks if you want longer ones.
Just bought a 1.0 on Black Friday and saved $100, bought a 4 pack of XOP X3's for $140 at the same time, they stack together with the slide lock clips and I have them attached to the stand with J-hooks. Weighs in at 20.8lbs even with the full size sticks!
Tip for the Side lock Clips. File the corners down . They will cut everything you own to Pieces. Car Seats, straps, Hands, . I know from Experience I took mine off and went with Jason's Pool noodle Idea and stack them with two B straps
A lwcg stand paired with their sticks is unbeatable on ease of packability and no rattle the way they mount onto the stand and only use the stands buckle strap to hold them on was some great thinking.
Just like everything else nowadays, I got sticker shocked when I looked up how much the 1.0 costs. Great looking stand and well thought out, but I bought my XOP Vanish Evolution 2.5 years ago for $150. I acknowledge the XOP stand is cast and not machined, but from what I can tell it has all the same features as the 1.0 LWCG. With inflation hitting hard, it's tough to cough up six bills for a stand that weighs a couple pounds lighter.
Agree the xop stands are fantastic and still affordable. It's hard to justify the costs of alot of stuff today. Stand, broadheads, appliances, trucks etc. It's all brutal expensive
I have a .5 with a ewo 1 stick and rappel best combo ever. This is the future of mobile hunting. Now we just wait for the guys to make a cabless treestand and carbon hybrid hangon for ultimate light weight system.
Yep all depends on your needs. Mobile huntingnis all I do and with me doing over 30 all day sits a year and another 50 5-6 hour sits I want a different system so I use what a full size stand and 3 full size sticks. The extra 6 pounds means nothing to me. And most of my spots are between 1 and 2.5 miles in the swamp now that I live in the south. Its good to want light weight stuff but don't sacrifice hunt ability to save a couple pounds. Sounds like you have your system dialed in perfect for your needs.
It out shines the beast stand in everything but weight. It locks to the tree. Offset bracket is way better. Traction. And so on. Great job on the comparison
I have a .5 and a .75 and they are the best things I have done when it comes to upgrading my stands. I use them as a pack and use the seat to store my clothing. I sit when I shoot so I don't mind the smaller platforms, and I take my oldest son with me and do double sits in a tree with him and the .5 is excellent for him to carry and sit in. Jason, I know you love the three step sticks from the original LW I would be interested to see you get the 1.0 and a set of the newer LWCG three step sticks that integrate to the platform and see what you think of that. Great video.
You’re the reason I got the assault 2 as my first stand, but when I wanted something smaller and lighter, I went with the .5. Recently switched to the .75 because the longer platform length allows for the proper use of load lifters when used as a packframe for backpack hunts/meat hauling.
That .75 is very impressive. With me being in big snake boots all the time I feel I'm needing more width to move and spin on stand for deer. So I think the 1.0 would be the right one for me. My assault is absolutely perfect width and size.
Really like my .75. The pack abilities are amazing ! I just got mine in October and probably have 30 sets in it, have been comfortable most of the time, longest set was probably 5 hours. Like I said before, for long periods on stand my Assault 2 is great! If you get the 1.0 you will love it! Be sure to make a video when you get it!
I’ve been using the 1.0 for the last three seasons dot very satisfied! Even with the Champer, I still need to do a tow lift 90% of the time to snug it against the tree. it’s never been an issue for me though. My only real criticism with the LWC stand is that the seat pad did not even last one season.
I actually like the more narrow profile of the beast stand. I find it catches less on brush, and I feel more comfortable with a longer narrow platform rather than a shorter and wider platform. I think 2 more inches of length is better than .5" of width. I think it's pretty funny that half of an inch is that important to you. I guess I would have a hard time noticing that, I know I would notice the platform length though. And I might notice if it was 8 ounces heavier, where you don't care too much about that.. 😁 I guess everyone is different! The gripping on the platform is nice. I don't notice much for slipping but I have noticed the smoothness of it sometimes leads to some squeaks on my boots if they are wet. I did add a paracord wrap on the front edge of my Beast stand instead of stealth strips. I feel like it helps deadens any small noises on the stand and it also provides a raised edge on the front stand so you can feel where you are at on the stand without looking down. Absolutely love my beast stand! That being said, I would love to try out a LWCG 1.0 or .75 and do some rigorous testing on them!
Yep many great stands out there to fit everyone's needs. I love my beast stand. But after 2 years in it all it took was one sit in my assault (3 inches wider I think) for me to fall in love with the extra width again. A half inch wouldn't matter much to me but 3 inches is a big difference. For me if I were buying a stand today it would be a lwcg 1.0.
Just finished my first season with my .75 and it went flawless. Outstanding tree stand quality is top notch comfy enough for me. Hunted out of a saddle for the previous 7 years and I definitely prefer my .75. Paired with latitude sticks and this is a crazy light and durable stand. I watched Michigan great outdoors on his reviews for the custom gear stand and then pulled the trigger happy I did. Don't miss my saddle at all.
Great review, I've probably watched all your stand related clips now and trying to decide between .5 .75 and 1.0 for a stand. Turned out saddle hunting doesn't work too great for me just like you said, hanging on the ass hammock makes me shifting and fiddling + the tree is filling half the view. I'm 5'11", somewhat overweight but fairly agile. Size 12 foot and hunting down to 0F or bit lower. Sole of my boot does fit on the .75 sideways, mainly I worry if the cables get too narrow to stand up close to tree and lean for a bit if I want to.
I think the .75 is a half inch wider than the beast stand so it's not very bad. The 1.0 I just bought has more room between the cables than my lw assault does! I love love love the 1.0
I will say this. I don’t own a treestand, and I am a saddle hunter. It’s VERY hard for me to not buy one of those LWCG stands just to have one, and use for all day sits, and particular trees/areas that a stand would be better in.
I have the .5 LWCG it works best for me with the costume seat post sizes and seats you can't beat it. I think it's the best you can get! You can go wrong with .5 .75 1.0 they are all great stands. Hopefully they will have the gift cards again for 100.00 off this Christmas!! Great video Jason Merry Christmas
Had them all thru the years. Nothing bites the tree like a Beast stand. You never know what kinda tree you will end up in and with the beast stand I feel more confident and safer. But each is own lwcg is a nice stand my cousin had 1.0 and sold it for the beast stand. It just simply bites a tree better
The beast stand is a great stand. I love mine. But would like to try a 1.0. I need wider than the beast now that I hunt in the south and in snake boots 99% of the time
Great review. The only issue with these stands is the cost. I just cant justify changing from my Assaults to either of these options because of the cost. Bottmoline, Im not going to see more or kill more or bigger bucks with either of these stands.
And honestly I personally believe the assault is the best stand ever make. I dont think anything today is better. If novix brought back the original assault design I would sell all my other stands and buy 2 of them.
I've been toe hooking treestands for almost 40 years and I've never had a problem I'm also an ironworker and I do rigging for a living the first thing you learn is never bounce your rigging so in my opinion stomping your tree stands into the tree to get it to bite is dumber than doing the toe hook
I may not of been an iron worker. But I bet there are less that 5% of people in the word that hang as many tree stands as I do and have. And I think toe hooking is an un necessary failure in stand design. And as you are gonna start seeing more this year with new stands coming out. Many feel the same way. If a stand has to be toe hooked it's a failure and designed wrong.
@@SamkoTradBow I would agree with it being a bad design it would be nice if we didn't have to do any of that but it is what it is people need to realize to make sure the strap is at a 90 the platform's level and the post is plumbed before you get in it at all so no matter which method you use always tie off and be safe and have fun out there thanks for the videos
I was hoping you never did this. The lone wolf custom gear blows the beast gear out the water, both expensive but not even close for features. Quality maybe the same but I think custom still better. And I don’t own either and probably never will can’t afford it but you can just see it. I’m still running the assault and I’ll probably have to for a long time
Both are excellent stands. But honestly I don't think any stand is worth buying if you already have an assault. I want to try a lwcg 1.0 but since I already own 2 assault stands that are basically identical I can't justify buying the 1.0. I'm retired and have to watch my money. But if I can swing or find a deal on one I might try to get one. But I would ve 100% OK hunting the rest of my life in an assault.

Does the lwcg have an feature to lock it into a seated position to use as a chair for ground hunting? I thought I read somewhere that was a feature.
