- Our last day at Walt Disney World is spent at Animal Kingdom, and the day started at 37 degrees. FREEXING for these SoCal locals. We hit Pandora and Flight of Passage first, then the Safari Tour, Expedition Everest (Might be my favorite roller coaster now), Festival of the Lion King and even Tough to be a Bug. Amazing day and an amazing week.

Hopefully, he just left it off the video, because hearing him say it’s only a one-day park and then hearing them say how tired they were and having missed so many of the beautiful animal exhibits was frustrating.
The trails are the best part. I know that if I lived in Florida (which will never happen but if I did), animal kingdom would be my go to park when I wanted to just go outside and walk around and chill. You’re definitely missing out on a LOT of this is your one day park. But that’s just more for next time

Liz asked at the end if we enjoyed her input and I know i did for sure. Brought back so many memories of having my daughter and grandchildren in a coach and running around at the parks when they were sofia’s age. What I wouldn’t give to have tapes of that. Did you just remember to bring what looked like a warm coat and gloves for Sofia or did you buy it there? I kept thinking what an amazing gift to have this all on tape to remember and share with her over the years. It reminded me of having the tape of David and Liz meeting and falling in love. Thank you for all the joyful times your family shares with us and the memories it brings back.

I loved Expedition Everest I rode it over and over again at least 10 times using the single rider line last time I was there.
"Rivers of Light" has been gone for a while. Most recently, that show area was used for Kite Tails, which is now also gone.
Another commenter mentioned the trails, and they're a must-do when you return. Gorilla Falls (formerly Pangani Forest) (Africa), and Maharaja Jungle Trek (Asia) are breathtaking. Gorilla Falls looks like a safari camp, with stunning views of a family and a bachelor group of gorillas. Maharaja is set in the ruins of an Indian palace, with tigers roaming the garden and fountains. They are both jaw-dropping.
And that fortress-like building on the island in Asia that caught your attention on the way to Everest is actually one of the primate habitats. They swing and climb freely all over the island.

Animal Kingdom is another example of a park that has really grown on me the older I have gotten. When we went initially over 10yrs ago Animal Kingdom felt more like a Disney-fied version of San Diego's Lion Country safari but the additions of Expidition Everesett and Pandora have really taken this park to a whole new level. NOT a fan of Dion land USA and couldn't stop shaking my head that it was a wasted oppertunity to really do something fun and fantastic.
Fun fact. I raise and show Oberhasli goats! I love that Disney has them!

Glad you liked it! What a fun trip. Since I subscribed back in 2015 I always hoped you would get to visit WDW one day and glad you finally did. There's still so much to see. All the hotels and restaurants, and activities. You'll have to visit again many times!

Oh hooray- you have the Animal Kingdom video up! Love that park, it's so pretty! I loved Avvatar and loved Flight of Passage. What I got sick on was Everest!! It was fun while I was riding it, but both my husband and I had to sit down for several minutes afterwards to get our stomachs back!! Love the Safari too. It was funny that the wildebeast were jumping around when you were there. That's how they are in the wild, but every time I've seen them they are just standing still LOL. Great video. Thanks! 😀

That island with all the scaffolding around it is where little monkeys come out and go to town. It is one of my favorite memories of the park and it's a really shame they weren't there when you were. Amazing video tho really brought the essence of the park.

Animal Kingdom is the crown jewel of WDW. It's everything you expect from Disney. Complete immersion, blown out detail, exciting locales, always something new to discover.... I hope without Joe that it stays this way.

My son said Animal Kingdom was his favorite park. He’s a Huge Pandora fan. With the new Oandora movie out, they might expand Pandora with one or two rides! Ya gotta give it to the man, Joe Rhode and the other Imagineers for Animal Kingdom. They are the Bomb. It’s a shame Joe retired?
We had the same safari guide on our trip last week. It was our first time there as well.
I love flight of passage and kilimanjaro safari. My friend love the bird show at the tree of life but screams when they fly low lol

They once had a boat ride through the river. Now all that’s left are odd decorations on the bank left bad shape. Think natures wonderland from Disneyland.
There used to be a river taxi, it was sort of an equivalent to the people mover but people expected more of a ride; it eventually was closed due to lack of interest. Now the flotillas are all that the river is used for.
My cousin and I went to Animal Kingdom for the first time last year. Your reaction to Everest was the same as ours. As soon as the ride was over, we ran back on the ride. 😂 I wish we had it here. 😁

My first trip to animal Kingdom was back during their opening year. There actually used to be a boat ride on the river that goes around the park. I feel the same way about Expedition Everest as you do. An amazing roller coaster!
Been to Avatar Twice and the last time the Na’vi went limp as we were approaching…I know Sophia could not stay until after dark but Avatar at night is even more spectacular with all the fluorescent colors everywhere..you have got to see that next time.
Fresh, back in the beginning, there WERE boats on those rivers you could take. But that "ride" didn't last too many years.

I was getting a little worried that Animal Kingdom was going to end up on the cutting room floor. But we got it! What a nice finish to a great week. Hope you can do it again in the not too distant future.
I almost threw up on Expedition Everest, so I only rode it twice! I can’t help but think that the backwards part of guardians of the galaxy cosmic rewind, would cause the same nausea.

FreshBaked. David, Liz, Sofia. For some of the paths at Pandora the way they split and come back again. Remind's me of the paths on Tom Sawyer Island. Do the mountains still float? Expedition Everest, David you looked like you had dressed to join Sir Edmond Hillary way up on top there. Dino Land, is why Disney should never be allowed to build anything ever again. Scary if the 5th park looked like this. How can Disney leave this area so bad and charge full ticket price? Sorry, thats a sore point with me. Did you film a tour of the lodge or the return flight? I understand that it's not for everybody. For the first couple years, the 3d was in line for Flight of Passage. It has slowly misaligned, which stinks.

David never have been to Disney World. I've seen all your videos from D.W., but this one is it..OMG absolutley beautiful. Now I'd go just for Animal Kingdon. WOW....!

My fav wdw park is Animal Kingdom, fav wdw land is Africa and also World Showcase. I hang out at both often. Fav restaurant is definately Boma and fav ride no longer exists. It was Splash Mt. I do love Country Bear Jamboree for pure nostalgia because it takes me back to my days at Disneyland back in the 70s and 80s. I hope you guys get to come again soon 😊🌴🌺🐊
I loved Animal Kingdom as well. I really loved loved loved the character dinner safari style and the safari in the truck with everybody else on my God I love the little baby white rhino “ranger” had just been born when we were there. I love Animal Kingdom I love avatar I love everything about it. Yes I loved Mount Everest as well and I loved a dig dig dig those little dwarfed are so adorable. We loved Epcot as well but animal kingdom because me and my son the whole time it was so great thank you for sharing your adventures. ❤

We have yet to go to Animal Kingdom but it’s on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. The most intense roller coaster I have ever been on was Velocicoaster at Universal Islands of Adventure. It blew me away.

When we went in last week of September 2020, flight of passage was always a 5 minute-15 minute wait. Waited longer for the River journey LOL
ExEv is the BEST! Avatar came and made it a lot easier to wait in line for. It totally ruined me for Matterhorn. The 'Horn is a yawner compared to ExEv.
Everest is an amazing ride. But imagine what it was like when, briefly, all the effects were working! The bird circling over the broken track at the top, the massive yeti arm swooping down over you as you pass by it (without the disco ball strobe lighting). It was an even more magical ride.
Because most people arrive AND leave AK early, we love staying late and riding Everest 10 times in a row (because there was practically no line. [This was pre-Pandora so I don’t know if more people stay later or not]

Finally got time to sit and watch this and it’s wonderful. David riding Everest for the first time might be my favorite Fresh Baked moment ever, and is everything Disney Parks are for. Loved it. So much joy!
Finally went to all the disney world parks and yeah Animal Kingdom is my favorite. The theming is second to none and I love the natural theming of all the zoo areas. They just really need to improve or replace dinoland (with a north american animals area?) And maybe one other continent/region of animals (Australia?) and it would be perfect imho. It is clear that Disney imagineering concepts for a Zoo are amazing they need to do more of that.

Unpopular opinion: Animal kingdom is my favorite park in Orlando, and Expedition Everest is the greatest ride in all parks ever (sorry not sorry to Midway Mania or Runaway Railway)

Next time go thru the que on Everest ride so cool and they have live Bats. YAK YETI has good chinese food. Nonad lounge supposed to have best churros.

Hey FB, this your first trip to WDW in over 30 years? Wow! Sorry, the weather is so cold. I used to go during “winter” vacations and it would always be freezing!!! Two years in a row…it was actually, as cold or colder than where I was traveling from, Boston. Can you imagine? Keep warm and keep enjoying! I first went to WDW in ‘75, DL in ‘96 and Paris in ‘01. Been living in Singapore for the past 13 years and have since visited Hong Kong (AP holder), Tokyo and Shanghai more times than the domestic Parks. If you head out to Asia, let me know!!!

I literally bawled my eyes out when I saw Pandora for the first time.
Thank you to all 3 of you for an amazing time. It makes me want to go lol, but the flight is so long from Vancouver, BC. But comparing prices on Expedia its actually cheaper to go to Walt Disney World, go figure lol One day 🙂
Na'Vi River Run is a not-terrible retheme for Grizzly River Run in DCA when they inevitably turn the Redwoods into the Blue Woods
