A fiam bölcsőjénél (At My Son's Cradle) by Ady Endre
Hűs lugasban, vén, nyári napon,
Aludj, mikor az apád altat,
Kicsi fiam:
Felleg-bölcsőd sírva ringatom.
Álom-testecskédet legyezem,
Csókokra emlékszem, melyekből,
Kicsi fiam,
Nem hívott elő a szerelem.
Hogy ködből vagy és sohse valál,
Sohse fájt így szegény apádnak,
Kicsi fiam,
Közel lehet hozzá a Halál.
Édes magzat-vágyak teltenek,
Csak téged kiván már a csókom,
Kicsi fiam,
Aludj, aludj, vén apád beteg.
Vén nyár, vén sors, magtalan apa:
Akartad-e valaha látni;
Kicsi fiam;
Kóbor, bús apádat valaha?
Halál leseng e nyári napon,
Mintha én feküdnék bölcsődben,
Kicsi fiam,
S álom-arcocskád cirógatom.
Please note that I do not have a translation and would be grateful for one.
thanks a lot for this lied in hungarian.
Lovely, expressive singing. Thank you for posting this sing. I wrote a book on Bretan's one-act operas and correspond with Judit often. But, I have never seen that photo. Where did you find it?
@meistersinger The photo is of Viktor Ullman, the Austrian-Czech composer, another wonderful humanity figure with a very tragic fate. Incomprehensible personal associations from my side.
@Arashi110 Ah, thank you. I read with sadness how Ullman died. So many great artists have been killed who only meant to bring beauty to the world. Thanks for the clarification.
