      Once upon a time,
      an unknown but certainly Legendary Rally-Cross car,
      far from it's natural habitat,
      did a donut on a racetrack ,even if that track was very narrow......
      Not only the room was barely enough for any car to achieve a donuts*
      [360 degrees controlled rotation].
      But he, the yet unknown legendary car, did it during a special event where *The internet's watchers* were carefully watching and judging his recklessness behavior...
      .....
      ....Time was now nothing less than missing for me to find a better way to conclude this comment.....
      ...
      Perhaps, you would like to learn a new thing today?

    The most surprising car for me is the Bugatti Type 35B from 1927. It ran so fast it had beaten the 1988-era formula racer. That is nothing short of amazing!

    • @RWBHere
      @RWBHere 5 років тому +1

      @Gerry Cristostomo - Same here. Years ago, I lived in a city in the Southwest of England. Someone there used to drive a Bugatti Type 35 into town every day, in good weather. It kept up with the traffic, even at 70 mph. The brakes had to be treated with care though. Those cars can be phenomenal for something so old.

    • @emopenguingames2895
      @emopenguingames2895 5 років тому +16

      Well, the Formula cars are kind of restricted on how fast they can go.. Its still amazing how fast the Bugatti can go, its just mildly disappointing the Formula Cars can never really go to their true speeds because of Safety..

    • @givemeajackson
      @givemeajackson 5 років тому +7

    • @andwestuk
      @andwestuk 5 років тому +5

      The only reason it beat Michael Schumacher's 1992 F1 car is because a woman was driving it

    • @andwestuk
      @andwestuk 5 років тому +2

      @@emopenguingames2895 Nonsense . None of the cars are restricted on speed at all. They're geared to get up the course as fast as possible. Michael Schumacher's Benetton F1 was beaten by an old Bugatti because a woman was driving it. Was Nick Heidfeld's Mercedes F1 car that holds the record restricted. Of course not. Top speed is not required at Goodwood by any car so all the cars will be geared more for acceleration. You have totally misunderstood the meaning of restricted. All cars are using their full power

      @THESLlCK 5 років тому +1

      Rourke Hikari they could do the same for electric. After all, the electrics are better at accelerating, so they should make a shorter track with less corners to make them more suited for electric.

    • @yummyhershey5902
      @yummyhershey5902 5 років тому

      Nate F wait, so you’re not allowed to add a gearbox because there’s no rev limiter? That doesn’t make any sense. Every production EV still has a maximum RPM for each motor. Like I said a good example is the Concept 2, or even early Model S cars from Tesla. Some models had a second gear for more efficient highway cruising. Electric cars don’t use gearboxes because they’re less efficient than direct-drive. If they wanted to, there’s nothing stopping them from doing so.

    • @yummyhershey5902
      @yummyhershey5902 5 років тому

      Nate F And I guess the comparison wasn’t very logical in the first place considering that both cars have separate purposes. The point still stands that electric motors have a ton of torque that’s instant. A WRC car has a top speed of about 124mph. That’s a 43 mph difference than the ID R, which has about 680hp compared to the 600hp of Rally Cross cars. Even though the rally cross cars would accelerate more quickly on better tires, they still do so with a gearbox and still have a lower top speed. It’s still not much of a valid comparison but it does show that electric cars still produce a lot of torque. The ID R could accelerate more quickly with a gearbox, but it would cause the car to lose range.

      @@yummyhershey5902 Yes, it has to be for efficiency as you say. I suspect if/when we make some big leaps forward in battery energy density we might start seeing them.

    • @yummyhershey5902
      @yummyhershey5902 5 років тому

      Paul Hope for performance cars we probably will. Batteries are the largest caveat to producing electric cars. They’re much slower to recharge, don’t discharge evenly over the course of a cycle, they need replacing after so many cycles, and they’re not nearly as energy dense as a liquid fuel. One those are mostly improved, electric cars will be objectively superior in almost ever way (unless gasoline cars make some huge leap within the next decade).

I'd like to see the 1900-1930's cars have their own category, same for the 40's - 50's cars (i.e the Ferrari 166), the 60's and 70's cars (I.E. the Ford GT40 Roadster). The rally cars/WRC/WRX, the open-wheel cars, the NASCAR's and cars like the GT3 Cup, Dallara and BMW Judd should all be timed in specific categories.. At the very least, give the pre-WWII cars, their own category, there's always plenty of them, to where they could have their own separate grouping; same goes for the rally cars.*
