I love watching your "thinking" videos because I'm in the same place as you. Changing my bullet journal to a bujo plus EC. Also revamping how I track and control my budget. I like hearing your thoughts because they're things I may not have thought of.
I like (love actually) your planning process for seeing what you need for 2019. You and Wright Your Life have helped me think out and write out where I’m going myself in 2019.
I like how you are starting to shift in doing “must do” and “could do” or prioritizing things for the day.... with chronic pain, I need to start incorporating strategies like this and could use some inspiration and ideas/reminders!
I'm watching a bunch of BuJo vids right now do figure out my 2019 setup. But I come to you Cindy! because we think alike and have a LOT of shit to do. I knew you'd dig down into these questions and you didn't disappoint. THANK YOU! Also I've been playing catch-up with some of the your content, and just got clued in about your surgery being SO SOON. Sending you many healing vibes for a smooth process and quick recovery. And just know, it's OK to slow it all the fuck down. We'll still be here when you get back. Promise!
I really like seeing the process behind what you decide to use. I can't ever keep to one strategy for an extended length of time. The only tracking I've managed to do long term is tracking my weight, weekly. And that's only because it's either do that or my pants won't fit. So I like to see what works for people who are in my shoes, get tired of stuff quickly, etc.
I hit "subscribe" the moment you said "...we're not doodling to make everyone think we're the most rad-ass fucking doodler..." I think I found the right BuJo guru!
This video is 100% where I am right now. Getting ready for the new year. New ideas etc. Perfect video! Looking forward to where you go with your process from here! 💋
Why did it take me so long to find this channel? These videos are VERY helpful. (That said, jabbing yourself in an already-ailing kidney while reaching to turn on the Christmas lights sounds like some sort of anti-Dickensian nightmare.🎄😱)
Love seeing your process. Take your time, we will be here. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing but I went years without a paper planner and am getting back to it. It will be a process.
I didn't make an actual list of what worked for me and what didn't, but I ended up considering all those things and I think I've finally found the right planner for me. (Jibun Techo!) I don't end up with a ton of stuff scheduled, so I use a large chunk of my weekly spreads to jot down things that happened and what I got done. It's working pretty well for me.
making the swatch journal could be a cool livestream, if you feel up to it of course! I would definitely love to see a final flip through of that journal. I totally understand what you said about time crunches making you work better- i also do my best work after i procrastinate (or so i believe!) and i had to write a 12 page research proposal on the subject as one of my finals- yes i procrastinated on it 🙊
Yeah a weekly habit tracker is what I’m setting up now. The big page habit tracker was useless almost. Having to go back on the big one just never happened. I’m only picking one habit a week too to track.
Cindy thank you so much for your honesty about everything in your life! As for memory keeping, how about vlogging more? I seem to remember you saying you wanted to memory keep for your kids, so what if you filmed your day, your memories, published on youtube the kidney stuff and kept the rest for them?? Just an idea 🙃 happy holidays everyone!! Xx
I would love to see more of your process. I'm trying to figure out how to goal set with crappy kidneys and most days either wiped out with no energy or with too much pain. I'm under too much stress right now, so I know when things calm down that it will get easier to be productive, but I am also trying to overhaul how I plan. Love the video today!
I have my monthly cover be my memory page, so it starts our a monthly cover page with the other side blank, then as the month goes on I add pictures of the month all around the spread.
Mannn, that washi tape is so pretty! And, I love that you show and explain your process. I'm so ready to start my 2019 bullet journal and can't wait to see yours!
For the longest time I was doing the what worked/what didn’t work evaluation at the end of every week, just because I had so much going on for a while and needed to do that. Now I do it at the end of a notebook (usually every 2 months).
One of the things that has helped me is moving certain habit trackers to the weekly spread and leaving others on the monthly. I don't do a separate habit tracker page, I just add the columns on my monthly log. Somehow it helps to break down which habits I'm thinking about when.
great video and even better focus on what to do I think I will come back and view this one a few time -- I have MS and I am only starting to try to have a sense of organization (too busy with the crazy crap that comes with MS) I had hoped to start a new career this year - and it did not work (MS etc in the way ) now I am re evaluating how I deal with the MS and find ways to make both work thanks for your ongoing honesty !!!
I’m so impressed of how you’re keeping up, I’m do baaaaad of doing that! My Days been about work - been lost in action - dealing with the most emerging task. I need to say it again; I’m impressed. I think you’re going to get the reward; my hero this year. Next weed I only need to work one day so then I’m gonna plan plan plan for my upcoming year. I agree with you;specific planners is what worth the effort. Love the Washi you use on the page for forkin not works. Don’t forget that the surgery needs your attention! Take you time to heal!!! Love from a high on medecin swede
Hahaha... this is the first month that I am doing the challenges. I realize that I suck ass at drawing. I was okay until I go to the Horcruxes... but at that point all of it went to hell. But I'm trying to keep going -- to draw just to DRAW not to be GOOD. As my friend always tells me "embrace the suck"
Hi! I'm new to your channel and want to thank you for inspiring me to try bullet journalling! I'm terrible at doodling and hand lettering, but am having fun practicing it anyway. Cheers!
@@jacksmom014 It's very hard... for me at least. I took a 1 wk Wild30 class of her's a few weeks ago & I pretty much was a big fat FAIL! LOL. It's ok though... not everybody can be great at everything! So, maybe some day when I can take a longer class, go slower & have more time to practice, maybe I will do better with it. I've just never been one who was good at drawing... heck, I'm good to draw a stick person & that's OK!!!! LOL
I need to do this. I’m trying to show my nephew how to as he really needs to change up. Last semester of HS if he’s lucky. Barely making thru first semester.
"We're not doodling to make everyone think that we're the most rad ass fucking doodler on the planet," spoken by the most rad ass fucking doodler on the planet LOL
I'm also struggling to figure out how to bullet journal this year... the aesthetic of the "Instagram BuJo" is what attracted me to the method last year, but between health shit and just being so busy between the two jobs, it's just not working for me anymore. I can't make it pretty, and so I don't try. I think I really need to go back to the roots... I know Ryder put out a book a few months ago, and maybe I just need to get back in touch with that. But at the same time, the planner alone is working okay. Not great, but okay. Hmm...
Kristen Stevens I’m with you. I actually am trying out different ECs and maybe a TN this year... I need to make it pretty... or I won’t use it. I feel like a TN is smaller and maybe less intense than my bujo... I need something to go with my planner.. now to find whag
I am really thinking about habits right now (reading atomic Habits) and I’m doing a lot of examination but hadn’t considered good / bad / neutral things about planning. I’m kind of afraid to see where that leaves my 2019 planner choices 🤨.
i recently revamped my system a bit, but i think i am going to take a closer look before i do all the set up for 2019. I've been using a pocket TN for almost 2 years & it's been fabulous. it's small & has all that i need. I buy the tomoe river notebooks from Paper Penguin co & draw out my spread (usually in 4 month sections). My son is having a rough time adjusting to kindergarten (the school has diagnosed him as autistic, but we have not confirmed that) & my daughter was diagnosed with pretty severe food allergies this year, so I am finding that i need more flexibility than a TN can offer in order to track a lot of things that come with those two situations. i switched to a pocket planner, but the pages are a lot smaller than a pocket tn so i completely went in a different direction than i had been doing. I also have had a real roller coaster year emotions wise & i need to see what i'm accomplishing during the day because my depression has been rampant. i just really can't think of a way to make a tn work for that. the pocket rings is fine, but it's not something that i'm super excited about. so planner existentialism over here too.
Jamie Ferguson Hi. If your pocket T.N. was working for you couldn’t you have just gotten two notebooks one for each children and put it in your T.N.? The moldskine pocket notebooks are real nice and thin but hold 3 to 4 months depending how much of course you put in them. Then you have the field note books too that are nice. A pocket T.N. should hold all 3. You could write your notes in each children book and have them when you go to the doctors or school. And cross check their appointments with your calendar
@@watchthevideos56 I played around with the idea. i really don't like a chunky TN & 3 books with a plastic pocket was just too much for me. I am still considering if i need just a notes book. or how to even try & track all the things in a way that makes sense to my brain in a TN. In the pocket i have individual yearly trackers for the kids & weekly & monthly trackers for me. I am also using the bullet journal type day on a page for a daily to-do list of all the things i need to do. in my tn i only ever listed out the stuff that wasn't a regular occurrence & in my rings planner i am writing out everything, even the repetitive stuff. it helps me to look back on my week & see if i was actually accomplishing something, or just sitting on my ass (which is what i tend to do if my depression is wack). the way i'm using my rings doesn't translate to a tn, or at least not with enough flexibility or ability to future plan. i'm still toying with the idea because i do LOVE my tn. I do love the filofax croc that i got, it's a great planner it just required a complete overhaul of my system. rings has been working since October, but i can tell that it's something that i'm just sort of meh about.
