🛌 I always watch your videos to the end. I love how the book case/shelf looks with the mirror. Olive looks so cute laying on the bed 🛏️ just chillin🐶 It's odd that your ZZ hasn't grown for so long. I hope it starts to grow for you 💦🌱💙 thanks for this video 📷 even though I'm late to the party I enjoyed this 😊
I propagated my gloriosum! I did it two ways.. in the pot where the nodes were individually rooted into the soil I just chopped between the nodes and left them there. Now I have a bunch of individual plants growing in the pot, it’ll probably get too wild and full to keep them that way by the end of the year but for now I love the look! One node wasn’t rooted so I just chucked the node (with one leaf) into a jar with water, node fully submerged. It was in a cabinet and on top of a heat mat. Got roots after a couple weeks and after about two months I just put it into soil. So far so good! Hope you find something that works for your Glory baby!
I love videos in this style. It always gives me inspiration to incorporate more planty things into my house instead of just a small corner in my bedroom lol. Your style is really cool
I think I can speak for most of us when I say we do love the style of video. It’s so peaceful and something I was really anticipating honestly, I also love that it was still really focused on plants.🧡 On your personal page would you consider a house tour etc? Or plans for the future with it kinda vid? You’re awesome Fern, so cool to see this growth and change for you and Olive
Fern I have just started watching and my heart is so full of joy for you and Olive and that significant "other 😉" 🛀 closest emoji to a bed that I could find 😂
The trick to propagating gloriousum is just to chop it up while it’s in the pot, so everything should already be completely rooted and can be planted in the soil immediately. It’s more similar to division than normal propagation with water, moss, etc.!
Happy Summer Fern I've been so busy these past week getting my plants out side the Hoyas are loving the Mississippi weather I just moved from Lima Oh. To my home here in Miss. IM so happy to be home some of my plants didn't take the move so well but I brought them back to life. ALL eight of my Hoyas are running wild with all t he sunshine here Im so happy you have your home to decorate the way you want I wish you all the happiness in the World 🌎 honey.❤😊 love you Honey take care of your self
I’ve propagated my Gloriosum by chopping it up while it’s still in the pot. It crawls so the roots are already growing down into the soil. Then once the individual pieces you’ve chopped have started to grow new growth points I transfer them into their own smaller pots and they already have their own little root systems ☺️🪴🛏️
Yes!! I want ALLLL the nesting content! It’s so cool to see how you incorporate all of your stuff into the new house. Seeing Greta growing into her new home after being through so many moves is so wholesome 🥺💞
We have a ton of mosquitos where I live as well. If you clean it with rubbing alcohol (I’ve used hand sanitiser in a pinch) it will seriously minimise the bite! Rub it in generously. It works for other bug bites as well, especially if you can quickly use a Sawyer sting extractor.
With those plant command hooks for Greta, I just cut my plant Velcro thin (like in thirds long ways) and then cut short strips and loop these through those clear hooks.
Hi Fern! Yes Please! More more videos like this! Love coming along with you in your Lovely New Home and watching how you set everything up! Lots of Fun! Thankyou! ❤️🐾🌿 2:51
My Hoyas love being outside, too. My Chelsea hadn’t grown for about a year and I put her outside at the beginning of summer and now she has a bunch of new leaves 🥲❤️
The best method I've found for propagating Philodendron gloriosum is by making the cuts in the stem while it's still in its pot. Then I let them group out for a while until each cutting has a new leaf and then I finally separate them. I've found that they don't seem to live being disturbed right after being cut :)
I love what you did with the shelf, and the pothos! When I was a kid, my mom had 2 big pothos in my parents bedroom. She put up wires in the roof and had the plants trailing all over the roof. It looked really fantastic.
I have a basil in my back yard. It's in full sun and loving life. They love hough light. They're gonna need at least 6 hours of direct sun or a grow light. They can't handle overwatering at all. I'm glad I was able to offer a suggestion after all the help I've gotten from your videos. Congratulations on your new home! I'm so stoked for you! I can't wait to see this leg of your journey unfold!
@@wildfern you're welcome! Oh hey! I've been obsessed with gett'n a krimson queen ever since I saw the white leaves on yours. I'm happy to say I finally found the right one!
Oh no no, ferns are super easy!! My key to success is: I watch the "look" of the top of the soil, when that 'looks dry' I start checking the top 1" and when that is reduced to "damp" I bottom water well. Never let them get past damp. And presto! Gorgeous ferns.
I propagated my gloriosum! I cut off the leaves around the node where I chopped, put the chunk in a ziplock bag with a tiny bit of soil, and placed the bag in my greenhouse cabinet. Within 2 weeks it had roots and a new leaf coming out
🛏️ love this kind of content!! It's so nice to see you settling into your new home 😊 my partner and I bought our house 2 years ago and I'm still changing up plant displays based on season and lighting, that's the fun of it, I think ❤️
For my gloriosum propagations since its a crawler I cut in between the rooted nodes straight inside the pot and wait for the new growpoints to pop out before I dig them out of the soil and into their own individual pots. 🛏
I’d definitely love more videos like this! It’s inspiring me as I set up my guest/planty room. We had a roommate for a while, but since she’s moved I’ve taken over that room and am figuring out how everything fits throughout my house with having the extra space. 🪴
Yes, ZZ will be fine on the end table, I’ve had mine for 2 1/2-3 years in my bathroom, 5 feet from a North facing window (so like no real sun) and it still grows beautifully with literally just fluorescent light in the there 😂
I love that shelf and mirror set up at the end!! The whole shelf is super cute and I actually love the book/plant combo! I still haven’t added more than a few plants to the one I got for my birthday back at the end of April, but my plan was to add books as well! It’s such a cute vibe and I love how yours turned out!! ❤❤ 🛌 🛌
I have had the MOST difficult time with my gloriousum since purchasing it a year and a half ago. I found that taking all of the the leaves off and chopping the wet stick will activate the growth points. I couldn't get roots to grow on the original wet stick for anything but the new growth produced roots, althoughthe new growth started off small for the first 2 or 3 leaves. I'm just now getting one of them to grow a medium sized baby leaf. The other wet stick is still growing mini leaves at a glacial pace, and doesn't have a single root yet. One leaf every 9 months. I got them to grow the best in a sealed plastic container with a gasket (Sterilite brand). I lined the bottom with 3 inches of sphagnum moss and placed a l.e.d. grow light an inch above the lid. I kept the lid sealed for months, only opening it up every few weeks to check on them.
Both times when I propagated my gloriosum I took off all the leaves and planted them directly into soil. One has one new leaf and the other has two growth points with leaves starting to unfurl. I took one about 4 months ago and the other about 2 months ago. One took a bit longer to produce new growth than the other but both are doing great!
I’ve propagated gloriosums in moss either by cuttings which I let callus over first or by breaking off pups. She’s been my cash cow mama plant 🤑 Standard high light, high humidity, with a heat mat prop box or in my Milsbo, in a smoothie cup with a lid, near the heat mat.
🛏 I’m a little behind but I really enjoyed this video, and I recently moved, and I’m finding renewed happiness in caring for and situating my plants in my new home, so this was a super fun video for me. 😊
I feel like one of the plants on top of the shelf would look so cute on top of the stack of books! Love it though looks great, congratulations on the house, can't wait to see what else you do!
Such a great house and setup! I wanted to thank you for not constantly trying to sell us things (except for sponsored content, of course)! You’re a breath of fresh air.
Loved the video! So relaxing and inspirational! It's so lovely to see someone put their home together, and I also love your interior style, so I'd love more of these videos! ❤
Hey girlie, thanks for another awesome plantie video! I had a two stalk ZZ propagation for about a year and a half without any new leaves. After I moved into a new apartment and put the two stalks in bright, direct light did it start to push out new leaves!! I believe it has four new leaves coming out now👍🏻
Hi Fern. I love the look of your new home. With time and experimentation, your plants will tell you where they are happiest. What colour are the walls in your house. Is it grey or sage green. Green always looks nice with plants. Great to see Olive again. She looks settled in. How wonderful to have a yard. Great for planting herbs and veggies. Love your balcony. You can put indoor plants outside in summer for a little vacation. Enjoyed your video. 🙂
Yes I like the mirror with the plant growing around it, and I think a perfect solution to the lighting situation above the shelf would be by adding a wall light over your mirror. You could see yourself better and also the plants will appreciate some more light.
Hi 👋👋👋. Been following you,on and off. For a few years. Your great 👍. I love houseplants;and You have a nice variety. Its nice too see the complete home and all the plants. 😊 .
❤I prop my gloriosums by cutting between the rooted nodes and leaving them in place for at least a month in its pot until the cuts heal(I put plastic between the cut to prevent it growing back together) then I unpot and untangle the roots 😊
I am living for this content right now. I also JUST moved into my very first home in April and am having so much fun decorating and filling it with plants 😌❤️
Can't wait to see more house decoration! Mirror vine bookcase section looks adorable. One thing I do to hide books on a bookcase (it makes me feel cluttered) is put them in cute boxes or baskets, then it looks good but it's still easy to pull it out and look at contents if I want something).
Absolutely love this type of video. I haven’t seen a whole lot of your house yet. I don’t know what it looks like. I love what I’ve seen and I didn’t know you had a new partner good for you. Hope you’ll be very happy.

I always felt like it but since I've been watching your videos more and more again I still feel like we are literally the same person 😅love from Austria
I think the raven zz would be fine in that spot! Mine lives in a similar situation now and it surprisingly gets enough ambient light to actually grow. I’ve kept them in lower light situations before (much less than yours now) and it lived but never grew.
Fern!! On the gloriosum propagation, I have recently (in the last year) propagated gloriosum from a wet stick after chopping one up from a similar sitch, I stuck chunks of the stem with nodes in a tiny pot with a ziplock bag cinched around the for some make-shift humidity, and I put it under a grow light.
