- Before SpongeBob SquarePants aired on Nickelodeon, SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg wrote a special comic titled The Intertidal Zone. Its narrator was named Bob the Sponge. Decades later, the blueprints for what would become SpongeBob SquarePants have finally been found and made publicly available online.

I'm being honest we've found a lot of Spongebob lost media recently, uncensored sailor mouth, now this!
I think the one actual most important pieces of lost media was a book written by marquis de sade in 1789 which was found way back in 1904...
If inventio fortunata (a 14th century travelogue book) gets found, it could possibly be the most important piece of lost media (this book influeced the making of world atlas way up to the 16th century)
Also, We all miss the old intro music.

And now the tidal zone is a series in a series on SpongeBob
It's nowhere near like what The Intertidal Zone is, and it has the mediocrity and boring, nostalgia-baiting, stale, tired stink that is modern spongebob.
This was found, but the 73-page version (there were 3 versions, the mentioned one being the third) of the SpongeBob SquarePants pitch bible was lost again. The gallery section on the SpongeBob wiki does not have all the pages.

Actually the late Stephen Hillenburg wrote The Intertidal Zone in 1984, 40 years ago.

First his short called Wormholes got found years ago and now The Intertidal Zone!
You know what also got discovered? Rare, never-before-seen pilot episodes for Disney Television Animation productions, from familiar faces like The Ghost and Molly McGee to unproduced content like Thunderbeards and an anthology series which would've been a new era for Disney's characters.
But most notably, the Gravity Falls "Next Time" reel is finally found in its entirety! Thus, ending Gravity Falls' final biggest lost media search after years of searching outside of a work print version surfacing. I have to say, it is the best, if the most craziest, lost media find I have ever seen.

silly but although I never met Stephen Hillenburg in person I miss him so much, he seemed so relaxed, friendly and a good person, I'm so happy to know that the creator of one of my favorite series did not have any dark controversies. He left a nice impression on everyone who met him in person and on everyone who met him through his work.
It's absolutely crazy when lost media resurfaces!
Maybe you should make a community poll: “which outro is better? old or new”

If I were a staff member on SpongeBob, I definitely would’ve loved to ask permission from Stephen Hillenburg’s estate to include a digital interactive version of The Intertidal Zone as a bonus feature on a future SpongeBob DVD, kind of like those interactive story books you’d commonly find on DVDs during your childhood and having the option to have it either read to you with Rocky’s and the other comic characters’ voices provided by the SpongeBob cast or read it yourself.
The intro change reminds me of the loss of the gum ball eyes on the SpongeBob popsicles.

Gee, I never thought I'd see the day I'd be able to read the very thing that served as the blueprints for the SpongeBob we know today, but life is full of surprises, isn't it? I'm truly thankful that The Intertidal Zone can now be read by all of us, and to think this happened so close to the actual 25th Anniversary date of the show we know and love...!
The comic looks like one of those classic underground comics like Mr. Natural and the Freak Bros. But that's what I like about comics that aren't just superheroes.
Also kinda reminds me a bit of the Duck Tales comics

Spongebob came out on my birthday, May 1st, 1999. (I was born 1991).
I dont remember exactly what happened, but i think we were just getting back from visiting some friends of my grandparents from a retirement village. Saw like 1/3rd of "Help Wanted" lol.
