I'm always making my own jerky, it's way too expensive to buy in them little packets and you never seem to get much either.
In Australia, we pay about $5 for 40 grams
Australia. One of the biggest beef exporters. Fucking batshit.
Can I marinate by injection? I’m new to cooking so I don’t know if that’s useless, but I feel like it’d help bind everything better
@@Chris-hall9080 I've never done it, you could always try it, it seems unnecessary in my opinion but I dont know.
@@Chris-hall9080 . I think that's a bad idea. Marinate by injection is not very effective for seasoning meat.
And it just doest chew like the homeade stuff. I like a tuff jerky that i chew the flavors out of. Not stuff that is like leather and doesnt break apart.
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup washyoursister sauce
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons red pepper
2 tablespoons of sugar
Incase you couldn’t here him rush through the ingredients
Wash your sister sauce 😭😭😭😭😭
I like to keep the washyousister sauce but I substitute the soy sauce for used motor oil it adds a great tangy kick
@@johnhauswirth5104 lol
Thank you ❤😂
Knew I could count on a comment like you 🫶🏼
Weber's chicago steak seasoning, let that sit for couple of hours in the fridge, and dehydrate. Easiest way I've done it, but this one sounds good though
Yea I can tell that shit is tough. No roller, no acid to break down and make tender. Goodluck keep that recipe to yourself bro
@@mumblezz__5890keep that comment to yourself bro
It's lovely even with just salt, nothing else. That's my family's favourite.
Think about black molasses for a sweetness rather than brown sugar or honey. Definitely adds more flavor in my opinion
Loved this recipe, turned out amazing, thank you!
This is one of the best things I’ve ever made on my smoker, thank you, brother
Love it, keep it up!!! Made it the same way and it was a success!
I spend about $100 a month on jerky. Maybe I'm addicted.
Start making your own, it’ll be worth it trust😂
Same!
or just carnivore smart
Just 100? Is this amateur hour?
Made this and I'm never buying store bought jerky again
Good to hear!
I’m glad you pronounced Worcester correctly
It’s so good it’s my 10 time making it never buying beef jerky from a store I also add habaneros and other peppers so good
Made some today. Added Smoked Paprika to give it the smokey taste without actually smoking it. Yummo.
Any tips for this in a dehydrator?.....(edit to follow? I normally dehydrate fruit or herbs...haven't done meat yet.
We put it for 6 hours or once it looks like plastic, by 4 hours flip them
@@ma_ri_elladepends on your dehydrator if you have to flip them
I make it 50/50 sauces.
Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, pepper, and brown sugar or honey, sweetener etc to your liking. Cut thinner for quicker or thicker for longer dehydration times. Try both. Experiment with whatever you'd like but make sure you have fun. Eventually you'll find what you like. Most importantly let it soak for at least 4-24 hrs.
We do it in a dehydrator. Same recipe except we add ground red pepper.
Paprika?
Just ordered a dehydrator and it will be here Thursday. I'm so excited to try this recipe.
How long do you dehydrate it? TIA
@@barbaraduquette1748 How you liking it so far. I just ordered one, arrived today. Will do this tomm!
How long in a dehydrator.
@isaiahaguilar4195 i don't time it. You have to rotate every 30 mins or so. You check to see if it's done at that time.
I kept an eye on it the first time i used it. Then, I just followed the same recipe, meat thickness and cooking time.
Can You do this in a dehydrator? Mine only has one setting -on- but, I would like to try this.
Yes. That is what it's for.
Yes. That’s what I use every time and it’s perfect. Just check on it every few hours until it’s dry enough
Is good if your dehydration machine to go to 160. Or your going to need curing salt and lots more time doing it.
Great Video Hoss,I got a Question For you; What is The difference Between Using A Smoker Oppose to Useing Your Dehydrator For Making Jerky?
I own a dehydrator i would like to know how long would you leave it on for this here Recipe, because the Temperature levels varies between the dehydrator and a smoker
You get a smoky flavor as it drys out
Is it compulsory to dry bake them or can we just BBQ grill once marination is done?
So much info in one short. Solid vid
I'm impressed, you actually nailed the pronunciation of Worcestershire
Wait that's actually how it's pronounced? I've spent my whole life hearing people struggle to say it so I always thought it was more complicated to say than that, unless this is satire
No it’s actually pronounced wash-ur-sister
pretty easy to pronounce if you actually learn how to and don't purposefully exaggerate it
I say ”war-chester-shire” i think thats also correct lol
It's pronounced vooster-sauce of you're from South Africa
Nice , I normal cut jerky with the grain
Almost my recipe to a T except I do 50/50 soy/worchestershire. If you do it in an oven you can spread the jerky and pour the marinade over in in a shallow pan. When the liquid is gone nothing but sweet sticky goodness. Sprinkle a little more black pepper and pepper flakes about halfway through for a little more heat.
Can you make some Venison Jerky fam?
If you want a cheaper cut of meat I recommend flank steak😊
Can you use the dehydrator for this recipe? If so would you recommend adding liquid smoke to it?
this is gonna save some money
Pat dry before putting in the smoker. It takes a lot of time at 185 to remove the surface moisture.
Alternatively let dry over a racked baking sheet in the fridge for less labour.
@@Un1234lyeah, patting with a paper towel, back breaking labor right there
@@bruhcoochie2169
When you have a bunch of meat to cook and little time due to other responsibilities, you find ways to cut out the less important tasks. You need at least two paper towels per side of meat to flip over. Cost savings as well.
Work smart not hard
@@bruhcoochie2169😂
Should taste really good)
I've marinated for 3-4 hours and 24-48 hours and I saw no difference. The meat is so thin that you never need more than 4 hours.
True! It will not penetrate so....2-4 hours will do.
Yeah it wouldn’t make much of a difference at all. It’s nice to prepare it all the day before though.
I always just do the evening before so I get a early start at smoking it. And can do a couple batches in one day.
It's so cool how similar, but distinctly different, it is to biltong. 😋
Yummy. Looks delicious
Thank you. It's so good
I tried making my own with some sirloin… I know I know, but I didn’t want to run to the store for the right cut of meat, but I let it marinate for about 4 hrs then air fried it, it looked good but when I take a bite the meat is wayyyy to mushy/melts in my mouth any tips? I’m definitely trying a better cut next time..
Try a slightly Higher temperature, and make sure to pat completely dry before cooking. And yes a tougher cut of meat will help. But sounds like you just didn’t cook long enough / too much moisture.
When you make it. You check it buy bending it in half. If it leaves whight marks when bending it's generally done. If you cut it to thick this will take much more time to get it where you desire. I do 1/4 inch witch is a little thick but I like tougher beef jerky that needs lots of chewing and the flavor last longer. On that note I also marinate a full day or more.
I like to add Sriracha and MSG
You misspelled salt….
@@gregs8678 you obviously have never tested flavored crystals
Temps are all over the place for this, I think I feel better using the higher temp you’ve recommended
Does this need to be refrigerated? Also how long would it last if it was vacuum sealed?
Liquid smoke gives some reflux aka heartburn.
liquid smoke is nasty. it tastes exactly what it is - artificial and overpowering. If you are smoking it anyway, why add that garbage.
My family dehydrates our deer jerky
How long and what setting? I'm buying one today and doing it for the first time
@@muddybluntz4589meat is good to do at 160 to kill all bacteria.
After me my dad would kill a deer I would use the tenderloin and turn it into beef jerky I pretty much did the whole process of what you did but I would add like sriracha sauce and I was just leave them hanging on the oven racks at around 190
Bro home made jerky is so good! I honestly skip out on adding any more salt because all the soy sauce & other sauces contain enough salt that gets absorbed by meat.
Also i use a dehydrator …
Just got the smoker will have to do this 👌
Report back! Congratulations on the new smoker. What did you get?

you got a good eye

Thank you 😋
Could Woodchuck work? Lean, grass fed, and similar to rabbit.
No. The best jerky is always cut WITH the grain.
I am making it for my dogs so I will only sprinkle with a bit of oil and put in my airfryer to dehydrate
Lucky dogs
Can you make it without soy sauce I have high blood pressure?
I like make homemade jerky 👍🏽👍🏽
People asking just for the marinade were step above others
I’d trappers is a banger jerky
Try some sweet tea. Also, try some maple.
How could i make some for diabetics with out sugar
I didn't know Dirtbag Dan had a cooking channel
Fahrenheit or Celsius? :) (I’m in Australia)
I get conflicting opinions on curing salts… some saying if you don’t use them you could get lethal food poisoning and other say it’s just an ins plan to keep you from getting lethal food poisoning and others that don’t seem to use it…. I’m confused as to whether I should use curing salt
There is plenty of salt already in the soy sauce.
I love beef jerky quick protein snack
How much liquid smoke?
None! it's trash u don't need it, if u want smoke flavor, smoke it
He looks like that guy who does eminem videos 😂
I don't know what it is but I like this dude Hasting like one of my Viking Brothers that I would go to war with right beside kratos with Leviathan Axe in hand and storm The Villa and no and leave no one alive the beef jerky recipe is what I came for but I just wanted to point that out LOL 🤣
Make a teriyaki recipe pls I'm trying to start a business of selling in school and I need a teriyaki recipe
Do I have to marinate the meat for jerky? I’m looking to make a basic recipe that doesn’t have all the carbs and sugar. I just want the meat lol
My jerky is always over done. Still haven’t mastered knowing when it’s done
In oven, temp and duration?
Will it work in an oven air fryer
Last time I has grocery store it tasted like drywall and mortar
Yum, drywall is my favourite! Not a great fan of mortar though, I have to say 😆
Add a reasonable amount of your favorite bourbon for a sweetener my family has done that for generations.
Awesome beef jerky! Great video!🤠
Try and make south African biltong
This is just a big nooo! These guys don't know a thing about biltong😅
@@Oomkoosvandiegrootkaroowhy would they bother when there are far better options especially in the Americas 😂
A little splash of vinegar to would set that off
Indonesian beef jerky (dendeng) is the best
You should do pig jerky
🤮
Is it possible to make some WITHOUT soy like a full blown sodo myte? , ayyyyyyeeeee 👍👍
Will this work for deer jerky too?
yes
Deer jerky is better

Just need a top brown uparound bottom round is all
What’s about a dehydrater
One time I used the Panda Express orange chicken sauce on my jerky. Didn't really taste the same
Crushed black pepper and lime juice is a REALLY good jerky
Why add liquid smoke if you put it in the oven?
Because in the oven you don’t get the smoke flavor that you’d get using a smoker
Because you are not burning any wood to produce smoke?
lol i know exactly what he means by expeirement with recipes when theyre tons
Personally speaking, who else does it with a little garlic? 💁♂️
Do you sell this??? 🤤

i want to use dehydrator but mine only goes to 165
No beating the meat for tenderness?
I prefer biltong
