Dark souls: here, have a sword, shield, and some armour. Your gonna need it

Another tip: this game has hidden damage modifiers on some weapons. Any weapon with teeth on its blade (all the saws) have a “serrated dmg bonus” and do more damage against beasts, and any weapon that was made by the church in its description (Ludwig’s Holy Blade, and I think Tinitrus) have a “holy damage bonus.”
I think that the best weapon in blood-borne is the Oreo buzz saw

Ludwig's holy blade does get downright unhealthy when it comes to damage. Although you can definitely out do it in terms of actual damage (45 Arcane and a fire cleaver will one shot late game beasts), due to the stats menu being extremely inaccurate at calculating damage

I mean...you're killing people afflicted with a terrible deformative disease, taking blood samples from their corpses, then injecting yourself when you feel under the weather. You shoot them with bullets with your blood smeared on them, or with various alien organisms or body parts. You also take various dubious medications to save yourself from various ailments that might be caused by the medications themselves. What makes you think that's unsanitary?

I started off with the threaded cane. It may not be a good beginner weapon due to the low damage output (not my first Souls game anyways), but holy balls does it scale nicely if you have a skill build. I love that ultra swag cane so much. Most enemies don't know how to handle the range of whip form, and the cane form is fast enough for rapid combos (and does good stabby damage that some bosses don't like).
+Raggedstar Lol, building skill with just the threaded cane felt like cheating it was so good. It took me through most of the game until I got the Blades of Mercy, which are on another level.
Eh the katana is the best skill weapon IMO

I actually am starting with the cane myself. I think the range makes up for the slightly smaller damage, and the versatility makes the rest of the weapons seem pretty basic imo. it's my dream weapon essentially.

Pastel princess I just ordered bloodborne game of the year edition and I'm excited and scared at the same time. I always see people saying how hard it is and how angry it can make them. And like you, I think bloodborne may make me want to destroy my ps4.

Yeh it's a shame and I've already cried like a little bitch about it being free, but I'm trying to man up lol. The thing I'm most annoyed about is the fact that I'm probably going to be rubbish at bloodborne and give up really early. I very much doubt that I'll finish the game. I probably won't even make it to half way through the game. At least if I do get far then I can play the dlc as I have goty edition and the dlc alone costs £15.99 or around $20 and I paid £25 for full game content. I really hope that I don't end up owning all the aaa free ps+ games before they are free. I bet so many people are very happy about this months offerings. Then after they play bloodborne, half probably wish they didn't .

I started a new viddogame-based exercise routine 2 weeks ago. Do 10 squats, push ups, or sit ups for every death, do all three when you start a boss. Just got this game free from ps+ monthly giveaway. Pray for me.
For Father gascoigne use the music box to stun him and for the love of God, avoid any blue orbs that float towards you.
I actually wouldn't ever recommend the music box for the father
Simply because he's Such a good tool to learn from
He forces you to learn parring and how to dodge quick combo's and attacks that have little wind up (his gunshot)
however it's also good to save that music box for his third phase where his combo's hit the roughest
Music box in the hands of new players will still teach those things. Also you can only use it on beast form once, and 3 times on human form
It's 3 times during the entire boss fight. If you use it twice in his human form he will prematurely go into beast form.

The threaded cane is a beast if you are confident in your ability to dodge. Fast long-ranged attacks with good crowd control, just don't rely on getting your health back with this thing. The rally damage is its weak point big time
The rally is shit and the attack speed in whip form isnt good. Also the damage isnt competitive at later levels. But god damn is that range game breaking
Plus, you look classy when you use it. Gotta keep in style, am I right? Bonus points if you have the top hat.
Considering i had heard people beat the game with their fists and a torch i stuck with the cane the whole way through

I've been playing bloodborne since 2016, beaten it easily over 20 times, got platinum etc etc. and I still come back to this video because its just comedic genius with a lot of genuinely good advice
In my opinion, as far as the starting weapons, the hunter axe should absolutely be your choice for any strength based character. For a skill character, the threaded cane has an excellent moveset for most stuations. The saw cleaver is just a weird middle ground sort of weapon. For late game, the best strength weapon is probably ludwigs holy blade, and the best skill weapon is absolutely the rakuyo.
Beginner's guide to a souls game:

40 to 50 is good for health and 30 to 35 is good for stamina. Thank god the stupid equipment load bullshit isnt in this game.

I was a Saw Cleaver guy, but I really loved the Blades of Mercy when I actually finally got them.

I feel like the Saw Clever is probably going to be the weapon of choice most new players will gravitate to. It helps that it has the best middle-ground starting point out of the three weapons. In its default mode the Saw Clever is fast and allows the player to get in some good swipes while conserving some stamina for dodging while it's "trick mode" gives it nearly the same range as the Hunter's Axe while doing some decent damage at the cost of stamina and timing.
Also, it's the weapon that the Hunter in all of the promotional material uses so it doubles down on the chance the player will go with that weapon. I know it's still my weapon of choice... five playthroughs in. Though I got to give love to the Burial Ax, goddamn does it do its job at crowd control in NG+.
Extended cleaver has no where near the range of the extended axe, especially considering the combo starts with an overhead swing instead of a horizontal one like the axe. Also threaded cane has shit damage after the early game, but damn does it have RANGE. You can hit through so many obstacles in whip form it is practically game breaking

A tip for new-ish players: Once you beat the blood-starved beast and get the pthumeru chalice, you can use a... certain interesting glyph (cummmfpk) to get easy echoes.
If I remember correctly it's commonly agreed that you shouldn't use these echoes for levels, but it's fine to use them to buy a load of blood vials and bullets and other consumables so you don't have to farm them.
Just go in, move a little through the arch to the statue on your left, look towards the statue, and you'll see something dying in the distance. When it dies you'll get ~83,000 echoes. Just use a bold hunter's mark to reset to the lantern and you can do this run every 25-30 seconds. But again, don't use this for levels, use it for consumables so you don't have to farm.
Noob question - why not use them for leveling too?
@@axeldrane you obviously **can** use them for levels, but it's generally looked down upon to do it. It gives you such a ridiculously large amount of blood echoes at such an early point in the game that it completely throws the intended balance and progression of the game out of the window, making the game a complete piece of cake.
I especially would recommend against using it for levels in a normal or first ever playthrough, but I'll admit I've used it for levels if I'm testing a build or just want to blast through the game in a couple hours.

I played Don't Starve Together with my sister, since apparently it's like her favorite game.
I spent at least 90% of all our time playing as a ghost. I'm convinced the game is impossible to beat without a college degree's worth of effort put into mastering it.

Hey, I know I’m a little late to the bloodbath, but I just started playing and found this tip/review really helpful and HILARIOUS. This game is pure madness AND addictive. Dangerous combo. No idea where I’m going, or what I’m doing, but it’s fun.
i find the saw cleaver to be among the very best. i also like the burial blade, since its range is so deseptive and has such good rally potential.

A wee tip if anyone is still new to this game, go to the forest of the Sneeple (snake people) and kill as many of the sniles (snake piles) as humanly possible. They drop *so* *MANY* *BLOODSTONE* *SHARDS*
They mostly drop twin shards and singles, but it is so worth it if you need em!
I have done crazy amount of research and have beaten the game repeatedly to get all achievements which took forever 😑 but besides that the beginners guide for this amazing game was on point so keep up with the great work and BLOODBORNE 2 COMING THIS DECEMBER CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Extra Tip: All of the best weapons are in the DLC, and one of the better ones, the Beast Cutter, can be found very early in the DLC, so try to grab it if you can. The Whirligig Saw is easily the best PvE weapon, however.
So glad this is a PS Plus game this month, I'll finally get to give it a go come Tuesday.

As a first time souls game player the only bosses I needed more than 2 tries were the first two
I've seen the For Experts so many times, and because there are 3 parts to For Experts, I somehow confused it with For Beginners...
...which made me realize that I actually haven't seen the For Beginners of Bloodborne until now!
I watch the video and think “ooo this looks fun!” And a few moths later, I have the platinum trophy.

For the Chalice Dungeons, try all of Zullie The Witch's chalices for being op early and getting op gems early

Miss Buns! This video has really helped me when Bloodborne became a free Plus game. In the beginning when I ragequitted, I watched this to calm my nerves and go for it again. As well all the helpful tips that I kept in mind. I truly enjoyed the Blood Vials montage. Can I know where the song is from? I always imagine it when I am grinding. Lol and in all honesty, you helped me brave Bloodborne's world. I am a wuss, like no other. Your comedy and awesome editing has made it less scary(even though I still poop my pants at times). I was able to beat the game, well, at least the third ending. I grinded a lot by helping others, I was way overleveled. I did good jolly cooperation! You were part of my journey. Thankful for this wonderful video. ❤

The axe was definitely my go to for the first play through. The saw spear has become my favorite these days though. Gotta love that megaton hammer from the dlc though! It's crazy how much there is to miss in this game. Second time around I found two whole new areas and 3, maybe 4 bosses I'd completely missed in my first playthrough. I loooovee this game, still in my top 3 for this generation.

I've played through all of BloodBornes base game and know the lore like the back of my hand, but this is still fun as all hell to watch and helped me with bettering my play.

Insight isnt actually that important difficulty wise...
At 15 maybe 2 enemy types get new attacks
I.e. The cathedral ward hunters with lamps cast magic now
They spam it actually
A lot
Other than that the witch of hemwick boss fight changes at 0 insight
So it doesnt really change much difficulty wise besides that that i noticed
However
It does do other things
As mentioned its a form of currency (cause not only mind flayers want ur brains!)
And at 40 things happen in the background
Usually its audio
But in 2 locations you can see things previously unknown to you
In Hemwick in general, if you've beaten Vicar Amelia and you have more than 15 insight, Mad Ones (strong, fast, relentless enemies) will spawn as you progress through the area (weirdly, the ones in the Witch bossfight are significantly neutered compared to their friends outside). Really the only notable gameplay difference. And the fact that above 15 insight, your frenzy resistance decreases, which can be dangerous in later areas where frenzying enemies appear in greater numbers.

You have to have beaten Amelia AND have more than 15 insight for them to spawn. Like I said previously. If you have less than 15 insight, they won't spawn, and if you haven't beaten Amelia, they won't spawn. Good to keep in mind if you don't want to have to deal with them in that area.
Gotta say, my favorite build so far is skill-arcane, not enough to use the Hunter's tools very well but enough(~25-30) to milk some extra damage from the weapons, burial blade and blades of Mercy, one has a ton of reach and crowd control while the other has extremely long and fast combos(my record is 14 hits with 30 endurance and 2 anti-clockwise metamorphosis runes)

Blade of mercy is a nice upgrade from the cane, the cane's individual hits do more damage, but the blade of mercy gets a damage bonus while dodging making it great at fighting the beast bosses since you gotta follow the golden rule of smack dat booty.
but the cane makes me look cool even though i'm not!
The blade of mercy reminds me of the blue spirit from avatar the last air bender.

don't know if anyone is still watching this, but if you are, here's some tips for your starting weapon
axe has great rally (getting health back after getting hit) and it does decent damage, but its not the quickest and not the most fun imo. the charged R2 on the extended axe is pretty amazing
the saw cleaver is great and very versatile. pressing r1 and l1 over and over again will do a bunch of transform attacks, which are really quick and do more damage than r1 r1 r1. the rally isnt great, but not the worst either. the extended version of this weapon is not the best thing imo but it's pretty usable in some situations
the threaded cane is probably the hardest to get into imo, some people love it some people hate it. i personally don't like it a lot, although the range is great and switching between the two modes make it a very versatile weapon, more than the first two, the damage isnt that great and it relies more on speed and getting a lot of hits in instead of a few more well timed ones. fairly bad rally. plus it's a dex ("skill" stat in this game) weapon so investing into it might stop you from using other weapons.

For me, started with the Threaded Cane, and beat the game using just that, which I would just put an asterisk on your stat recommendations, if you start with this weapon, and you like it, put points in skill not strength. This weapon gets stronger the higher skill you have, and doesn't give you any benefit from more strength.
Hey so... anybody have advice on fighting hunters? Because watching my brother try to fight any hunter encounter is like watching an Olympic hero trying to scale a cliff made of cacti.
fearanger1 try to stun lock them and avoid being stun locked. They have all the same weaknesses and strengths as you.
The gun is actually pretty useful as it doesn't consume stamina. when you're about to run out of stamina (but don't actually run out) you can always fire the gun to keep the dps up and chances are you might actually get a parry off
But the 2 most important things are stamina management and spacing. You need to know your weapons moveset to get these 2 things down.

As a decent BB player that's on NG+2, I watched this, not really needing it, so I watched it for fun. The way you presented this shit was pretty humorous. My favorite part was the "Whoosh whoosh" about the dodging.
My favorite weapon is the burial blade. Ya know, the weapon you get at the very end of the game?
