You mention that both the Overlander and Drakkant have a 0.73 mm blade gap and "neutral exposure". This is incorrect. The blade exposure on the Overlander is POSITIVE at 0.07 mm. You say this at 7:23 of the video.
Nice shave Kaleb. I just bought the Karve Overlander in aluminum. Didn't want to drop too much money so I opted for the aluminum vs stainless steel. I thought about the brass but don't want to bother with polishing it constantly. I had one shave with it and it felt great. Easy to find the angle and mild yet efficient. The fit and finish is top drawer and I love the huge lather channels.
Great shave Kaleb! I haven’t found a Shannon’s soap I haven’t enjoyed, and the Overlander… well, we know my thoughts on that one lol. Gonna be exciting to see the Drakant popping up all over social media my man.
Thanks brother! Yeah, I was reluctant to compare the Drakkant to a razor that's being dubbed the Goatlander because I thought it might seem too much like hubris. But enough people in the passaround have been making the comparison on their own that I figured why not revisit it. And yeah that Lakeshore Drive was a lovely experience for sure. Have a great day my man!
@@aylsworthshaves8717 you’re welcome! And yessir, why not do it, especially like if people are already comparing it. That does sound like a great scent, I’ll have to add that to the list of possibles lol.
Nice shave and impressions bro! I wasn't the biggest fan of Lakeshore Drive at first but it grew on me. I enjoy all of Shannon's different soap bases. Have a good day bro!
Yeah, the fragrance was described as a fresh and dirty great lakes aquatic, and I was expecting it to smell like coming out of a freshwater lake in the late spring or something. But all I got was a lot of citrus, and maaaaybe a little light herb/ grass in there. I still enjoyed it though. Just not what I thought I was buying.
New subscriber! Stainless steel won't come out Brutha until sales of the brass start to drop off. It's the Karve way! I'm waiting for the SS also to buy 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Hahaha. Fair enough! The Drakkant has 0.05 mm positive exposure to be fair as well. I still maintain that the biggest difference in overall shave experience is the slimmer head and angle of attack on the Drakkant, as well as the scalloping on the safety bar, and lighter weight. Until the 0.98 mm 'H' plate is released that is. Thanks for the correction though!

Nice to see a new video Kaleb. I don't have anything to add...just saying hello. Have a great week!

Great shave. The Overlander IMO would be I great beginners razor in the more high end luxury razor category.

Ozone is the smell of the air after a lightning strike or storm.
Learned something new! (didn't smell it in the soap unfortunately, but still nice to know :)
For the sake of fair discussion the Overlander has 0.07mm blade positive exposure :)

Good luck with the new razor Kaleb. On my list!
It's a great razor. Top 3 right now (with the Drakkant and Masamune being my other 2)
