An amazing video from start to finish. Im constantly trying to improve my own to-do list system, and as a fervent field notes user, I'm baffled that I have never once thought to use a post-it note for daily to-do items next to the month's list. Ingenious! I recently discovered your channel by way Adam's Tested and Van Neistat's work and continue to find endless inspiration from your videos as a working writer, father, and maker.

It took me ages to find the list-making balance between longer term tasks and quick daily tasks. Something I neglected to mention in this piece is that the daily post-if list makes for a good morning routine to set up the day. I typically create the daily list over my morning coffee.

I worked at a nuclear power station doing construction for many years. We had a similar process, it was called CRUPS. Circle (the item you are on), Read (make one slash through circle after having read), Understand, Perform, and once complete- Slash (creating an X over the circle). Every step in a written procedure would be required to have this.

Something I neglected to talk about here, and it's arguably the most important bit, is that I start every day by creating the daily post-it. That's the part of the routine that makes the whole thing work. If a task like that doesn't happen every day, it eventually falls to the wayside.

"Aaa! Aa! Aaaa!" - so here we share the same reaction to the same happenstance, the non-threatening WTF is strong. Hoomans we are indeed.
Dang it, multiple points of the video I'd like to respond to... A list perhaps!?
    1. I'll start with the most perplexing and important: why add a post-it note to the filed notes page? If it is explained in the video it flew way way above my head... Re-watched the video: the month page stays, the daily post-its go in & out. Makes perfect sense. So simple! Do you keep the done days or trash them on the spot?
    2. Flip the door around: that's the big thing, _refactor the code!_; I've redone a cupboard door lately last year to make it magnetic! and chalk-marker friendly! and... my accumulated experience is that proper re-doings indeed require _years_ to get to it; any time sooner is premature (because head-shaving things are not refactoring, they are _hotfixes_; yes software and realware do indeed share the same universe).
    3. New small mitre saw for my small studio: Me cries in shoebox tears. If it needs two hands to move around _it's huge!_. Seems to me that's the boundary I can't hack around with putting stuff on walls etc. I'd like myself at least a proper drill press for starters and my limiting factor is indeed just and only space(*). (asterisk - yes, I could buy myself more space but that route has _other_ limiting factors; money does not solve every problem). I'll continue working around creatively while minimizing overall abuse 😊
    4. High-level movie making: Chapeau bas... As much as I cling to my idea of "unedited raw", ha ha... "urban blair witch shite", I did start editing instead of `ffmpeg concat` so I have a feeling that my dislike of Hollywood move-magic will not stand in the face of "make nicer videos, yo".
    5. All the other stuff. Really it took me much longer to write even this semi-good comment than to watch the video 1.5 times. Which is as it should be, because I'm viscerally sure it didn't take you ~13 minutes to produce it 🙂
Thanks Dave and please keep the inspiration flowing! 🙇‍♂

Love your videos Dave I watch just as much for the cinematography as the activity. I did though have to rewatch and pause on that sculpture of a pig, I thought it was a medieval torture rack with the pig remains on top initially. Got to love kids imaginations and interpretations. My son made a story of how milk is made, suffice to say that "milking the nibs" has been framed and taking pride of place on our wall. Had my wife in tears for weeks (laughter).
