Dave I came here from your videos with Adam and I have to say I love your work man. Been watching your videos for a bit now and it’s great to see how you influence others and other artists influence you. Thank you for your service.
I see many Sachsian studio codes here. Painting ply before cutting, clear drilling and countersinking, clear labelling. Nice emergency orange stripes too. I love it. Most of my workshop is painted my own “studio teal” which is a soup of leftover house paints… one day I’ll run out and have to get some made up. As someone who once lost an argument with the surface planer, the correct use of safety equipment is paramount, because it will never happen to you… until it does.
Dave, I’m always amazed at the work and aesthetic you put in to your small work space! The one thing I am NOT good at is design, but I’m taking a lot of inspiration for my future large shop when we finally move!
I assure you you’re a better designer than you think. Any choice that results in functionality is good design. (I just made that up - go easy on me professional designers.)
You make great videos , I watch them multiple times to try and learn your techniques.Did you take classes for video making.I like the fact that you genuinely look like you are enjoying making videos, not just trying to build your channel. Thanks for doing what you’re doing, it is very inspiring.
Classes on video making? No. (BA and Masters in fine art.) Thirty years working in the film industry? Yes. I’m thrilled that you perceive my work as coming from a joy of the process not a drive to “succeed on UA-cam”, because I get up every day making damn sure aim not overly focused on the later. I need this thing to ultimately fund itself, but it can’t be about that.
Another amazing creation which just inspires me - one quick suggestion though , when you get your prescription glasses put felt in the cubby hole so they don't get scratched.
That was just lovely. You should consider lining the "Pokey" alcove with felt so you don't scratch the lenses on your safety glasses. Nothing infuriates me more then trying to look through scratched safety glasses. 😵💫😅
All my glasses are always scratched. On the rare occasion that I get fresh lenses, I’m always amazed that I spent the precious year peering through all that garbage.
I’ve built my share of shop cabinets and had never considered an articulating feature. Great seed to plant in the melon for the future. Nice work. And as a vintage/antiques person, in addition to shop person, killer tin litho graphics on that asbestos can! Nice find!
A bit of both. The cut into the side of the core box as a way to put in the gloves was a brute force redesign after taking the time to actually lay things out. I didn’t have nearly as much space left to right as I imagined and needed that half inch!
I always admire your use of inventive solutions in a limited space. Moving your saw outside certainly helps. What do your neighbours have to say about that?
More youtube makers need to turn over a jar of random screws when doing a build. i too have some vintage safety goggles with metal mesh I need to get me RX into.
Your personal styling adds so much to these videos. You've got a wonderful aesthetic, and it permeates the whole format. Great stuff.
Greatly appreciated!

Lovely - thank you!
Seeing that nitrile glove dispenser in action was unexpectedly gratifying.
For you and me both. One never really knows if things will work.

Well said, and yes, Sachs somehow moved into my my subconscious years ago.
More like an art piece than a home for PPE… Brilliant.
Thanks so much!
I love the look and feel of your stuff. It gives a "post apocalyptic fallout shelter" vibe. In the best possible way. I am obsessed
Thank you!…I think.
🤲🏼 down - the best doing it. Quietly building something awesome over the last two years here Dave
Remarkably helpful to hear. Screaming into the void over here most of the time.

I really don't have enough time to be this inspired. My to-do list is getting out of hand and you're partly to blame Mr Fogler. 😂👍
Once again, mission accomplished.
Goodness Gracious, what the actual hell, this is awesome. May be your best one ever! Very nice, love it! Fantastic, thank you!
Thank you!
This is a good one
Safety first.
And first things first.

Way ahead of you, but there’s no felt to be found in my supply cache. Soon.
Ooof! Not to self... Read all comments before commenting. I just suggested the same thing.

Great video! Have a beer on me!

Love that thing.
Brilliant! Nice video, new subscriber
Thank you!
I was planing on something like this when reorganizing my shop. Thank you very much for the inspiritation!
You are very welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
As usual a pleasure to watch
Thank you!
Did you plan this out before or as you go along? Awesome build.

Taking me back to 19-20 year old me with the paint. I sold paint at Sears and mixed a whole mess o paint.
Nice. Off camera I went down a big paint rabbit hole. Things are now consolidated, labeled, and, properly stored.
Shop safety is no joke. I had to take a class about it in college! The safety cabinet looks great. Is the studio orange latex or acrylic ?
Acrylic - I mix it up from assorted houseplants kicking around.
I always admire your use of inventive solutions in a limited space. Moving your saw outside certainly helps. What do your neighbours have to say about that?
Never a complaint! (Happily.)
You can cross it off of YOUR projects list, but you've just added it to mine 😂
Mission accomplished.

Random!? Bite your tongue. Those are carefully curated artisanal vintage screws. Not available in stores.
The nail story is my worst phobia come to life. I literally went "ehheehehehheheh!" and visibly shook.
Yeah - it was no good. The surgeon was amazing though and very proud to show me how small his stitches were.
Ahh yes, another upload from my favorite bald, goateed, glassed man.
Edit: Walter white obviously comes second
Balding. I prefer the term, balding.
Love it. But now I have to know why you spelled “orange” like that on your paint lid.
Rorange! It’s a red-orange. Some version of it is my favorite color. Just look at all my graphics!
Anyone else sing “girl from Ipanema” during this instructional?
You can sing it, but not too loud. The license for that one would be exorbitant.
@ fine I’ll hum along quietly in my head.
