I did not expect to see a functioning fuel guage on a bike this old. Also surprised to see the pedals since this has a 50 cubic inch motor instead of the 50 cc engine on a modern moped. Very cool that it is in running condition.
I wish I could ever afford to have one. I’m not fussy any American made bike from 1912 to 1930 would be kool. Who knows maybe in my next life they won’t cost so much. Kool bikes.
Digging around, all over the world. Patience too! Most were not mechanically running, or missing original parts, which I had to find, and get them running.
So there is this "steampunk" picture that has a patent for an engine. This engine looks very similar with carb set up. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/fa/95/6a/fa956a8d2cf81bd3c6c92657744aef4a.jpg
Great bke. I sense the dog on left could be turning into a film diva........ do I sense a tantrum coming on?? Films et not right? Wardrobe not in the right colour?? NOt the right brand of coffee?
Nice to see this famous machine in the past alive again.
Love the cutouts on the bottom of the fuel tank to accomodate the valves.

It seems like the pedals would keep turning once the motor starts running.
very cool! at 2:20 your brown lab seems unimpressed. :-)
So nice, love that muffler set up. What engine is this?? Did super x, exellsior, indian, harley etc, all use the same engines??
TheTorkerman-Adam NO !
What kind of petrol does it use (Leaded, or non)? And how fast does it go?
That intake pipe is sexy....
Aren't the brakes that engage when you rear-peddle called 'corkscrew brakes?'
were do you get all of these bikes :) ????
From all over, most were missing a couple things, and had to be mechanically rebuilt.
I wish I could ever afford to have one. I’m not fussy any American made bike from 1912 to 1930 would be kool. Who knows maybe in my next life they won’t cost so much. Kool bikes.
Are ALL these Excelsiors yours, or is this a hobby/business that you provide for other owners? Either way, how thrilling!!!

That is a Spacke motor drawing. Used in bike like Sears, Dayton, etc. Similar, but probably 42deg not 45deg. Similar yes, good eye Chris.
