    On an XR250, uncorking it basically means you remove the silencer piece from your exhaust insert, remove the snorkel from the intake airbox, put in a drop-in replacement air filter such as the one from UNI, grind down the welds inside the header pipe, and re-jet the bike so it runs right with your new modifications. It makes a huge difference in power and sound, and you can do all of this for about $40 in parts (just the jets and air filter).

    @Innerstswe dude i was going up a steep hill and slamming the clutch hard into 2nd or 3rd and i would get pop but difficulty keeping it. on a flat plane it would be impossible. there must be a key difference if not engine then drivetrain or suspension or something!

    What CC y should buy depends on where u wanna ride.
    Hard gnarly enduroriding a 250exc (4stroke) is realy nice.
    if u plan on going gravel and street a KTm 500/525/530exc would be my choice
    And a 450 is descent as a hybrid for it all.
    Difference are the tires basicly instead of 21" and 18" u go 17" whit slicks.The suspension is also altered for supermoto racing but that is nothing you have to care about on the streets. There usually is more tuning on the SM (racetrack) bikes then the enduro ones

    I have an XR250R as well... the bike is geared so low as is, I don't think I could ever justify going even lower unless all you plan to do is slow wheelies all day. Did you uncork your bike? That will make a huge difference in your ability to pull wheelies on an XR250R. Even with it uncorked though... they don't put out a ton of power by modern standards, so you'll be using your clutch to get the bike up in most situations over 10 MPH.

  • @jebova2301
    @jebova2301 12 років тому

    Gotcha. I wasn't considering the laws that may be. If a 125 is the biggest you can get, the easiest way will just be put a bigger rear sprocket on there. It will reduce your top speed and make your speedometer be incorrect, but it will allow the bike to transmit more torque to the ground to pull it up a little easier. Think of it as a tiny sprocket being like starting a car in 3rd gear and a big one as it being in 1st. 1st accelerates quicker, but less top speed. same with the bigger sprocket.
