Just bought the black hole 55L duffel for sports climbing. Can hold my 70m rope, 14+ quick draws, grigri, other gear plus snacks, change of clothes.. holds everything no problem. Kinda wish it would maintain integrity as a back pack but a small compromise for that beautiful spacious bag
I bought the Base Camp Large 95 L. But I went to REI and compared it with the Black Hole 70L, and the Patagonia could actually hold more stuff. Maybe because it has a more square section rather than round, and is not as rigid. It is a couple of inches longer, so I can fit some fins for diving more comfortably. I am returning the TNF, actually, the Black Hole was on sale as well and quite cheaper. For checked baggage, the ease of removing the straps is an advantage, even if usually I put my checked bag inside the Samsonite Tote-a-thon duffel sleeve.
I have owned and used the north face duffle for over 3 years and have carried and checked it for about 15 flights and used it in over 20 Countries. The carry is not idle (depending on how you pack it, but the durability and the sheer volume are unbeatable!
@@lanco7705 North Face say the Small (50L) is the largest for carry-on (most airlines have a cap at 45L), though I've heard people using the Medium as a carry-on when not packing completely full.

Yes. I use this bag for my snowboard boots, helmet, pants, jacket, other clothes, daypack, and a few other accessories. Its crammed in there pretty tightly. And snowboard boots are often smaller than ski boots.

What size is your duffle?? I read that medium is just about the right size for overhead luggage?
@@lanco7705 If you mean as a carry-on, the perfect size is North Face Size S (50Liters)

Would the black hole be good for a two day ski trip, would it fit the boots and some clothes for the two days?
