Premise: After an amazing first date, Bea and Ben's fiery attraction turns ice cold - until they find themselves unexpectedly reunited at a destination wedding in Australia. So they do what any two mature adults would do: pretend to be a couple.

Zone of disinterest.
I sadly think Im the only human being on Earth that likes Will Glucks first film Fired Up. Its a terribly dumb and dated early 2000s comedy but I always appreciated it because it knows how stupid it is.

It was raunchier than I expected and it had a lot of cheese but I enjoyed myself 🧀
The ending song montage was a great idea although I wish they picked a different song.
I really enjoyed this film. Some of the stuff didn’t make sense, but I just leave it out especially being a “Romcom.” You shouldn’t put too much into it, because all romcoms are like that. ❤

15 hours of Natasha Bedingfield would be like a form of torture used at Guantánamo Bay. Nothing about the characters or writing was believable at all. Felt like it was written by AI.

This movie was a struggle to watch because the writing was so bad & outdated. The leads did their best with the material they were given, but there was only so much they could do.
Ack, I'd rather just rewatch the incredible Kenneth Branaugh version!

Your point about the wedding cake being picked up is relevant to the overall feeling that whoever wrote the screenplay should have researched how Rich people live, and added that to the screenplay as part of the humor. Could have had a Schitt's Creek kind of clueless rich family vibe...
I love “Anyone But You! Bea and Ben (Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell) are really good romcom characters. Bea is endearing because she tries to show a brave front, but admits that she is lost and a mess. Ben tries to present as being perfectly fine, but is a mess also. They both have a melancholy about them. When these kindred spirits look into each other’s eyes it is effervescent. When they act hurtful towards each other it is because they both opened up to the other and then felt brushed off by the other. Amidst the comedy, there is something bittersweet that speaks to my heart directly…

During the first grilled cheese scene, she said that her life was a disaster. When he felt dismissed and brushed off after she abandoned him, he lashed out and used those words out of a deep feeling of hurt…
