  • So... I made a new version of my PowerSGL wrapper, which includes also DirectDraw wrapper. As you can see there are no more issues with perspective. This video was recorded to show improvement in visual quality rather than gameplay skills, so I'm mostly focused on showing objects from different angles/distance etc. I would like to release this as soon as possible, but as you can see on the video, first I need to finish DirectDraw wrapper and correct some SGL issues.     SGL version is best
    "The PowerVR uses alpha transparency which delivers better results
    than the color key transparency used in the 3DFX version. Also bi-linear
    filtering is also used on the transparent textures, the 3Dfx version
    turns filtering off on the transparent textures. Also the under
    water scenes are improved using fog effects, 3DFX doesn't do this, for
    this reason the under water scenes are looking considerably better on
    the PowerVR."
    + no fps lock
    +3dfx (glide) has visible errors when both Mip Mapping and Bi-linear filtering are used.

    Hi Tux, hope you are doing well. It has been a long time that we haven't heard on this project. It'll be so nice to get an update on it here or somewhere like vogons. And as the PCX/PCX2 source is out, I hope that was able to help in many ways for any difficulties that slowed it down. Hoping for a reply.

    Any plans for Dosbox support for games like Tomb Raider?

      +burningwreckage00 In order to get Tomb Raider working, this card would need to be emulated. For this I need datasheet/technical documentation of this card OR a real PowerVR PCX card to do reverse engineering before writing such PowerVR emulation code. Sadly, I don't have real card, neither datasheet.

      +Tuxality Try getting your hands on real cards if you can but that's easier said than done so i understand if you can't. And its about time someone made a wrapper for SGL so thanks for making this.

      +Tuxality One questoin, the PowerVR version crashes if you go to continue screen with Temjin/Apharmd/Raiden/Viper 2?

      +TheArcadeStriker On modern systems, yes, it does. However, it can be fixed.
