At the time of this video, this lift retailed for $1,600. Over the years it has also come and gone multiple times from the Harbor Freight website. My best guess is they sell them when they have them in stock. Remember, this is a scissor lift, it's not really designed to get access to the underside of a vehicle. You really need something like a post lift for that kind of access. This is perfect for lower body and detail work, you can wheel all around the car without post casting shadows or getting in your way. It's a different tool, for a different job. Also I see a lot of concerns about safety. I did a follow up PSA regarding safety concerns, hopefully this explains how not to use a scissor lift. ua-cam.com/video/RAqqgq7ielE/v-deo.html
My opinion is feel comfort with German style than scissors or two pole type. Sine both of it have only small support. Stability is not good enough for me. ua-cam.com/video/ocMXSF32NPE/v-deo.html

Great review. I’ve been wanting a lift. Back when I was a kid my dad had a auto repair. He bought a lift from a gas station that had closed. It was a frame style with sliding legs. Man it was nice. Now that I’m 59 I just can’t crawl around on the floor anymore. Thanks for the video
I'm 31 and thinking about getting a lift, do it dude, I couldnt imagine another 30yrs of crawling around on a creeper and jack stands hahahaha Itt's cheap but holy cow I work on cars too much to be doing that for much longer
Years ago, you could have a"pit", where you could stand up under the car to grease it, change oil, etc. For some reason, they were outlawed. I worked for years at a Chrysler assembly plant in a pit, with cars moving down the line. I guess a major corporation can do it but not a garage or a hobbyist. Might makes right !
I worked at HFT for 12 years in the store and for corporate, I visited the Quality department in CA a number of times, and despite some of their tools being junk (for anyone but the casual user) the QA department took their jobs seriously, its a lot of work to change something but wherever improvements and safety was concerned they tried their best to roll out those changes in the next iteration. I was proud to work for a company like HFT, they actually do care about bringing good quality tools at lower prices, it may take them longer to get there than the big names but they try.
@@wildestcowboy2668 I don't know how frequently you shop at HFT but if you've noticed that many products have multiple SKU"s, some of the tarps for instance have 5 plus different SKU"s. This is because each SKU has some modification to the design that effects the items performance or longevity. The QC department does its research, suggests a change, the change is implemented as a new SKU # then they see how well it performs. I was at the QC building when they were prototyping the Hercules and Bauer Drills, They were doing real world and stress tests on the drills. They had 3 or 4 huge stones out back of the building and they were drilling thousands of holes to see how well the drills held up and how long the battery would last under heavy load.
@@wildestcowboy2668 Burned out, In the last couple of years there I was doing a bunch of PM work across pretty much every state in the country traveling nonstop. My average work week was in excess of 90 hours and I had some 300+ days of rental cars in my last year. I cant blame HFT for all of it, most of it was just the requirements of the job but some of it was due to my own pedanticism. I received an opportunity to take a very slight pay cut but go down to about 50 hours a week with zero travel, I took it and it was good for my health. But to be honest I miss the work and the travel. If I ever got the opportunity to work for them in a similar position again I would take it in a heartbeat.
Have one for 14 years. Love it. I rebuilt the cylinders s year ago. Wierd thing I notice you say is yours is 220. Mine is 120v. Just plug it in and go. Lifted my 454 big block k2500 4x4 suburban last month all the way up, no problems. Also we made wide ramps to drive low vehicles on it to clear. Also if you want to move it raise it up to first safety notch. That rotates the hitch plate and makes moving a lot easier.
Nice review. Appreciate the reasonable explanations of the product. The follow up to this responding to comments was well done also. It’s clear you are trying to think stuff through. Keep posting!
Hello sir how are you today alllll righty then I have a package for you. Sounds broken. Most likely sir I'm sure it was something nice. Now if you just sign here
As a 20+ year certified welder i find it hilarious when people say the welds look good or bad! Well I’m welding it’s not the how a weld looks it’s how does it hold! In other words it could be the best looking weld you ever seen and not hold 100 pounds or it could look like crap and hold a building! When it come to welding looks can be deceiving!
As a non certified welder, I agree. That being said, you can spot a bad weld if it's bad enough. And your right, really good looking welds can be cold and fail.
oh my god Dodge Ram 01 ! Thank you for the comment. i have said the same for years ! These "welders" nowadays will argue till blue and still keep going. so glad to know that someone else out there has the same thoughts and understanding..
This guy never complained, all I hear is that shouldn't be a big deal, this can be fixed, that can be fixed no problem. Nothing is a surprise to him. Even when the path is not there let's just keep walking the road will come. You got you a number one fan here.
I bought one of these about 15 years ago.i used it for working on VW bugs,it was great for removing the engine, brake work and many other things. Never had a problem with it.
Being in the transportation industry for 22 years I can say this. DON"T ever accept a package that is damaged. Reason? If everyone continues accepting damaged packages the manufacture will have NO incentive to better package their product. ALWAYS refuse damaged goods if you have the option. This will force trucking companies like FedEx, UPS, Estes, OD, DHL, etc to also better handle your product. It is a must to hold the transportation and manufacturers accountable for packaging and shipping our products to their final destination. If we don't we all suffer. Good job on vid man, enjoy the lift...at least what's not broken on it during the shipping process.
This is a great unit. It passed my last test as it picks up my 06 crew cab silverado 1500 4x4 with no problem at all. I was a bit hesitant at first but shes a beast. It feels secure in the air. Doesnt feel like its gona tip over even after i give it a couple shoves to test the sturdiness. I had to change the oring in the pick up tube and oil pan gasket. Have had this lift for about 4 years and its definatley a great addition to my home garage.
I'm Leary about any lift or Jack. Got the HF hydraulic lift small motorcycle one for sbout $130.00 on sale and with a coupon about 6 years ago. It's fine even with an 800 lb bike on it. Not anchored down as a move it around . It's a knock off of the Italian pump up lifts most motorcycle shops had way back when. HF is improving quality on some things. But if you need a one time use tool really can't beat EM. To bad though it's not made here. Good review! I think the pump pick up issue is due to poorly paid laborers as I see a lot of that in China's products of all types as it's just slapped together.
Actually, I've had no problem lifting my 3/4 ton truck that weighs >5900lbs. Zero stability problems and zero issues lifting it. The 6000# rating is totally legit.

Fantastic review. I didn't even know HF offered a scissor lift. The lift worked great and lifted very high. I really appreciate how you are forthcoming about the problems and and fixes you encountered. Overall a great value. The clearance issues are a real problem for me. I don't think HF offers 25% percent coupons anymore
I have the same lift and brought it used. Love for what it's capable of doing. Everything you use in life has limitations, learning to work around them makes life challenging! !! Also if you raise the lift up 1 to 2 hi , it makes moving easier. Congratulations!
I have owned this unit for about 6 years. There are at least 3 safety issues. First, over time the spring that detents the teeth gets weak and does not engage. Second, if the hydraulic unit falls over and snaps the hose, it goes right to the floor. I welded a large screw over the cam and screw it down tight. I also added more meat to the teeth. They are too shallow. The last issue was the power switch. It will arc and stick. This means it will not stop going up.
@@billcoley8520 Yes, without my mods, it is a dangerous machine. If the hose for any reason comes off, it can go right to the floor. Should have safety valving in hydraulics to prevent this.
I have had mine for at least 15 years,,,it still serves well,,, I use it at least once a week,,,and more most times. It lifts my car,,fullsize Tundra pick up,,and my motorcycle,,,,its possibly the most sought after piece of equipment by my neighbors. I give it a thumbs up all around. One neighbor has bought one as well,,,,,,if there has been any issue its the coating on the steel, it really failed too early. But that has been touched up over the years as required.
Im a strong Harbor Freight client, for over 20 years and I like to read or view (as in your case) the product reviews ; you did excellent in every respect, stayed on the subject, advised about the discount at purchase and with the coupon, you indicated your problems encountered, your displeasure about how you solved them & why, your advise to Harbor Freight about packaging and your overall rating; it does help , i too want to buy one and this helped finalize that decision, thanks !!
I paid 1,800 for my Dannmar Max Jack, worth checking out before you go buy this. It’s a twin post lift, goes up about 44 inches and leaves the entire space below the car open. Clear access to the transmission, engine and suspension. I use a low rolling stool and it’s a lot better than swimming around on the concrete. Still not as good as a full size twin post lift, but that’s next. 😁
Get the Quick-Jack. The Quick-Jack allows you to work on the underside of your car and also replace/rotate wheels, since there are two jacks....One jack for each side of the car which exposes the underside for work and repairs. This Harbor Freight jack is more expensive, and prevents you from being able to do repairs. It's good for rotating tires, and that's about it.
Quick Jack's are awesome! And they store better. I looked at them before buying this lift, but for me, the lift is a better option. For lower body / detail work, this lift works out really well. A stool with good wheels and now your saving your back! I also wanted to use it as a welding table when not being used as a lift. If a person wanted to do mechanic work other then brakes, then the quick Jack's would be a better option!
They’re for body work I do restos and have scissor lifts and quick jacks as post lifts are kinda useless when u have posts in your way they’re good for separating body’s from frames tho
Great review. I could see that being a handy lift in short garages. I would like to see it modified with some kind of f outriggers before I would trust it at full height with a vehicle on it. Looks like a good lift for wheel/tire/suspension work but like most scissors jacks it is really in the way for any under car maintenance. Good video!
@@peterbond3628 You might be able to bolt down the front section, but the back half must move on the floor as the scissors close to extend the height. A good concrete floor would be important because a lot of weight will be on the two back rollers.
1D10CRACY Fair enough but I wouldn’t even stand next to that thing with a car on it. I’ve definitely seen my share of crap harbor freight metal quality and welds. Anyway good luck with it.
this style lift has been around for years. i bought one used from a guy that also bought it used. he said it was probably 10-15 years old. I had to replace the seals in the cylinders but it works fine now.
Nice vid. Just watched your follow up to this and have a few comments. This tool has its limitations, but it is just another tool in your box. You are a very capable person with lots of common sense. I'd like to think that you don't let "Primitive Pete" type guys get up down. They are just a little jealous and not so smart. As a dealership mechanic for 36 years I can see the words of wisdom in your safety message.
I'm not even that interested after finding out what it was for because I am a motorcycle guy and have the HF motorcycle lift. But his voice and presentation style kept me engaged.
Nice review. You can make up a quick disconnect at the pump so you can easily detach the unit from the lift, similar connections used on tractors and other hydraulic lines like the Bobcats. I have the Bendpak MD6-XP. I got a queen size bed frame at Habitat ReStore, put some OSB on it and just push it over the lift when not in use, can keep my mower, leaf machine and other stuff on top when not using the lift,. I easily dropped the subframe on my '99 Taurus wagon with this type of lift, using engine support bar tool, and no problem at all to swap transmission out. The front of the car hangs over the lift for easy access. Many Corvette and Porsche owners use this style lift too, some recess it in the concrete to keep it flush with diamond plate over it when not in use. Sure a post lift lets you work under the car, however you have the posts in the way all the time. I like the scissor lift design. BTW you have a lot more patience fixing the lift then I would have had. Best Regards
I can hardly chew gum and walk at the same time let alone talk and video tape. ;) Sadly I made a bunch of errors when I shot the film, but I felt it may answer some questions for anyone looking to buy one of these in the future, so I have posted it anyhow.
@tall bike guy Civilian chutes are square, run of the mill Army chutes are round but do have steering panels. The Army's demo team uses squares which are much more maneuverable than the ones used by airborne units.
Every single product that anyone purchases should be in perfect condition and running order, no matter the price you pay! Just because it's Harbor Freight does not mean you have to settle for less. You shouldn't be fixing a brand new product.
I GOTTA TELL YOU I WAS IMPRESSED. NOT JUST ON THE LIFT BUT YOUR PRESENTATION. YOU HAVE A GOOD DEEP TONE TO YOUR VOICE AND YOU EXPLAIN THINGS IN A WAY THAT ANYONE CAN UNDERSTAND. I WAS ALSO VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE LIFT. WHEN YOU PUT THAT LINCOLN ON THERE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO STRUGGLE A LITTLE BUT IT DIDN'T EVEN HESITATE. THE LIFT HEIGHT IS PERFECT FOR SOMEONE THAT WANTS TO DO THEIR OWN WORK ON THEIR CAR. MY ONLY CONCERN WOULD BE IS IT STABLE WHEN ALL THE WAY UP AS HIGH AS IT CAN GO. I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN KNOWING ABOUT THAT. I WILL BE BUILDING A 3 BAY WORKSHOP NEXT TO MY NEW HOME HERE IN THAILAND AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN IT. BEING THIS CLOSE TO CHINA MAYBE I CAN GET A BETTER PRICE ON IT. LOL
Watched your PSA video for which the comments are disabled so I couldn’t make this point there. One of the greatest dangers of this type of lift is the floor underneath it. That solid looking concrete garage floor might have a serious weak spot either due to a bad pour or a sinkhole under it, if you’re going to lift more than a bike or a Miata GET THE FLOOR CHECKED! There are firms that ultrasound concrete to check for the types of issues that could kill you. If you can’t find a company or they want too much get some heavy steel plates that are over 12 inches larger in all directions than the area the feet travel on and bolt them to the floor.
unemployable . The point is Unless you have X-ray vision don’t trust it for heavy vehicles. The entire weight of the lift and vehicle is on four tiny contact patches and if you rock the vehicle almost all the weight can be shifted on to one knife edge area about two inches long even really good concrete with a hole underneath will fail under that load and you can never trust that a home garage was built properly or a water pipe hasn’t leaked and washed away the foundations.
unemployable . I’m not talking about a quality job with good foundations. I’m talking about the stuff I’ve seen in a lot of home garages. The lift maximum load is 6000 pounds plus the weight of the lift of about five hundred, normally that is divided by the four corners so that’s about 1600 pounds per corner, the contact pad on the back corners is a roller of about two inch diameter and two inch length giving it a contact area of less than an inch. Rock a six thousand pound vehicle on that lift and you could get a shock load of over three thousand pounds. Concrete with questionable foundations and questionable pour quality may not be able to handle a 3000 pound shock load. Search for videos of hoist collapses many will be the floor giving up.
@@inthewoods5471 . My initial comment was a PSA so no one gets crushed by a vehicle toppling off the lift which happens fairly often especially when idiots ignore safety warnings.
To get around the ground clearance issue you can build two long ramps out of 3 or more stacked 2" x 12"s that are flush on one end and stepped on the other at about a 12" offset/stagger to drive the vehicle up and over it. Just make sure the top level is long enough for the wheelbase and a 4" x 4" tire stop at the flush end of each ramp. Thanks for the video.
Yes, there is an air switch in the trunk to turn off the air ride system on the town cars. I usually have to remind the tire people about that too. LOL
Great review. If I bought one of those I'd have to cut the concrete in the garage about an inch in the spot I would permanently leave it so I got better clearance. Other than that I think I would buy it.
I have what appears to be a a similar lift I have had for 14 years at least. The lift works great and has saved me a lot of time. A beach chair on a furniture dolly allows me to slide under my car and work with ease. These lifts are sold by many different companies but are all the same. They come from I believe China, so it would be hard to blame Harbor Freight for bad packaging.
I had snapons version of this for years and it was rated to pick up a full size extcab truck and it did a great job . The arms were way beefier and longer and had extendable tubes that those pads set in for different heights. I added a wider heavier steel pad on the front for side stability. . It was perfect for my paint and bodyshop. And is still in operation 20yrs old . This HF lift isnt far off the quality of the snapon 1 . I might go get 1 and modify for my commercial zeroturn mowers. The price is good considering I'm gonna cut it up and modify right off the bat .
just FYI, Snap-On DOES NOT MAKE lift equipment or floor jacks. THEY NEVER HAVE! This equipment is made FOR Snap-On by import companies, I.E., Japan or China AND Possibly USA, which is very rare back then AND these days. I am in the hydraulic repair business so I know this to be a fact. You are ONLY PAYING FOR THE NAME, AND TRIPLE THE PRICE AT THAT! Not to be mean, just telling you a true fact. I know many mechanics who buy from snap-on and the jacks and or lifts are NOT MADE by them, only painted with their logo on the equipment. All you have to do is look closely on the tag or frame and you will see where it was made.
Very informative video! The presentation was awesome! Not once did you criticize the lift but you didn’t give it any praises either... It seems as if you wanted to leave that up to the viewers! I myself don’t have the room for a device such as this but it was pretty cool 😎 to watch it in action.

you could recess out the concrete in the area where you want the lift to live at, so it will be flush with the floor, that would give you more room to lift up lower cars
If you are like me and do everything yourself, the Quick Jack is for you. All of the pieces can be moved easily by one person and it raises your car up to 21 inches and with the rubber blocks, it can be another 4 inches. I bought mine for $1000.
Quick Jacks are awesome and great if you need access under the vehicle. But if you're like me and do everything yourself including detail work, you'd have both. Scissor lifts are great for detail work, as you can lift the vehicle higher than the quick jacks will allow you too. Then you can sit on a stool and wheel all around the car w/out any obstructions or shadows a post lift would give you. While not in use, you can use it as an adjustable work table as I do. But when you need to work "under" the vehicle, you grab the Quick Jacks and use them. :D
Its DIY. Not DYI... haha I hate when I screw stuff like that when I'm recording. Glad you were able to fix your problems. Great video and very detailed. Look forward to your other videos.
I’ve had one for about two years. I have a small garage with a 9’ ceiling. Its perfect for access to front end, rear end, interior work.. pretty much everything other than transmission and some exhaust. I did buy the pad extensions because my foxbody is low to the ground. I did need to build a ramp system to drive onto because everything bottoms out. Even a basic Nissan Sentra. When the car is on the lift, it’s a bit sketchy. I feel like it wouldn’t take much to to push it over. Of course, the higher you go, the worse it gets. All in all it’s a great lift. It is quite limited, but, it makes up for it in convenience. Oh, I also use it to lift my tractor and it doubles as an adjustable work surface when I don’t have a car on it.. I just toss a sheet of plywood on it.
Hi, I will like to ask u.....if this one is in your garage...... because I got a SUV 4runner ,99 .... My question is.....if I can do in my truck.....inside the garage? Because you know all the garage mostly are the same high.... And I don't think if I can do myself.....is very haevy right..to move around. Thank you.
I have this lift, i have used it a lot, I've had chevy Silverado's Toyota, trucks on it and it is very safe as long as you have it on a good spot for lifting your vehicle, and the safety lock is engaged.
Absolutely! I was finding good used 2 post for half that in my area! But I didn't want to work around the post and don't have the garage to support one. ua-cam.com/video/RAqqgq7ielE/v-deo.html
A scissor lift is really a different tool than a two post lift. There are more differences than similarities. Most home shop guys can't install a two post because of height restrictions and/or inadequate concrete. The comment about not wanting to "work around" the posts is a little baffling, as the posts are nowhere near any area you would be dealing with, unless you were working inside the interior. Scissor lifts work well if you're mostly doing wheel and tires, brakes and suspension, and some fluid changes. Not as well for exhaust work or driveline and transmission. There's not much you cannot do with a two post (exceptions being frame straightening and alignment) they provide the best access to all areas of your vehicle. I have a 10k, clear floor two post lift in my shop, and I can lift everything from my son's radically lowered Audi to my 3/4 ton diesel crew cab. It gets used regularly. Because there is nothing on the shop floor (other than the posts), I can use the bay to load and unload. One day, I'll get around to installing another rv door in my shop, but until then, that bay needs to be versatile.
The "problem" with a 2-post lift is that you are supposed to have a minimum of 4" of concrete to install them and most home garages don't have that. I bought one of the MaxJax 2-post lifts. It is a 48" lift and fits nicely in the garage and can be unbolted and moved to the side when not in use. So far, the 3.5" of concrete that I have is holding. It is rated at 6,000 pounds, but I pretty much cannot get anything that weighs 6,000 pounds into my small garage and i am making a bit of an assumption that the engineers implemented some safety factors into the equation. So, the 3.5" (measured at the holes I drilled to mount it) is still working. It is a great device.
You are very correct! Also, by what I meant by "Work around" is I just don't want the post in my way when I'm doing other things. A good example is my boat is too long to fit in the garage unless I turn it side ways across two bays. A post bolted to the floor would prevent me from getting it in there at all. If I had the room, I would love a 2 post, but it's not in my cards right now.
Just for kicks, look into the "Max Jax" 2-post units. They are bolted to the floor, but they are easily unbolted and you can wheel them to the corner of the garage when you don't want them around.
Over the years it seems to come and go from their website. I'm assuming they order a bunch, then sell till their out. My guess is they will sell it soon, again.

Also we made wide ramps to drive low vehicles on it to clear. Also if you want to move it raise it up to first safety notch. That rotates the hitch plate and makes moving a lot easier.

In other words it could be the best looking weld you ever seen and not hold 100 pounds or it could look like crap and hold a building! When it come to welding looks can be deceiving!

Wow, what a great review! Thank you for not moaning and crying. You see a problem you fix it!
Excellent review. You covered everything that most people would need!
When I saw you bring in the town car I knew you were a man of class
A couple 2x6's today costs almost as much as the lift.
The lift itself is a cool and useful tool but I would not crawl under something from harbor freight that holds that much weight.
Harbor-Fright!
I’ve been using their trans jack for semi transmissions and no problems
👍Sounds like good advice Serrano. They probably caution that in their "Safety Instructions"😂

@@robw7205 raise it up about 2feet. Then use the pump to move around. It makes it shorter(the wheel base) and easier to move
@@robw7205 The lift raises up to just under 4 feet. I think Terry means putting a 1-2 inch pad underneath the Lift if you want to reposition it.
M1088Guy that isn’t good. It sounds dangerous
Is it stable when the car is up in the air? Can you push is and it won't fall?
@@billcoley8520 Yes, without my mods, it is a dangerous machine. If the hose for any reason comes off, it can go right to the floor. Should have safety valving in hydraulics to prevent this.
@@victorC308 This is rarely an issue on solid, level ground.
I would also move the hydraulics to a wall. Use the stand to move it around. The pump can fall over and snap the line. It happened to me.

Great attitude, not expecting perfection from harbor freight.
I like your attitude. You could have sent that part back, but i admire your willingness to fix it.
I've had one of these HF lifts for many years. It has its limitations but overall, it has worked out well.
I don’t think I will crawl underneath anything sold by Harbor Freight. Well done, objective video. Unlike my comment.
I really liked the cherry picker mounted on the tractor. Do a video showing the modifications. The two videos on the scissor lift were well done!
I built one for my tractor a few yrs ago I replaced the engine in my truck with it I don't have a garage.
Big thanks for putting this informative and quality vid together.
Mine arrived with no issues. Very happy with the lift especially with the 25% off coupon. I enhanced mine with a hydraulic quick connect.
@6:32 "55 and a half inches, so almost 4 feet" I got a kick out of that phrase...
I took that to mean he lifted the car almost 4 feet. The sill of the car did not start on the concrete floor.
@@1D10CRACY buying a lift for tire rotations and brakes lol.

Good video!
For clearance between car and lift. If you don't intent ever moving lift, you could recess lift into floors, so top is just above concrete.
For safety I would bolt the lift to a heavy concrete floor. Does not look stable.
@@peterbond3628 You might be able to bolt down the front section, but the back half must move on the floor as the scissors close to extend the height. A good concrete floor would be important because a lot of weight will be on the two back rollers.
That is cool but damn, I could never trust my life to something from Harbor Freight. You are a braver man then me.
I wouldn't either! Luckily it's just a scissor lift, nothing you would ever get under!

I’m so excited to have found your video, I need a scissor lift. Outside of that very informative and non-biased objectivity. Wonderful work!
Nice review. You can make up a quick disconnect at the pump so you can easily detach the unit from the lift,
similar connections used on tractors and other hydraulic lines like the Bobcats. I have the Bendpak MD6-XP.
I got a queen size bed frame at Habitat ReStore, put some OSB on it and just push it over the lift when not in use,
can keep my mower, leaf machine and other stuff on top when not using the lift,.
I easily dropped the subframe on my '99 Taurus wagon with this type of lift,
using engine support bar tool, and no problem at all to swap transmission out. The front of the car hangs over the lift for easy access.
Many Corvette and Porsche owners use this style lift too, some recess it in the concrete to keep it flush with
diamond plate over it when not in use.
Sure a post lift lets you work under the car, however you have the posts in the way all the time.
I like the scissor lift design.
BTW you have a lot more patience fixing the lift then I would have had.

UA-cam are the asshats that flag videos for no comments
unemployable .

If I bought one of those I'd have to cut the concrete in the garage about an inch in the spot I would permanently leave it so I got better clearance. Other than that I think I would buy it.
Problem is the wheels need to roll as the jack is being raised or lowering so you couldn't notch your concrete !!
Recess it flush into the floor , no clearance issues. Put a aluminum cover over it when not in use.

All you have to do is look closely on the tag or frame and you will see where it was made.

you could recess out the concrete in the area where you want the lift to live at, so it will be flush with the floor, that would give you more room to lift up lower cars
You mean so it sits on the dirt under the concrete? Ya okay lol

Glad you were able to fix your problems. Great video and very detailed. Look forward to your other videos.

Like most harbor freight stuff if they put that extra $20 in time or material it would be good
The Chinese figure if they can smash and kill a few Americans with a scissor lift while they make a few dollars its a win-win.
Wait a minute. You're saying these things aren't made in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania?

I have this lift, i have used it a lot, I've had chevy Silverado's Toyota, trucks on it and it is very safe as long as you have it on a good spot for lifting your vehicle, and the safety lock is engaged.
$1,699! Even with the 25% taking it to $1,274, a used two post is a far better deal.
"Let's see how strong these welds *are* "
Me: *laughs neverously*
Yeah, Harbor Freight can't even make (or source) a safe jack stand! Remember their big jack stand recall where the welds broke?
Why did HF stop making this jack?
Over the years it seems to come and go from their website. I'm assuming they order a bunch, then sell till their out. My guess is they will sell it soon, again.
