I would do anything to go back in time to meet the people i cared about and stop from losing them, too tell them how much i miss them and wished i could have changed anything to bring them back.

season 1x20 when he talked to sam.. john knows he became a bad father but let's not forget that he loved his sons so much he sacrificed himself in a heartbeat we don't know why he was always gone also knowing they're are beings who could manipulate time and gives you illusions "IHaTeJOhnSoMuch" dang even sam and dean understood that all john did was to protect them because of how easily those beings can kill them, if john didn't "raise" them in that lifestyle they would either be angry to him why he didn't avenge their mom or worse they would get killed by a being they don't even know existed... john became a bad father to protect his sons and he did/always loves his sons...let me end thia by Sam's own words talking to young john (he died protecting us)
Wait shouldn't Mary remember Dean in s12 as she met him in s4 and the angels didn't wipe her memory from s4 they only wiped her memory of angels she should remember him as a hunter that she met during the azazel deal

I think her memory of the two times she met Dean was erased at the end of this episode.
She probably was under a lot of stress and confusing you know after the whole being brought back to life by god's sister things
