I think it's fun to let big fish go, but usually we keep them, because we like to freeze our fish, and most of my family likes fish. I have been trying to let more fish go, like if they're in the middle of their spawn. It's just fine if you let most of your fish go.
Fun way to spend Christmas time - watching your underwater views of the trout vs. Gulp minnows. Wish they were more durable (maybe Maxscent minnows are?)
I fish all these same areas but I'm not going to show you guys my tricks dude if I showed you what I do in these areas you guys wouldn't even watch this guy
@@bassntroutfishingyou'll figure out how to target the next size class at some point. Them big fish are down there in those weeds hiding from you and those fish will only feed at specific times and on specific things. They won't just swim by your camera and refuse your bait, they won't come near you. In any case real trout are extremely territorial so when you're in the right spot you're not gonna find lots of fish. The big aggressive fish push all those smaller fish off the warm springs and hatch mats which is why they are so hungry and displaced throughout the water column. The other problem is your fishing over stocked fish that don't even know how to be a wild trout. They will not teach you how to target real trout. Find the warm water, find the bugs and you'll find the big wild trout. There's a few mixed in but there's bigger ones also.
@@bassntroutfishing so the biggest trout I have ever seen caught... Brook trout, wild, was in the Adirondacks, NY. My good friends son about 6 yrs old at the time was catching small sunfish and perch. He didn't know how to unhook them yet so he used to slap them off the surface till they came off or skip them across the surface till their lips ripped off. He makes a lot of noise doing it. I don't know how it went down but I looked over and saw his Spiderman rod cranked over hard ripping drag. It was nearly pulling him in. 7 or 8 pound female grabbed his sunfish at his feet. Like a pike would. I've been fishing that pond almost 25 years and never saw a fish like that. Biggest ice seen there was 4 pounds maybe 5. We ate the trout and I realized after we came out the woods it was definitely a state record fish by over a pound at least. We have a few witnesses. Fish was 29 inches bro. Another time I got one on a hula popper in the middle of the night that got off at the canoe. I've always wondered if it was a splake but the Dec tells me they don't stock that pond because it's 1 of 20 remaining with the original wild brook trout strain.
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁

Let me guess are you the one who goes around with a treble hook and a weight? Kind of cringey you feel the need to say that.

I’d watch you use punctuation….if you ever tried it.
