- Lake Gregory pulled a fast one and did a surprise stocking of 2,000lb of Calaveras trout (Lightning & Rainbow trout) ! Word spread quick. I arrived at 6am, It was still pitch dark but there were plenty of people already fishing as their lights lit up the whole lake. I waited until it was bright to make my way around the lake jigging with no success. When the wind picked up, I swapped to powerbait which seemed to get the job done.

Phenix mirage 6'1" rod + Shimano Sahara 500 reel + 4lb izorline xxx

Great Day of Fishing 🎣Kimberly 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Wow, congrats! And great to see they are stocking the big 'uns again. It is rare to see anyone with baitcasting reels on this lake, BFS or not. Another great way to enjoy this lake is with float tubes. A few years ago, we were regularly catching 3-7 pounders. We got a couple of 7+ in one fall season. It was an amazing time. Liked.
The guys out on the tubes that day were killing it. I may have to give that a go sometime!
Way to go Chris!!!!!! My wife is also a Filipina and has NO PROBLEM showing me she can do anything I can do better. It is good that you didn’t get skunked. 😇
Ha! Yep, Team Chris, Single Hook! Dig the video. Subscribed!
haha i respect that! thank you(:
WOWWW !Kim, iiii think you should leave Chris at home next time...lol😊
😆
I like how you are competitive and humble at the same time while you keep laughing all the time. Lol
Thank you! ☺️
Wow. Good sized fish. Looks cold but at least it's dry.
agreed. cold I can manage. wet, not so much 😅
Well done Kimmy!! Hope the New Year treat you even better than the last!
Thank you Chris, same to you! Have a Merry Christmas 🙂
Those are nice trout. And well presented by the young woman, thank you for posting this. Looks like you had plenty of elbow room, that makes it twice as nice. Tight lines.
thank you! (:
@@itskimmayy12 and if I may--not knowing your career plans, please consider public speaking, television down the line. We need less "polish" but phony types, you speak well and are AT EASE, which puts the viewer at ease. We like hearing and seeing you, end of story. You may have a marketable skill if honed and polished--though as I said, don't let "them" hone and polish you to the point you are no longer, you. Just my two cents, I have no idea if you would even be interested--just sayin.
@@jimquantic i appreciate the kind words, thank you!
Nice to see women fishing🤙🏼. lol on the trash talking Kim😆. Chris my braddah..you gotta watch your pole🤣🤣and just bring a spare fishing rod for single hook (mice tails, etc.) You both had some really nice catches.
Hahah i don’t always outfish Chris. But when I do, i 🗑️ talk 😂
Do have a question. In these large wide open waters, most use spinning reel with 4 lbs braid for maximum casting distance. What advantages does BFS offer you over spinning reels in these environments? I actually have BFS equipment but never used it... Thanks in advance for any insight.
I guess for large, wide open waters, there aren't any real advantages besides preference of reel. Personally, I can cast further with a bfs than a spinning reel. The accuracy of my casts are better as well. Since I do a lot of jig fishing, casting with a bfs takes less effort/less tiring than with a spinning reel
@@itskimmayy12 Thanks. Just to confirm, you cast further with BFS even with a 1/16 and 1/32 jigs? I've not tried BFS so I don't know but this is amazing if so. I thought a spinning reel without a spool to spin up would cast further all day long. Regarding tiring, I can see that. The ergonomics is wonderful. However, with a properly built spinning rod with a 5 oz spinning reel that is perfectly neutral in balance is a revelation as to how effortless over the course of a day. Thanks again for the interaction. No more questions besides the distance question. For me, casting distance is a top priority in these wide open waters. Not much accuracy needed - where BFS really excels.
@@2musiclover534 Yes, I can toss a 1/32 and 1/16 oz jig further with a bfs, but I cannot toss a 1/64. i can only toss that with a spinning. This is just me personally. I think i just suck casting with a spinning reel haha.
@@itskimmayy12 Amazing. I'll have to try. May I ask what kind of line and lb test are you using? Gregory is wonderful lake. Back in the day, my kids picked up a bunch of trophies and some cash when they ran a bunch of fishing derbies for kids, including one special event just for kids drawing hundreds of people. Fun days but the person running it passed away.
The info is id description of video click on more@@2musiclover534
"Secret Stock" It's crazy how many people have inside information on plants and how quickly they show up! I was at a lake one day when the truck came, there was 0 cell reception at the lake and like 5 minutes after the truck rolled in I swear like 30 cars showed up immediately! Looks like a fun day!
haha, sounds about right!
Chris accepted defeat when his fish bit
🤣 i don't blame him haha
Great video and nice size fish.🎉have a wonderful Xmas
Thank you Robert (: have a wonderful Christmas as well!
that was so cool! i loved your video:)
Thank you!(:
Good job out there.Great fishing day for both of you...
Thank you Jeff!
i should have went that day. i stayed aways because i figured it would be packed shoulder to shoulder
The popular spots were definitely shoulder to shoulder
What part of lake Gregory were u fishing at ?
Nice! I don't see to many people fishing a bait casting setup for trout. I haven't been to Gregory in at least 10 years.
Oh wow. Maybe it’s time to visit Gregory(:
Nice! Look at these big trouts!
Good job Kim, Bob from dock 2 at F and F
@@robertfarrell4409 hey Bob! Thanks for watching, I’ll see ya at FnF 🙂
That’s a cool lookin lake. Just saw The Csickfisherman on video there.
New Sub here. Trout is definitely not yet my thing so studying up.
What a crazy winding road to get there at least on the map. Hoping to hit this spot soon with the kayak.
A nice bundle of meat for you and your guy. I’m more intrigued by BFS every time I see it.
Dope video, nice work to both of you.

Thanks for stopping by my channel! You’ll do well here with a kayak. Thank you for checking out my other videos too! You’ve made it to nearly all of them 🙂
@ What can I say it’s good stuff. And I’ve tried many times to get one on a mini jig.
When someone is crushin it like you do with the jigs, you gotta be doin something right.
I feel like I have a better chance after watching and picking up new tips. 👍🏻
I go up there every chance I get. I typically use only single hooks. That way I feel they have more of a chance to be released. I have been trying to really let them go if I can. Looks like fun
Oh for sure, single hooks make for an easier CNR
Great catch
Thanks!
nice video by the way 🤙 alot of new changes.
@@Crappie_Day thank you!(:
Really like your videos! And really like that you keep them and don't release haha. Trout are tasty and should be eaten :)
Do you use a stringer? And do you need to bonk/k*ll them before putting them on the stringer? I'm asking because someone told me they can break away from the stringer lol!
I'm glad you're enjoying my videos(: I use a stringer. I do not and have not seen others do that either but you can always bleed the fish.
When did you take this video? I plan on going however hopefully on a non winday day.
@@user-kn2kv2pd3i sat. Winds are looking good for the weekend
What camera were used to film and record your videos? Any mics?
GoPro, no mics.
My kids and i only use a single hook... we do it for the challenge...🎣
Was it swivel to weight or did you have a bead between the weight and swivle
Editing my answer, it was a swivel to weight.
What I can't figure out is how you have so much elbow room, where is everyone?
they're all in the popular hot spots
@@itskimmayy12Gregory is so small I didn’t know there was anywhere NOT crowded. Smart fisherman, hit and move, hit and move. Tight lines, we’ll see you guys out there.
BFS rules‼️
💯
Good stuff yall🤙🏼
You're the only one that doesn't know about that lake
better late than never (:
@@itskimmayy12Nope! I’m the only one lol. Just learned of it recently.
So gorgeous 😍
God. Now we got women fishing. Great.
