- Jacob & Stasia Larison - We Boondock at Fortuna Pond BLM north of Yuma, AZ. This is an awesome oasis in the middle of the desert with many campers lining the outside of the stocked fishing pond. Fortuna Pond offers beautiful views and amazing sunsets! There is a 14 day limit on camping here. Definitely put this BLM spot on your list of future campsites!

If you guys do a lot more fishing, I will subscribe and watch, there are no RV channels that fish, my wife and I only go to places where we can fish, we live in Las Vegas Nevada so we have to drive pretty far to find a RV campground that has a pond or a lake,
I don’t know if you know this or not, but in Lake Havasu city Arizona, in the month of June you can catch bluegills that are up to 2 pounds

Oh one more thing, traveling full time and getting fishing licenses across the country, those licenses and fees really add up haha. We’re selective on when to buy a fishing license for that reason. Maybe we can rendezvous in Lake Havasu this fall/winter and do some fishing.
Have you see or heard the crop dusting planes out at night?
Yes and it was incredible! The pilot flew right over us at night, such an amazing experience. Have you been there when they flew at night?
@@larisonlifestyle We have stayed in or around Yuma for at least part of the winter for the last 14 years. We havent stayed at Fortuna Pond because it is usually crowded when we get there in December or January. We have stayed at the BLM land by the VFW just north of Yuma on 95. It is a 14 day area. The last couple of winters we have rented a privately owned lot in the Foothills.
You should definitely try and get into Fortuna Pond! Lots of people but worth it. Although I feel like the BLM near the VFW was much more crowded ha! Hopefully we’ll see you around Yuma this winter!
@@larisonlifestyle Yes, the BLM can be crowded, and noisy with the planes, trains and automobiles close by, but I am a member of the VFW so that is a positive. :) Are plans for the winter are not set in stone yet, but perhaps we will be around Yuma the same time you are. Enjoy!
I have returned to this place 2 years in a row I heard it’s been closed very recently to overnight camping and is day use only 😢

It is extremely crowded during the winter months December-February and people don’t always take care of the land. My best assumption. So sad
Yea true, plus when we camped there it looked like people had moved there full time and definitely over stayed their welcome unfortunately.
