- The Metropolitan Police Commissioner has defended how officers handled a campaigner against antisemitism at a pro-Palestinian demonstration, describing their actions as “professional.”
Sir Mark Rowley admitted some of the words exchanged during the incident on April 13 were “clumsy and offensive”, but confirmed the officers involved would not be sanctioned.
Former Met detective Peter Bleksley joins TalkTV’s Peter Cardwell to discuss this further.

I heard a snippet about it today, but the police behaviour in fabricating evidence extraordinary. Particularly as the whole incident was not only widely witnessed, but all on video camera with v clear audio.

I think the term "not fit for purpose " springs to mind.
This happens a lot near football grounds where pedestrians, whether football fans or not, get diverted down different routes. And I've seen people confront the police in these situations and as a result get forcibly removed.

Why had the police blocked that road, there were people still walking to the main group to join up. The police got in the middle and started shoving. The group, the police shoved, had been told to walk up there, by police at the other end. It was a set up.
