It's kind of a well known secret since she lists it on her IG and art website. Also since you liked Duvet Box's animatics, once you're all caught up, Mortius and Casper did an interview with Duvet Box that's really kinda fun.
In Thunder Bringer, that Penelope Odysseus saw was an illusion to push Odysseus toward the choice Zeus wanted him to make that's why she's yellow. In short what you wrote about Zeus in the description is a massive understatement.
@@makaramuss Should have eaten Zeus and Poseidon only. Hestia, Hades, Demeter would have been fine on their own. Hera would be much happier and would have become a much kinder goddess without Zeus.
Im so happy you watched both duvetbox and neils Thunder Bringer! Duvetbox is more accurate, canon, which makes it a better choice for a first watcher. But Neils is my favorite depiction of zeus ever, he feels exactly how i imagine zeus: smug, attractive but gross at the same time. The penelope cloud part...
I think if it was Eury getting Zeus' choice instead, he definitely would have chosen himself to die and to spare the crew. Ody is the leader, the tactician and strategist, but Eury is the men's man - the one with the trust of the crew and who cares for the crew, which is why the crew's chorus is literally his backing instrument (the way the guitar is Ody's backing instrument). If Ody is the bad cop - making the hard decisions and the one who might get the crew's spite - then Eury is the good cop, the one who generally supports the leader's decisions but helps settle the men down by being 'one of them'. That's why, when Eury doesn't trust Ody's actions and openly questions him (ala Luck Runs Out, Mutiny) the crew takes Eury's side. But also, I do think Eury frankly cares for the crew more than Odysseus does. Not to say Ody doesn't (he's pragmatic but not a sociopath, he has care and affection for them), but Ody chooses himself and his own goals over their lives time and again.
depends... if Eury experienced what ody experienced I am sure nothing would changed. but if odysseus was still binded to statue so zeus referred to Eury as their "current captain" then ye Eury would be like "holy shit I fucked up at an unbeliveable level" :D
For the Wisdom Saga: Duvetbox for Legendary Duvetbox for Little Wolf Gigi for We’ll Be Fine Duvetbox for Love In Paradise Either Anniflamma or Neal Illustrator for God Games (I hope you do both though! They are both so good!!)
Mutiny: Okay so like… both our boys messed up. I’m more mad at Eury because of the whole bag thing, but… Ody did just sacrifice six more of their guys without them even truly knowing what they were stepping into. Like I can’t blame Eury for being upset with that but… we’re also in this mess because of him? But it’s not like he knew opening the bag would lead to most of the crew biting the dust. Again it’s all really messy and both have a side but… oh boy. And as for the situation with the cows, people do not make rational decisions when they’re starving and/or when they’ve lost all hope of making it out alive. For Eury it was either die of starvation or take a chance on whatever would happen when they tried to eat the cow. Either way, well, they’re dead. And the callback to Luck Runs Out?! Ugh… just let me die, man, it’s so good. Thunder Bringer: And finally Ody is all alone. I can’t blame him, his crew literally just stabbed him in the back and all he wants to do is go home to his wife and kid but… man that does not make this any easier to watch. Also, the framing of Zeus in most of the shots are so good in Neal’s animatic (not to diss Duvet they are also incredible). The way he just looms over Ody, constantly with that shit-eating grin on his face. He’s just toying with them, and really causing pain by giving Ody the choice of who dies. This is all just a game to him. And it’s the same conversation from the Horse and the Infant, the very first song. Zeus is giving Ody the choice of whose blood is on his hands, and Ody begging him to not make him choose. And of course Ody chooses to make the sacrifice for his wife once again. Ugh it’s all so good!
My question to Eury is what good does opening the bag do? It’s either you’re guilty of insubordination (to your king no less) or you’ve released the storm. There is no good ending to opening the bag
@@dragonstouch1042 My understanding is that he didn't believe Ody when he said the storm was in the bag. None of the crew did. They thought it was treasure. They thought Ody was lying to them. Which with the combination of everything in Luck Runs Out, the Cyclops Saga, and Ody refusing to trust any of his crew with the bag, it all combined into a horrible cocktail of distrust and a need for closure.

Rant ahead, be warned: Eurylochus is Odysseus’ second in command yet time and again, Odysseus refuses to acknowledge his concerns from ‘full speed ahead’ all the way into ‘Puppeteer’. Odysseus demands blind faith from his men, so confident in his own wit without even considering what he is expecting from his own soldiers. 600 men want to get home, 600 families are awaiting their return from Troy. They have all missed a decade with their loved ones but unfortunately most of them cannot be certain that they will have a home to return too. A decade is a long time and the situation in Ithaca is largely unknown but unlike the king, most men will not have had the wealth to support their family over those years. For all the suffering the crew went through they sure don’t have a lot to show for it, yet their king and captain, the man they have followed for ten years can’t even be bothered to take on board their concerns. Scylla was the last straw. The crew were done suffering for Odysseus. His actions with Scylla were premeditated, he knew he was going to kill six men, all to protect his own skin. He kept this information from everyone and wouldn’t have admitted his actions if Eurylochus hadn’t called him out on it. He didn’t leave it up to chance, he got Eurylochus to unknowingly mark six men as the sacrifices for Scylla. Odysseus seemed genuinely surprised by the crew siding against him, showing just how disconnected he was from them. Who would they side with, the man who just admitted to planning the deaths of six men and who was about to murder a seventh or the man who called out the captain for his crime and stood against him for the crew. Who in their right mind would side with the man who admitted to throwing others lives away for his own benefit? How could Odysseus ever explain why only he returned from Troy? No treasure, no spoils of war, not even a proper ship or the equipment that he took when he went off to war. All those lives lost for nothing.
