"At the start of a workout Galaxy watch active 2 gives me 10-15 beats more than apple watch". It may also be that the Apple watch is giving you 10-15 beats less than Galaxy watch. How do you consider Apple watch BPM reading as the gold standard?
She wasn't doing much at the start, so the heart rate is lower. When she started exercising her heart rate went up, and so did the Apple reading. Since the galaxy reading was already high, it just stayed where it already was. Thus it didn't reflect the rise in heart rate like the Apple reading did. The Apple heart rate monitor is clearly more accurate.
@@JM-fp3gf Hey you have a point ! But where did you find evidence of "it just stayed where it already was" in the video? It shows in the beginning GWA2 was around 85BPM while AW5 was around 79BPM. How do you know that her BPM while resting is around 79 and not 85? And to think of..while filming for a video, her BPM is as low as 79? I somehow get the feeling that Lexy and Vanessa always prefer Apple products at the end of any comparison without any apparent reason whatsoever. Something like "Cause it looks cool !" I have an AW though :-D
@@planetroni lmfao exactly, for a tech review to be this obviously bias isn't good. And who's to say she doesn't have a moderately higher heart rate? She may like the apple recording simply because in most cases "less is better" in terms of heart health
Yea you are right.. BMP changes from left hand to right hand ..most dominant hand gives proper BPM reading .. galaxy could be the right one giving proper reading than apple..you just can't di-fame galaxy watch dafaq..know your stuff!!
@@JM-fp3gf not true, galaxy watch also raises. It is very common that people now have a higher than standard heart rate due to modern life style.
Excellent review of both watches. It was simple straightforward and very concise appreciate all the hard work and research on your end.
When you review these things, please compare the heart rate monitor to a chest strap monitor. That's the only way you know what is accurate.

I was at the hospital a while back and they were keeping track of my heart rate while exercising. I was fairly impressed with how accurate my Galaxy Watch was reporting it. I think my watch tended to be slightly higher than and either fluctuated less or fluctuated more than the hospital's machine, but it stayed pretty close all throughout.
@@johnbamber7374 I have the exact same results with my Honor Band 4... reads consistently about 3 to 5 bpm higher but it's otherwise very accurate. Or more that it's very consistent, so the baseline/curve is something you can depend on much more than the actual exact #.

You could always just check your pulse yourself by lightly putting two fingers over your carotid artery on your neck and count each beat for 30 seconds and multiply that by 2 or count it for 10 seconds and multiply it by 6

Don't get water damage, used my watch for 2 weeks, it stopped charging, sent it in for repairs, they said the warranty was voided due to water damage. I only used my watch to run and track steps. The cost to repair it is almost the cost of a brand new watch.

There are 3rd party apps for Alexa that seem to have good reviews on the Galaxy app store
I absolutely love my Samsung Frontier. Over 3 years old and wear it everyday. I use it to monitor workouts and hiking. I sleep like a baby so don't wear the watch at night to monitor sleep patterns but on times I have taken a nap or fallen asleep while wearing it the data it measures is fun to look at. I use the timer app on it all the time for cooking or laundry. Probably the best feature is when getting a call you can just look down at the watch and hit ignore without having to take out phone. I have an app where I can use the watch as my cameras phone remote. I have done some nice family shots where instead of using a timer I used my watch to take a bunch of photos capturing perfect brief moments. Sure occasionally the watch will 'hang' or pause but in a few seconds it straightens itself out seems looking for location can pause the screen briefly. Whichever you like enjoy it and learn how to use it they are fun!
They need to make another version of the Galaxy Watch called the Galaxy Frontier. With all the great battery life and durability of the old one but with a more modern look and color

I have an Apple Watch series 5, use the new California watch face and overall love and use this watch way way more over my series 3 which was a waste for me. For better activity information for this watch I May look into third party apps on the App Store that may do a better job showing this. 😎

Not sure which Apple Watch to go for. All I need it for is alert on calls/ text /notifications As I’m hard of hearing thought Apple Watch would be good because then I can have it on vibrate mode. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
As a user of 2018 galaxy gear sport - i can say the gps accuracy in tracking distance is horrible with difference of plus minus 400-600metres compare to the actual distance, cant be use to detect actual swimming laps either, 😔

How do the LTE services compare when indoors vs outdoors?
Until the day comes where I only have to charge my watch once a week, I'll stick with my Fitbit
set the galaxy watch to power saving mode, it lasts to a month
it only lasts a short time if you have it always on and using it constantly, if you just track steps and have time and notifications it can last up to a month
Fitbit is a scam. They rolled out updates for charge 2 and 3 to ruin these devices. 😢
I have had a Garmin Vivomove HR for over 2 years now, and I only have to charge it like every 5 days. While it's checking heartrate etc very very accurately 24/7. It's an amazing hybrid watch!

the only true way to test the heart rate accuracy is use a known accurate heart rate monitor as the control. I think tech bloggers just like to assume Apple's is the accurate one to use as a measuring stick with nothing to back that up.

Its been there, done that. Apple watches are incredibly accurate, and a good web search to corroborate that claim is all you need. Meanwhile, god knows how good any of the Android watches are.

Hi gyus, can the BPM not depend on the side, left or right? Just to make another test with the watches switched between each other.
I know she mentioned the Spotify music storage feature but I feel she kind of glossed over this point. Currently, only the Galaxy Watch Active 2 supports Spotify in offline mode where you can store music/podcasts and solely use it. Apple Watch only does this with Apple Music. This is important for us runners who don't want to take our phones with us - if you use Spotify, you're going to want the Galaxy Watch Active 2.
I chose the Samsung lte 44mm been great so far...and it looks more like a watch instead of a computer on your arm not to mention the almost unlimited watchfaces...

Both watches are great. I think that if you have an iphone you should buy an Apple Watch. And if you have an Samsung phone you should buy an Samsung Watch Active. I use S10+, so my choice was obviously Watch Active.

Help! I can get this watch, the ear buds+ and the UV sanitizer all for under $200. It’s like $170-$180 total. Do you think it’s worth it? Also I would be using it with an iPhone XR so I’m not sure if it’ll be the same with features/apps? Should I take advantage of this deal since the headphones alone cost $150 yet they’d be free as well as the UV box, or should I save the money and buy an Apple Watch that will work better with my phone, although it’s much more expensive.
