    I have a pair of a Asolo mountaineering boots. I wore them on one winter hike and they were absolutely fantastic. They are made out of plastic. That hike took place approximately 38 years ago. I live in the city and I would never wear them in the city because I wanted to preserve them for what they were made for; hiking out in the mountains, winter camping, and so on. I'm going to use this glue on the skirt on the side of the boot which has opened I guess due to age. The boots have been sitting in my closet for 38 years. The vibrant soul seems to be in perfect shape. I'll let everyone know how it goes.
    Here's a continuatoon:
    Well I applied the glue to the boot as I mentioned in my comment. They seem to be in perfect shape. I didn't have time or the weather to actually test them out in. Being in the city are winter storms are at a minimal. And I have not had the time to travel to the mountains and test them out there. But they seem as if their brand new regarding on how the skirt sticks onto the side of the boot. Oh by the way the boots are actually 32 years old. I found the old receipt in the bottom of the original box the boots came in.

    I just wanted to let you know how much help you have been in helping me be successfull in operating my sewing machine. When it arrive I set it up but it would not operate correctly. It kept breaking the string. I watched all the videos I could find, nothing worked. I finally watched your video on reassemble. The cams were not aligned correctly. After aligning them and properly set up the tension I had success. Just side notes during this ordeal I broke the spring in the bobbin assemble. I successfully made another one and it seems to be working. I am considering ordering another one. The place you suggested is in my home state. I live in Horseshoe Bend, Idaho.

    Those are $15 bucks plus shipping on Amazon, I see tons of video on shoe goo which is 1/3 of the price but I only want to fix my combat boots once so I need something that can hold up under distress

    In the late 90's I was over the building of the tooling for the rubber window door mustache trim on the 4 door Dodge truck that Cooper tire made. Well one set , the ones that don't have a dent in the rear at the back of each window. They used this same stuff that came in the same bottles., With a different label of course. It has a short shelf life once opened , and maybe a year unopened. It is some awesome stuff though. The ladies would blow on it to speed up the cure for faster production , and it was common for them to get rubber molding glued to their lips.

    What do you recommend as a long term fix because I have a pair of vintage boots that I love and the sole just recently came off on the whole front except the heel and I want something that will hold up for a while

    I have a pair of Danner 6" Acadias I wear almost daily for work. I'm on my second Vibram resole and like the first resole, it's begun to separate from the midsole at the toe long before the sole itself has significant wear. I don't want to doubt my cobbler, but I've just used this to reattach the sole at the toe before I take it back to the shop. I'll update as it holds up...

    hi Phil from the UK love the videos, in one of your last interesting videos you said your were going to try out a T210 sewing thread well i have been experimenting and found out its a no no the good old Chinese hand machine won't cope with it the thickest thread i have been able to use was a T135 like you use can you get a bigger needle than a 22 for T210 thread size if so i would love to get some to try out with the T210 thread

    • @MainelyAcresFarmBrooks

      The largest needle size I have seen on the HAx1 is the 22, but you can go bigger if you modify the needle bar.

    We just purchased the Chinese hand crank sewing machine. I have looked at your videos...over and over again...and we still cannot get the needle thread to pick up the bobbin thread. All the parts are turning and appearing to be operating correctly, but the thread just will not pick up the bobbin thread.
    Please help

    Hi, I’m having a problem with my sewing machine. It’s the same model as the one you have and I can’t seem to fix the issue. Every few stitches there will be a loop on the surface on my material and I’m unsure how to sort this. If I increase the tension much on the top end my thread begins to fray causing it to break. I’m very new to this so I’m sure the problem is lack of knowledge however would really appreciate any advice to try and stop it

    • @MainelyAcresFarmBrooks
      @MainelyAcresFarmBrooks  4 роки тому

      Your on the correct track in fixing this issue!! You have loops pulling through the top of your project and you adjusted the upper tension. That's correct, but sometimes you need to loosen the bobbin tension as well. What size thread are you using and what set of hole on the bobbin carrier are you using?

      Could be the stitch adjustment screw, try adjusting it up or down to see if that fixes the issue.
