I admire both of you! *IF* me & my husband didn’t have a lot of chronic illnesses/health issues we would love to do something like this. As we already live 30min from town on 98 acres bordered on 2.5 sides by National Forest land in Mississippi. What we would truly love is to build an off grid log cabin in the more northern part of the Smokey Mountains to live in half the year as I have severe heat intolerance. We currently live less than 70 miles inland from the Gulf coast so *IF* we are lucky we get roughly 2-3 months a year where it doesn’t get above 75. But the majority of that time below 75 it’s either storming or extremely wet. And due to my chronic joint issues & chronic migraines storms result in me being unable to leave the bed/couch. So somewhere with a real fall & winter but that doesn’t often get the extreme negative temps of further north would be wonderful. So….maybe one day. In the meantime I enjoy watching people like y’all do the things I wish I could. Which is wonderful. Don’t take a second of living your dreams for granted!
Hey wanderers! Only just found you both today on your shorts. So onto your Site and subscribed straightaway. You guys rearly impressed me - you are so hard working and have achieved so much. So now I have a lot of binge watching to do lol. A couple of things people have commented on, made me think a bit. Your shedhouse is not on foundations? What about grey water pipes from the sink etc ( with time, when you have one lol). You could fix it that it all drips through a stone system, leading into your garden, which is going to be fantastic, it already is 👍🏻. You are both so capable, you can be proud of yourselves. You are living your dreams and its amazing! I thought about your bed situation. You need as much storage around as possible. A nice place to hang everything will never be regretted. A bunk is practical. You have both been best friends for so long, have done so much together, a bunk wouldnt be the worse thing that could happen! At some stage in the future, you could always build another bedroom onto your home. I think that sharing a room is great for your friendship though and love how you both joke to each other on how to properly hang clothes etc, it makes you so sympathish 😄. You have so many possibilities and so much time. Rome wasn't built in a day either! Your thoughts on a smaller counter top oven is a great idea, looks good too. Keep up your priority list and take time to enjoy life along the way! Blessed be 🙏💕 I love your chickens, cats and dogs - they are all gorgeous.

Thank you! Well, all of the cats were outside kitties. They were born outside and have always lived outside, and they were all rescues. The cats hate the dogs and the dogs hate the cats. They could never live in the same space.

I particularly appreciate that you ensure they are locked up at night. I've always done the same, wether it was our barn or house cats, chickens or goats; everyone safe in their quarters at night. 🙂
