When I was a kid my dad used to take the family to the arcade located in a mall and he would play on the Pac-Man/Galaga combo cabinet for hours. Good times.
Many years ago(80s) I loved Galaga when it came out. I'm not sure how many years later I was in a store where there was a Galaga that was different. I can't remember it much but after a certain amount of levels you have to destroy planets. I'm trying to figure out the name of it. I only saw it that 1 time and unfortunately I was in another state. Geez I loved those old games. I used to have super Nintendo or Playstation and cartridges that had the old games but we were robbed and I lost all of our games sets. We had wii,Playstation, super Nintendo and my much loved 3do. I had tons of games and accessories. My child moved out and maybe a year later we were robbed. So we didn't replace anything but we also couldn't afford to replace any of it. Oh we also had commodore 64 with tons of games. All gone. Miss those things and I'm almost 60. Lol
the unofficial arcade sequel to Gaplus (in spirit, although an entirely different company) was Gyruss, think Galaga meets Tempest with an even more awesome sound track.
I don't think you're going to believe this, but I actually rather like Galaxian more than Galaga. Look, I know, that most people despise Galaxian, but I like it more than Galaga anyway.

Thanks for sharing, wish I could help you out with the name of that game. Sounds interesting
@themontgomeryc it might be Gaplus or Galaga 3. It was a lot of fun. I was on it forever. Seemed easier than Galaga.

These games are pure skill

I can see this because Galaxian you have to be more accurate. You only get one bullet on the screen. So you have to time your shots better.
@@sjn456 Well guess what? I changed my mind. I actually rather like Galaga more than Galaxian.
@@sjn456I love Galaxian. Just pure sniper skills, no tricks pure skill.
Galaga is fun. Galaxian isn’t.
I agree I like the double ship Galaga had
I liked Galaxian much better than space inavders. It was faster and the GFX was much better. :)
