A BIG HUG to you Victoria!! such an beautiful Person in this beautiful location what else..EPIC the drone story..tells us that we are most the intruders...hope u get it all sorted with the drone.
Thank you so much! And I know, I am still shocked to this day! But you know, it makes a wonderful story and I always love the random things that happen in life, so i’ll accept it this time 🙂✌🏻
Incredible production Victoria, a real pleasure to watch, you have a great natural talent of this type of videography, brilliant location too - I hope DJI cover the theft.
What an impressive video in front of this majestic backdrop. Enjoyed it very much. A happy new year and hopefully many more great contributions from you from Mother Nature! Greetings from Switzerland. 🇨🇭
Happy new year! And thank you for your kind words. You live in one of the most beautiful countries ever, it’s such a wonderful place. I do have another Switzerland vlog coming up which shows some lovely sunsets over the Matterhorn as well 🙂🏔️🫶🏻
Awww shucks thank you for this ☺️ a lot of time and heart goes into making my videos, so thank you. And I know, I am back in Scotland and it’s been raining/snowing but hopefully soon it will brighten up, fingers crossed for you! 🙂⭐️
Ahhh, the drone did so well for you before the Avian Theft drama! These Swiss Alps are breathtaking so it's nice you keep going back there to share its beauty (also with new equipment). And keep those outtakes coming too. 😁😁
Thank you so much and it’s hard to go wrong in such a beautiful landscape but the drone did great! It is a shame but hopefully get a replacement soon. I am glad you enjoy the outtakes and I will keep them in 😄🙂
What a beautiful video! I can't imagine a bird stealing my drone. That is kind of funny. I understand that. I absolutely love where you're at it's beautiful country ,you make me jealous with all the traveling you get to do and the places you get to see. we have beautiful country here but I don't get to travel as much. I also am very careful where I fly as well I do not like to fly around other people either. Either way this video was a kick in the pants to watch I loved your outtakes you're funny and you're cute and it's awesome. I appreciate what you do here this is absolutely a great job. Thank you
Absolutely stunning and a little envious I do wish we'd had a drone whilst we spent 2 months in the Pyrenees a couple of years ago. To think I only started to watch your channel because you were a novice using a drone however I'm hooked on what you capture beautiful.
Amazing drone footage. I’m loving watching this cinematic content. I may be wrong but I believe your RC logs all your flights, and I bet if you explained the situation with the eagle, DJI could access that flight and may even be able to roughly locate your drone using the logged gps data. Just a thought. I’ve just bought the Mini 4K and learning to fly it, which is very different from flying the radio control gliders I’m used to, which are hugely bigger and different to fly. But I want the drone for my future camper van travels. Keep up the good work.
I knew this was going to be worth the wait ;-) What a place... hopefully I can make it there some day to witness. I agree the CPL filter worked really well with the snowy mountains. Wasn't prepared for an avian theft... surely if it's found you'll get it back as a gift back from nature!
Aw thanks for the patients and this vlog but also the next one are definitely worth the wait. I hope you get to go one day as it’s a lovely place. Glad you agree too about the CPL filter, it just really helps to cut that harsh light. Hehehe there is always a hidden surprise in my vlogs 😅 maybe I will get it back one day, it might make an interesting story 🙂
Oh no! Glad you have the DJI care refresh, although a shame its going to cost you a couple of hundred! You are being very philosophical about it though, my drone arrived Friday, I'd be gutted if that happened after a month, particularly when on a trip like that!
Thank you and yes, it’s lucky to have the care plan but not so lucky it costing a few hundred. I guess my mindset is, it is what it is, I can’t change the situation and it’s kind of a funny story. So no point letting it ruin the whole trip, I got some lovely footage with it and maybe it just wasn’t meant to be for the rest of the trip. Enjoy your drone and i’m sure it won’t happen, it is a very rare occurrence 🙂
Excellent footage of Zermatt. We ski there most years and your drone shots add a new dimension to viewing the spectacular landscape. Sorry to hear that your drone has been 'eagled!"
I love watching your videos, you are such a genuine person, your bubbly personality really shine through your creative endeavors, Keep it going girl you're awesome !!
The footage looked good, and looks like you had a blast up there. As I've said before, it's so nice to see your adventures and journey. Sorry that the eagle stole your drone, let's hope you got it covered by the insurance. 🙂 Then keep up the good work, and I hope that 2025 is treating you well so far. 🙂 ♥
Thank you so much for this, I appreciate it a lot and yes it was incredible. I could go up there everyday! And you know, the whole situation made me smile so I don’t mind. Happy new year! 🙂
Hello Victoria, Awesome footage...LOVE your enthusiasm !!! I fly the same drone in Ontario, Canada with lots of eagles around. I started putting red reflecting tape on my drone after seeing others post that suggestion...been lucky so far. Great story to tell though. Fly on girl !!!
Wow, the theft is staggering, guess he didn’t like you invading his space, hope he didn’t try to eat it! Thanks for another great video. Happy New Year. Terryx
Thank you! It sure was! The bird literally came out of nowhere otherwise I wouldn’t have flown it. I don’t blame it either, it’s confusing for it so I understand. They are masters of the sky
Thank you so much!! And no worries, it was actually a funny experience and yes I’ll get a replacement soon. It’s nice sometimes to have random stories to share 🙂♥️
As experiences go you’ve had the full house. Thankfully you got some fantastic footage before the artful dodger arrived on the scene. Anyway I hope that at sometime in the coming months someone finds and returns your drone to you, and finally let me wish you a very Happy Healthy New Year.
Yes I definitely experienced a mixed bag now 😅 If no one returns the drone I will go on a search and rescue mission to find it - might be fun! Happy new year 🙂
Subscribed ,Amazing work Victoria, you’re living my dream,I’ve only just found your channel so I’m going to binge watch your videos to get some inspiration,I’ve got the mini 3 pro,DJI action 5 pro and in the process of buying a canon r6 mark ii,I travel the uk in my car and tentbox camping but recently just getting in to photography, fingers crossed you get your drone replaced by the warranty, keep up the good work Victoria
Hi Victoria, loving your channel, "quick tip for you "wear thermal smart phone gloves when flying your drone, your fingers looked a little cold ,also be aware of icing on the propellers ,it can affect the drones stability when flying. Great footage ❤
Thanks for the info! I actually don’t like wearing gloves and never wear them - the main reason is, I get very distracted and have poor memory, so I always lose something when I wear gloves. Also I cannot feel all my equipment when I am wearing gloves - I was filming with my camera as well. Thank you for your care and tips, it is appreciated 🙂🙏🏻
Hey Victoria, sorry to hear about your drone. Was really enjoying seeing the vlogs of you getting used to the Mini 4 Pro. I have one too. A tip to deter birds is to stick red reflector tape strips on the body of the drone. I did so with mine and so far no large birds have attacked it even after I've spotted them circling near it. It's been an effective bird deterrent method used by many in the drone community and so far has worked more than it hasn't. When you put the strips on, do it one at a time and weigh the drone with each application. That way can keep an eye that doesn't push the gross weight over the 250g threshold.
Another winner on your books.🎉 I'm glad that from the begining you choose to adapt the view to prefer not to fly over people. I have no desire at all to do that. Beautiful and interesting landscapes and sunsets area also would be prefered from me. Sorry about your Drone being mistaken by an eagle to be dinner. You will be fine. I use DJI care in the past and I think is a most to have. Is not useful to get upset, things happen and all you can do is get yourself a replacement with a new name. lol Good job with the footage👍
Hi Victoria! If a bird is scoping your drone (your new one) 😅, go straight Up 👆 for 4-5 seconds, then straight forward 👉 til you're way far away ❤. Beautiful vlog and footage.
Thanks appreciate it! And I appreciate the tip as well, a few folk have said that but this all happened in literally a few seconds, there was no time for anything and I think after the first strike the eagle had damaged the drone as it wasn’t responding 🙂✌🏻
I wonder if the Find My Drone location feature on the Controller/your DJI account would show a spot that’s accessible at all by hiking/climbing. Drone rescue videos can be just as exciting! Keep up the good work. 😊
I do have a “last known” location of when any sort of signal was transmitted to the drone but it is inaccessible this time of year as it was in winter. So I will go back in the summer for a rescue mission of my little Wallace and hopefully can find it! If I do I will post the video, and thank you very much 🙂🙂
Amazing & breathtaking photos and videos 👍🏻 Great drone piloting, the Eagle was obviously jealous 😁 Shame you was not screen recording on your RC during the theft. I hope DJI replace your 4 Pro all good 😊 or ask for the DJI Flip (rumoured for release soon) 😂 Thanks, keep up the great vlogs 🙏🏻
Thank you so much and maybe you are right about the eagle 😅 in the summer I might go on a search and rescue mission to find it - might be fun and I might see what footage is on it 🙂
@wildandfreevictoria that's going to be a great vlog to see 🤞🏻wishing you the best of luck with search & rescue of Wallace 🍀 I hope DJI has now supplied you with Wallace II or Gromit I ✌🏻
Great shots Victoria 👏 I fly drones since over 10 years 😂 starting with the phantom 1 without monitoring 🙈 the Mini 4 pro is small and has definitely a good quality
Wow, sorry to hear that about your drone! Videos and photos that you did get looked amazing! There are so many restrictions on drones that I'm not too sure that I want one anymore! Were you shooting the drones photos in raw or jpeg???👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😱
Enjoyed the pictures and video footage as always. Can't believe you lost your drone when you were really getting into using it. Real shame. All the best for 2025.
Wow , what a video . Isn’t there a giveaway of dji drones . I usually trek in beautiful mountains . Hard to get great views with phones. I wish I could have a drone
Haha thank you and yes I know how to pronounce it, I just kept forgetting the name as it is similar to a place I visited in Tanzania. Also the glacier is called Gorner Glacier not Gornergrat ✌🏻
I appreciate it a lot! Thank you! And you know what, it was worth it to share a funny story that I will remember for life! And i’ll get a replacement soon 🙂🫶🏻
Yup, if you go on the EASA (European aviation) it will take you to the Swiss link where you have to register with them but also you can check their domestic flight maps
Hey Victoria. Simply fantastic video of the Matterhorn and surrounding area ❤ I only recently discovered your channel and I'm addicted now! I too have just got into drones and videography is something I want to explore in 2025 alongside my regular photography. You said in the video "I'm allowed" to fly here. I'm curious, did you have to get permission to fly up the Gornergrat or do you just rely on the DJI device to inform you that it is a fly-safe area (you said you choose to move away from others whilst flying it which I applaud)? Also, for submitting videos to UA-cam, do you need to have a commercial drone licence? And in terms of the CAA Operator ID and Flyer ID, do you have these and do they cover you outside the UK? Sorry to bombard you with so many questions on this channel, I didn't know how else to ask you?
Hello and thank you so much! That is really kind that you have been enjoying it! I will go through your questions, so I checked the Switzerland flight maps which are available online and showed it was ok to fly there, I always check this along side the DJI Maps and Apps available as sometimes they can differ. Thank you for that and I like to give people their privacy, it’s the same approach I take with my photography as well. No I don’t need a commercial licence for putting my videos on UA-cam, it isn’t my job just a hobby. If you read the description of the video it explains about the Operator ID but yes I have this with the CAA but you also need to register yourself and O-ID when you fly abroad as well for the individual countries, so I registered for France and Switzerland separately through the EASA website. I hope that helps 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria thanks for the comprehensive reply. I apologise, I didn't expand the Description on this video which would have answered some of my questions. I just watched the video and immediately asked the questions without thinking. I went up the Gornergrat many moons ago - it was so nice to see the same views all these years later.
have the M4P, and in some winds does the same in normal mode, if switch to sport it wont do that Hope dji care sent you another drone (it is covered as a fly away drone).
Ah okie that is very interesting! I don’t know why it does it but it didn’t do it during filming which is odd, just when I flew it back to me. Who knows! 😅 And yes it does class as a “flyaway” but i’ll have to pay a fee for replacement, I think it was around £220
Hello Victoria, I really like your content. I am Mexican and next month I will travel to Switzerland, and I have precisely had a question about whether you can fly a drone in Switzerland. I would also take a mini 4 pro. It is totally allowed to fly a drone in Switzerland, right? thank you for your support your response
That peak is just like movie opening from Paramount pictures :D Sorry for Wallace , looks like eagles like flying frogs. I saw a video that reccomends to use reflective tape on top of the drone against birds, not sure if it works.
Wow that is so messed up. I’ve heard of bird strikes but not just taking it out of the sky. Sorry to hear. Some amazing footage of the mountains though.
Thank you so much! And no worries, it was a moment I will laugh over for the rest of my life and I should be getting a replacement soon. So all is ok 🙂
Thank you so much! And happy new year! You are very kind 🙂 I do know the Chocolate, was it that the Matterhorn used to be on the packaging but I am not too sure if it is anymore? 🙂
Superb footage, in the event of birds always put the drone into sport mode and go directly up if possible, birds cannot go straight up without circling to gain height. Birds will attack drones unfortunately.
Thank you so much! And that is some great advice I will try to remember it for next time. Unfortunately it all happened so quickly that I didn’t even have time to think, I also think the drone got damaged after the first strike because it seemed very very slow. I don’t blame the bird either, understandable it thought it was prey, especially the mini being so small, such is life ey! But I will remember this tip and thank you 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria I'm sorry to hear that a huge bird stole your drone. But what a story, to be told. Addmittedly the sea gulls round my neck of the woods are considerably smaller, but non the less persistant in wanting to kill my drone. I have discovered a way to keep most of them at bay and it involves putting reflective tape onto my drone, and still keep it below 250gms. It is PETGDS Reflective Tape similar to the stuff used on our ambulances. Just a thought for your next little airborn warrior.
Sorry to hear about your "aviation theft". Bizarre and I think, most unusual. Perhaps such events are reported less often. Fingers crossed, and hope it will be replaced for you soon
I have the weird ability in life that if a random or abnormal moment is going to happen, it will always happen to me 😅 it was very bizarre and unbelievable to be honest but I just laugh it off as that’s all you can do. Yes it is covered under my DJI care plan 🙂
Sorry for the loss of your drone. Furthermore, we don’t need this source of pollution in the mountains. The best maneuver to escape threatening birds is to go up as fast as possible though it’s a bit counterintuitive.
Ok, well when you are in that situation and you have a micro second to think and up against an eagle, you come back to me. Nothing I could have done would have evaded an eagle but thanks for your input ✌🏻
Of course, easier said than done. I learned it from an instructor. Most of the birds when they target a prey they attack from above. You also have the situation when some birds ( I don’t remember the species ) see a drone hovering and they mistake it for a fellow bird at loss. They will get closer to help.

I do have a “last known” location of when any sort of signal was transmitted to the drone but it is inaccessible this time of year as it was in winter. So I will go back in the summer for a rescue mission of my little Wallace and hopefully can find it! If I do I will post the video, and thank you very much 🙂🙂
Amazing & breathtaking photos and videos 👍🏻
Great drone piloting, the Eagle was obviously jealous 😁 Shame you was not screen recording on your RC during the theft. I hope DJI replace your 4 Pro all good 😊 or ask for the DJI Flip (rumoured for release soon) 😂
Thanks, keep up the great vlogs 🙏🏻
Thank you so much and maybe you are right about the eagle 😅 in the summer I might go on a search and rescue mission to find it - might be fun and I might see what footage is on it 🙂
@wildandfreevictoria that's going to be a great vlog to see 🤞🏻wishing you the best of luck with search & rescue of Wallace 🍀
I hope DJI has now supplied you with Wallace II or Gromit I ✌🏻
Sorry for your loss! You are a beautiful, lovely lady!!
Aw you are very kind! Thank you ☺️
Great shots Victoria 👏 I fly drones since over 10 years 😂 starting with the phantom 1 without monitoring 🙈 the Mini 4 pro is small and has definitely a good quality
Oh wow! That sounds like great fun! 😅
Absolutely wonderful! Thanks so very much! Sorry about the drone. That was wild!
Thank you! And it most certainly wad, I wouldn’t have it any other way ☺️✌🏻🏔️
@@wildandfreevictoria 🤣🤣🤣
Wow, sorry to hear that about your drone! Videos and photos that you did get looked amazing! There are so many restrictions on drones that I'm not too sure that I want one anymore! Were you shooting the drones photos in raw or jpeg???👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😱
Thank you very much for this! Yes there is a lot of restrictions which can make it a bit uneasy but once you learn them it is all ok 🙂
excellent😍
Great video. Subscribed 😉
Thank you so much! 🙂
Hi Victoria, happy New Year for you! Many Regards from Berlin, Ralf
Thank you and a very happy new year to you as well 🙂🏔️❄️
A happy, healthy and prosperous New Year gorgeous
Thank you and same for you 🙂🙂
You can record the screen in real time! That would be a great footage with the eagle thief 😁
I agree! Unfortunately I didn’t have a lot of time to plan or prepare as it was unexpected but it would make some brilliant footage! 🙂
Enjoyed the pictures and video footage as always. Can't believe you lost your drone when you were really getting into using it. Real shame. All the best for 2025.
Thank you so much, it was a beautiful place to shoot in!! And no worries, I should be getting a replacement soon. 🙂
Wow , what a video . Isn’t there a giveaway of dji drones . I usually trek in beautiful mountains . Hard to get great views with phones. I wish I could have a drone
Beautiful shorts , i recently damaged my mini 3 pro, figuring out to repair out of my country , since no repair centre here....
Ah no! I hope you can get it fixed soon, that is a bit of a pain!
Beautiful shots thanks for sharing. The Glacier is pronounced Gore-ner-grat.
Haha thank you and yes I know how to pronounce it, I just kept forgetting the name as it is similar to a place I visited in Tanzania. Also the glacier is called Gorner Glacier not Gornergrat ✌🏻
Well done so wonderful and beautiful images. So sad for the stolen drone 😢. But in a way funny 😅
Thank you very much! And I agree, sometimes you just have to laugh about these things 😅😅
@ I do hope you will received a brand new one from DJI 🙏🏼
Stunning video and photos. Sorry about the drone theft.
I appreciate it a lot! Thank you! And you know what, it was worth it to share a funny story that I will remember for life! And i’ll get a replacement soon 🙂🫶🏻
Wonderful
Thank you 🙂🙂
Your Welcome
What brand is your sweatshirt? :)
Great.. Have a good night. Bow
Thank you ☺️
Any regulations for flying there?
I went up the Gornergrat many moons ago - it was so nice to see the same views all these years later.
have the M4P, and in some winds does the same in normal mode, if switch to sport it wont do that
Hope dji care sent you another drone (it is covered as a fly away drone).
Ah okie that is very interesting! I don’t know why it does it but it didn’t do it during filming which is odd, just when I flew it back to me. Who knows! 😅
And yes it does class as a “flyaway” but i’ll have to pay a fee for replacement, I think it was around £220
That was beautiful. Thank you. Sorry about the drone
Thank you and glad you enjoyed it! And it’s ok, i’ll replace it eventually but I appreciate the funny story behind it all 🙂⭐️
@ I have a Mavic Air 2 flymore combo I don't use, your more than welcome to have to keep you going .
That peak is just like movie opening from Paramount pictures :D
Sorry for Wallace , looks like eagles like flying frogs.
I saw a video that reccomends to use reflective tape on top of the drone against birds, not sure if it works.
Thanks for the info! i will try that with Wallace II 😅 and yes the Matterhorn does look very similar to it! 🙂
❤
☺️🏔️🇨🇭⭐️
Wow that is so messed up. I’ve heard of bird strikes but not just taking it out of the sky. Sorry to hear.
Some amazing footage of the mountains though.
Thank you so much! And no worries, it was a moment I will laugh over for the rest of my life and I should be getting a replacement soon. So all is ok 🙂
High alt., the air is thinner. Therefore, the drone works harder to push air under it for lift.
Yes thought it must be the air/altitude 🙂✌🏻
Wow Victoria
Beautiful shots.
Wish you all the best in 2025.
Do you know Toblerone chocolate?😋
Kind regards from Switzerland🤗😘
Thank you so much! And happy new year! You are very kind 🙂 I do know the Chocolate, was it that the Matterhorn used to be on the packaging but I am not too sure if it is anymore? 🙂
@
Yes, exactly, the Matterhorn is still on the packaging.☺️
Superb footage, in the event of birds always put the drone into sport mode and go directly up if possible, birds cannot go straight up without circling to gain height.
Birds will attack drones unfortunately.
Thank you so much! And that is some great advice I will try to remember it for next time. Unfortunately it all happened so quickly that I didn’t even have time to think, I also think the drone got damaged after the first strike because it seemed very very slow. I don’t blame the bird either, understandable it thought it was prey, especially the mini being so small, such is life ey! But I will remember this tip and thank you 🙂
That is what I was telling her, rapid climb. Hopefully, the Eagle will lose interest.
I couldn’t, it literally happened so quickly, no matter what I did the eagle had got it, it’s an eagle after all, master of the skies
Nice reveal of the Matterhorn at Timestamp7:50.
Thank you very much! It’s fun flying and figuring out the tilting etc. Hopefully i’ll get a replacement soon and can practice more 🙂
@@wildandfreevictoria I'm sorry to hear that a huge bird stole your drone.
Fantastic pictures and videos. Too bad you lost the drone.
Thank you so much! And it’s ok, it’s become a funny story and I can get it replaced 🙂
Red Kites like to steal stuff to decorate their nests. Maybe Eagles do this, also?
Oooo I love this 🥹 if that is the case then i’m happy the eagle stole it as it deserves nice decorations in it’s home ☺️🫶🏻
cute dog
Thank you, he is a sweet pup 🙂
You are just gorgeous I must say and I like your comments
Aw this is very sweet, Thank you very much 🙂✌🏻
Hope the eagle is OK
Yup, I said in the video it was absolutely fine ✌🏻🙂

That's such a shame about the drone. Hope the insurance covers it.
Thank you and it is what it is I guess. I can get a replacement through my DJI plan but i’ll have to pay a “Flyaway” fee unfortunately but it’s better than nothing
@@wildandfreevictoria At least you can replace it.
I'll certainly never see Golden Eagles in the same way again.
@@wildandfreevictoria Was it still recording/transmitting while being taken away?
No idea, it’s not what I was checking or thinking about at that moment in time
Precioso video, tremendas imágenes. Eres realmente preciosa Victoria 😘😘😘
