Your video is a great reminder of the value of patience and perseverance. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow and harvest melons and oranges, but the end result is so worth it. And the fact that you're able to make a living by selling them at the market is even more impressive. Keep up the great work! And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
I remember when eight row corn headers came out. We thought those were unbelievably big. Seeing that twenty-four row beast is astonishing. Thanks for this video!
When I was young my neighbor have a three row corn head and went to a 6 row and it seemed so big. It’s amazing how machinery is changed in the past 50 years.
Enjoyed the video. My son and I run a 1688 and a 1440 IH. I love the 1440 as it is a really simple machine. I've worked at repairing all kinds and love the IH rotaries for their simplicity.

Hi we recently did some equipment upgrading and are going to be running a new 420 cvx and new precision track 24 row planter. Also for sidedress this year we are going to be running that 420cvx on a 60ft 3 point NH3 bar. that last part is a little different and thought it might be something different youd like to see if not no big deal just thought id check. Man that was some green W Wheat there, the unloading augers that bend are quite an expense but handy when storing the combine and in Europe it’s necessary now that the headers are huge that unload auger hangs away out there behind but when you turn boy can you cause damage 😳
That is the great advantage of a stripper. When the wheat stem is green but the grain is ready you can harvest. That is a big advantage here in Kentucky where soybeans are planted as a second crop after wheat. A nice thing about the folding auger is also opening fields. You can keep it folded and not having to worry about backing into a tree while opining corners.
I'm thinking about actually be at the half century event with my Volvo tractor next year. I first have to make sure to make it run as smooth as wool. It's some minor things on it that needs to be fixed but it will hopefully go out on an American tour with me from Sweden

Another great video as always, love your channel and follow it constantly. Congratulations for the very near 200k subscribers. Keep up the excellent work and Shalom from Israel :)
It's a regional thing. With most fields in central to northern WI being 60-80 acres some even less, road transportation really comes into play. So a 12 row folding is a good fit. And trust me, in 225+ corn you can still slam out 5500bu a hour.
I don’t even know. I buy a new external hard drive each year to catalog filming seasons in one block by year. I have 10 so far. I have a huge archive that I can pull from to make good combo stories like this.
Since Gleaner has the cleanest sample, the best fuel economy, the lightest machine and quietest engine, wouldn't that make it the best combine on the market?
They plant a second crop of soybeans into the tall straw. It serves as a mulch to hold water and surpasses weeds. This video explains the stripper head and the planting @ ua-cam.com/video/IEBEZT5FLLM/v-deo.html
Another great video! I'm glad to see that Fendt has cab corn too. Or maybe it was Zach Johnson driving #MillennialFarmer. On a serious note - would you consider making a video that explains the different combine classes and how a farm determines what hp they need?
I can make a classification video. It’s mainly based on hp of the combine. You can see in this video some class 6 combines like the Gleaner S96 has 390 bu while a class 9 like the Deere s790 is 400 bu. The key difference is the s96 is 322 hp where the S790 is 543 hp. That means more acres covered faster and unloading faster.
The corn is ready. The fungicide applied in July keeps the plants green. This works out well because there is lest dust and leaves building up. They are also harvesting in 90 degree weather so drying costs are low.
What does the stripper header do differently from a normal header? I understand obviously it seems to strip the grain off the stalk or whatever but does it work like a vacuum instead of cutting the grain near the ground? Why is that better/worse? How does the re planting after get affected leaving more in/on the ground? Sorry for all the questions I'm just curious its interesting lol. Thanks in advance
It would be helpful if you listed their class alongside their horsepower and other specs. I am familiar with the Gleaner classification but not Case IH and the rest
First off you make some great entertaining and informative videos. 2nd I’d like to know if the amber lights turn on/off automatically when the bing gets to the appropriate level of fullness and 3rd what is difference of a stripper head compared to a rotary head
BTP, do you know if there is any 30 inch cornheads in development that are bigger than 16 row? 18 or 20 row 30 inch? Im asking, as next years combines are now pushing 800 hp, and i imagine more are to follow :)
I hope you have a breathing apparatus BTP when there is these dusty conditions, I'd hate you having to make a video announcing you have severe respiratory/lung problems.
Typically a bushel to the acre is lost I believe on most combines. It depends on conditions and settings. The newest 2021 combines auto adjust as they go saving more grain.
Harvesting it. It was a 20% moisture. Today’s fungicides keep plant greener longer. Green stalks feed better and cause less debris build up on the feeder house. Winter wheat follows this corn so they start harvesting in mid August.

7:40 A Valtra! I wonder, is that the first Valtra to be seen on your channel, or have you encountered and filmed them before?
This is an 8940. I have filmed an 8950 Valtra in a two videos here on the channel. One time seeding soybeans and another time on a corn planter.
That Fendt is something else! Why only a 12 row head on such a big machine? Great videos! 😁
No doubt a 16 row is a good fit for s 9T. Drago and Geringhoff build 18 30s which which would be cool to see on a 9T.

I can make a classification video. It’s mainly based on hp of the combine. I'll never understand why they combine corn when its half green. The moisture has to be 23 or better. Why not wait a couple weeks and save drying?
Two reasons. Winter wheat follows the corn so they need to have harvested so they can fertilize and disk the ground and have it ready to seed by October 10 . The leaves are primarily green because the plants are sprayed with fungicide to strengthen their stocks and leaves from fungus over the summer and that keeps them greener longer into the fall.

Why they harvest the corn while is still green?
The grain is ready running about 20% moisture. All the corn is followed by winter wheat so they harvest in mid August because the corn was planted in Mid March. The corn has to go to make way for wheat so the wheat can be harvested in early June to make way for a second crop of soybeans to no till in the wheat stubble and to be harvested in October.
