Nice to see Keven back. His jubilance was missed. Welcome back, bud.
Big ole facters there bud
Aint no way we have the same name
Solid bowling video. Really liked the vibe, Boog seems goated and I feel like the world needs more of him. It was the knee bop @13:40
*Ive been getting paid like crazy for the views on my content. Love it!*
Seriously needed this video. Got discouraged recently from becoming an amateur. Even after my first certified 300, someone had to purposely kill my mood and make me feel like it wasn't possible.
Haters gonna hate…
Just smile at them. Makes them wonder what you have been up to.😀
It's possible. It's all upto you and your dedication.
When I finally realized bowling is 90 percent from the neck up I started bowling much more consistent. Rather than getting angry or down I stay positive by taking it one frame at a time and making quality shots. Let the chips ( pins ) fall where they may. Build confidence and momentum. Watch your ball reaction and adjust.
Good luck and good bowling.
Forget them naysayers. Go get it! I need bowling friends from Green Bay.
I use the half board move on the approach too. If I leave a soft 10 pin, a half board to the right on the approach. If I leave a solid 4 pin I'll move a half board to the left. A solid 7 pin I might not move. As the game progresses I may need to make anywhere from a half a board to several boards. It can make the difference between a 2 teen game or a 240 plus game.
Nice video guys. You looked great out there.
I'm just glad keven is back
@7:50 "Don't money count..." 👍
I never follow my brackets or pots while I'm bowling. It just adds unneccesary stress. Often I'll walk out after bowling & won't even check to see if I won anything, then later I'll get a text saying "Jeff, you left $X behind...there's an envelope for you at the front desk." 🤣
I bowl at Aarons on league night. Great to have you in the area Keven. It's a common occurance for those stone 8 and 9 pins to pop up...frequently. I know your pain.
This was a good video. One of the best I've seen on this channel. Also Boog is the man in 2024!
13:38 that leg action tho 🤣
Boog and Kev keep kicking butt on the tour and win a few titles each this year
I lost it when he started watching the FIFA final, "get off the approach Boog" 😂😂😂
Good bowling fellas! I also like your sample track at the end of the vid. Sounds good.🤙🏿🤙🏿🤙🏿💯
If I had 2400 to put into a tournament, I wouldn’t need to bowl a tournament haha
Exactly what I'm thinkin....
it's prolly from other tournaments, a fund they set aside each time.
@bobbunker7153 ^ this. Exactly this^^^
What you said is exactly why you don't have 2400 lol
@@adanomics5997 that makes zero sense but ok
You made me very hopeful for my bowling future.. My grind in 2023 is going to set up my 2024. ❤️🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Could you break that down from entry cost/prize money versus side action cost/profit?
You are the man Kev! Love the music too, keep it up!
You put the work in and trust that you can score, the money will come to you. There are plenty enough big amateur events that offer good money in prize funds. It's definitely possible.
5:09 - I make half-board moves all the time, quite successfully. I tried taking the whole-board move advice, before, with disastrous results. If you're missing just a tad heavy or light, adjust a half-board. It'll save your game.
Half board moves are where it’s at!
Whaaaaa! I do half-board and even quarter board moves all the time when I'm throwing urethane
Depends where u live (distance for tournaments and League)
Wait I bowl league there on Wednesdays! I was so confused at first but then I saw the Avila sign on the wall and new exactly where you were😂
I don’t know if you’re an amateur anymore, Keven!
Talk to Greg Black Jr in Atlanta and AJ Rice from Columbus and about 10 people in the Georgia area that bowl amateur tournaments for a living.
Keven's release is like the Ken Griffey Jr. swing of bowling. So damn pretty.
Better than Packy?
Looks awkward
During my UBA events I usually do 60 brackets, Game pots, Eliminator, game 3 winner take all, high series which comes out to $350 outta pocket. Usually I’ll walk out on the norm with $1500 but best day I had was winning everything shooting 830 for 3 games and walked out with $3k. Always a crap shoot but always worth the gamble
@BradandKyle754 sounds good search me. Name is Bryan Rhatigan 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm bowling a junior gold event on the 29th and it would make me much more confident if you liked or replied to this comment.
wishing you all the best! crush those lanes!
Fun video, thanks
VERY WELL DONE GUYS!!!
Boog lofting the gutter cap and ripping the rack😁
Question from a 50 yo.
Carried a 225 avg for years as a youth up until 20yo and have played some since, but equip was lost in a move so now use house equip and still regularly bowl 180’s - 210 without much effort.
Thinking of jumping back in and practicing 3-4 days a week. Would it be worth it to do so, even to make a little cash along the way? Thanks!
man this my Favrot place. I bowl league there every Wednesday!!!
Yet when we take first in league and pocket like 400 a piece, I called that a W. At least it paid for all the nights in league, now if only I could find a way for them to pay for my beer. That's the real cost of bowling league. xD
Li thought that was Aaron’s. One of my favorite places to bowl
5:57 Now that is a shot.
hope u all have happy holidays, looking forward to some pba stuff soon. LETS GOOOOO HOUSE!!!!💯💯💯💪💪💪
Let’s goo!!
Cool idea for video !
Im a bowler here in Utah and I have bowled 4 tournament in the last month and a half and I'm up money in tournaments I bowled Abt here in Utah at jack and jills American fork and won fee for entry and mega pot was 85 won 875 after that I went to nationals in Las Vegas bowled two sets and put in for brackets fee for both sets and brackets was 220 didn't make it finals but was on the cut for both sets and won some brackets came home with 260 next was Abt bonwood in salt lake fee was 85 and left with 0 next was CUTBA in Moab fee 110 won that one came home with 1110 bucks so over all I'm up money with my journey so far
Nice bowling!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Yo this Aarons in Belton MO? That's where I bowl league!
What bowling balls were thrown in this video?
how many tournaments are you getting to a month as an amateur?
My problem is showing up at a “amateur” tournament and have four or more touring pros show up and snag the cash.
Absolutely awesome video! You're right if you put in the work you can make a decent living. They all have ups and downs, but it certainly is possible. More so fun to watch!
It's better to view the wage as "how much did you make this week" and then divide that by the typical 40 hours to get your pseudo hourly wage.
Great vid
this is a really nice house.
Song sounded cool what I heard of it
Id like to see you guys throw a shot at the same time. You both have very similar form just opposite handedness, it would be almost like it a mirror
😂😂 that they do!
So what's the technical in's & out's of maintaining an amateur status Keven?
Dude looks like he’s throwing a 7 pound ball with his release. He manhandles that shit. 😂
Keven, how's your wrist? Are you bowling Team U.S.A. trials in Vegas in January?
Keven and I are bowling snowman doubles in Oklahoma instead!
Nice video. Small caveat : you need to be some of the best regional players to be able to consistently make a decent living though...
I'd love to go bowling with you guys
We bowled with a guy at IL state who said he cleared $65k the last year from tournaments. I mean, I guess if you're that guy who can always pure the ball and rarely misses you can make money, unlike us mere mortals
Or just lie.
Without being a pro it would be extremely hard to clear 65k profit there are probably only abour 5-10 in the US who can do that
Idk back 15-20 years ago. I know people would travel up to to Detroit just for brackets during league nights and walk out with a couple bands
@@lucidplaysz5698 Yep I used to win a lot of brackets 20yrs ago and that helped us pay our bills winning brackets 5-6 nights a week. Those same people are still bowling and I'm just barely bowling. They're trying to pot bowl and I'm like naw, I bowl for fun now I work for my money...and I make much more than 65k working. And for those trying to make 65k bowling it's very hard against very good bowlers trying their best.
I love the videos!!!!!!
you also gotta be really good as an amateur!
You have to be amazing to make a living doing it! lots of practice and hard work!
Was it a house shot? And whats the light blue ball (looks pearlized) that you were both throwing towards the end of the video that hooks a ridiculous amount
I would assume it was not a house shot (especially with that much money for entry), either a challenge or sport pattern most likely. Also, I am not an EBI guy, but I believe the bright blue ball was the Power Torq or Power Torq Pearl. Hope this helped, have a great day. :)
dam boog needs like 4 lane courtesy , walk it out baby!!!!🤣🤣🤣
not many "pro's" can make a living bowling
So true
Exactly. That's why they're doing UA-cam with it.
When I bowled regionals unless you were in the top 8 every week you barely made anything. I had a full time job that help me support me bowling regionals. But I never bowled regionals for the money. I just loved the competition.
That's why they get sponsorships to pay for the equipment/travel/boarding/entry fee. Then the winning will be more true. It's much harder for the non pro bowler to get this so you'll find it had to make consistent money(aka all the expenses).
Very true. I remember listening to a video with Anthony simonsen and ej Tackett and they were saying that on tour there are plenty of bowlers who have nothing when they don’t make cuts
Great day! Your 2 messengers u both threw around 11:45 in were sick! What's your partner's name, Kev? Thanks & Happy Holidays to u both
Partners name is boog krol
@@TheHouseBowling Kyle his real name? I knew he looked familiar as I'm pretty sure I've seen him at tourneys here in IL
When you guys walk across lanes after a shot. Are you allowed to do that or not really?
Around here, bowling Saturday thru Thursday, if a guy/gal won top prize in everything, he/she could easily take home $1800 a week. But nobody is perfect.
All those 8’s and 9’s are telling me half board differences 😉
Is that blue ball a power torque?
Power torq pearl!
Belton Missouri...?
didn't know they had a bowling alley?
what is the name of the house?
Aaron’s family fun center 😁
@@TheHouseBowling thanks
More 💰 in catchy tunes me thinks
Kevin looks like the "Hey Yo Cheetah" guy.
what did you each average?
The House needs to come to Okinawa for a couple weeks....
That would be awesome!
I didn't know Rand Paul was an amateur bowler
Best tourney I bowled I made 4 times as much on brackets as the tourney as I lost 1st game of matchplay.
Well if it’s about making a living then you’d be all set 😂😂
From a Pro aspect, Belmo is prob the only guy who makes a living with what he makes on and off the lanes regarding all things bowling related. Meaning like does he have a job off the lanes? He can just travel the world and get paid for Demos over and over. Especially in Asia.
Disagree, there are probably 25-50 guys who make a living on and off the lanes
Cool tech bowling bowlling the house bowling packy
I won $80 yesterday😂…making a living off bowling is a tough career
You bowled much better than the average house bowler like me
Lot of practice 😁😂
I’m actually comfortable moving half boards
My dad didn't make a living but in his prime he was bringing home $1000 or less a weak but he bowled 3-4 days a week got into every pot and lost a lot to handicap he avg. 240 now in the hall of Fame at Royal Scott golf & bowl in Lansing,mi due to be entered into the mason lanes hall Fame now called city limits
That’s awesome!! And some decent money 💰💰
Why does Marc Hen look so angry…? Lol
What's wrong with 2 1/2 boards? That's half way to the next dot yo!
I guess there’s no certain way you have to roll it, but that just looks so unnatural compared to a strong one handed hook. It must be easier that way. Whatever works to get the win.
Grey shirt is automatic with the loft throws
Focus is your bowling. That's how you make money.
The key is to sneak into a major and win it all for 100 grand.
Keven sounds like secret santa from Idaho
One can "make a living" doing practically anything, as long as eating and paying bills aren't very high on your list of priorities...🤣
I believe you can make a decent living but only if you have the funds to max out on the sad action…. Not including some of the top amateur ones that have theirs funds being backed so it’s free money and less stress
I don't know any amateur that makes 50k a year bowling.
Prize money is much lower then it used to be.
@@wayneadler3451 lol says who?
Rudy K won the 1992 Super Hoinke Classic in 1992 for 100k, the runner up got 50k. Don’t think there are many tournaments like that today.
If you are just looking at all sources of income, it's almost impossible. If everything is done properly, you now have to tax that money made for the day. You have to take other factors in, like food, housing, and medical insurance. This is just the start if you do not have a family or kids.
So many bowlers I have seen try to chase the dream, and at the end of the day, they have nothing to their name.
Boog is legit.
This might be a stretch but I think tops 75 people in the world can make a living bowling.
Depends what your living expenses are and what you need to make to “live”
That's awesome to watch. The stuff you guys are doing is my goal. I want my weekends to be bowling tournaments haha. I can't wait to get into brackets like that and meet people along the way 🤘🤘
Start slow and view it as a learning process!
One more thing to add to the houses comment. Never take it like a job. You enjoy it and keep enjoying it. Alot of people quit enjoying it and quit. I would give anything to bowl even league right now. Family and job get in the way
@@TheHouseBowling I have a coach to help out, I'm getting an arsenal together and can't wait to get out there just to see what fun I can have doing this. Thanks for the content and trust me, Ik I'm gonna be donating to a few pots for a while. Still can't wait to bowl more competitively and see where I end up haha. Thanks for the advice.
@@TheHouseBowling excellent advice. Feel it out for the first few tournaments. Dont go ball out right away. Listen to these guys. They are spot on.
What balls were used in the video?
music-speaking mix was rough. Have to turn it down to everytime the loud ass music comes on lol
Closer and closer to that 90k!
Closing in!
How does keven consider himself an amateur, or does he
No… but I think ‘Boog’ his partner is an amateur and it was an amateur event (obviously allowed cardholders to bowl it). Professional events are finally shelling out more money.
If I know I'm in it I don't even want to look at the scores at all..
Ya: the right answer to that is no you cannot make a good living at bowling, nor will you ever. Gambling is not a good thing ever especially gambling at bowling. No you cannot make a good living nor will you ever. Talking from experience. It's a true waste of money. Although if your not spending much money in open bowling than it is okay to waste a few bucks.
Gambling? They're not rolling dice here. It's a game of skill. That's like saying pro golfers are gambling every week...
Its a game of skill, you can make a living bowling and you can make a living amateur bowling, much harder to do on the amateur side of it!
If your name is AJ Rice you do just fine.
Agreed!
Was this a handicap tournament?
scratch
Sure it’s called living with your parents 😅
wait so you had to spend $2400 just to bowl in the event? an explanation of how well one has to perform to atleast make your money back would be helpful. as well as the minimum and maximum potential earnings for the event. $2400 is a huge risk for most people
Yea but it was split between both of them. 1200 a guy. I would like to see how many brackets they got in though.
Yea and not everyone makes that risk your average bowler would make the risk of maybe 200 not 1200 per guy!
I'm informing the IRS
By the time you deduct all expenses, you don't pay much tax.
Expenses are prett high if you get 62.5 cents to the gallon and you drive 500 miles round trip then stay in a hotel and pay for food etc still have to pay some tax but not nearly as much!
@@TheHouseBowling I was joking. Lets face it. You bowl for the love of the sport. If you were concerned about making good money, you would take up golf.
