  • Note- I misspoke at about 5min, 15 seconds. I said that to make the water hotter, I open open the cold water valve more. obviously I meant to say that I close the cold water a bit and should've turned it counter-clockwise in my case.
The Forest River Ibex series comes with a showermiser valve pre-installed. I really like this feature and put this video together illustrating how I utilize it, especially when boondocking.
It's possible to retrofit the showermiser into an RV but can certainly be a project due to the need to run an additional pipe over to the freshwater tank as well as gaining access to the area behind the shower valves.

Thank you so much. I have spent far too much time looking for information on showermiser valve handle positions. I just wanted someone to confirm the "off" position for me. lol. Excellent video, thank you again

Why do they even have an “Off” (in the middle) setting on it? It should either be all the way up (on) or all the down (off) very confusing

Hey Kirk, it's Garrett from the FB Ibex forum. I was looking at your shower head on Amazon and the comments state that it's a plastic shower line and you say stainless. Did you purchase a separate flex line? Would love to do this upgrade for the upcoming season.

What are the 2 wire things going across the shower?

Have one. ABSOLUTELY HATE IT. First, it never worked correctly in my trailer. Also, What no one tells you is that YOU MUST Winterize a plumbing system with a ShowerMeiser with compressed air. My dealer didn't mention it, my manual didn't mention it. After Winterizing with RV anti-freeze, I de-winterized and couldn't get water pressure. After over 15 hours of troubleshooting I found a crack in the showermeiser elbow. I've had to by-pass it and that in itself makes winterizing more difficult.

good idea on labeling them, i really need to do that. every time i use my shower i waste water trying to remember what way is what haha, did you have to find some kind of water proof labels or something?

I have the Brother PT-1880 Advanced Deluxe Labeler and it just prints out labels with a clear coating that is waterproof. Works great!

This is still very confusing. If you don't want to use this with city water on how do you do that? We also flooded our tank off. The dealer didn't tell us about this. Now we are concerned about getting the under bay dried out so we don't have mold or rot. Seems like we're not the only ones who have this problem. We are not happy campers.

It should never flood your fresh water tank in the off position, something is wrong with how its installed or something. If it's in the off position it's like its not there and should never run water back into the freshwater tank

I leave my fresh water tank drain open when i do not have water in it, there have been a couple times where i forgot about the miser, but by leaving my tank open, water came out on the ground and reminded me before i overflowed the tank

Sorry, just seeing this now!! Assuming yours is like mine, you'd have the little bar (that you use to adjust the showermiser) facing down and then like The Johnny O Show said, you would effectively bypass the showermiser as if it wasn't even there.

The solution is to always use your water tank and onboard pump... NOT the city water connection. Just fill your fresh tank. You'll always have consistent pressure, and never worry about forgetting to turn off the city water when you leave your RV. AND... you'll never flood your storage bay again. Good habits make happy campers!!

My water was piping hot from the start and the pipe stayed blue. And regardless of the lever position the water poured out of the tub spout into the grey water tank or came out of the shower head like in a normal tub shower. Quite disappointing. I know I won’t be using this supposed “feature” ever. Because it doesn’t work!
