- knit some gloves :o) i did my best in this video to be as detailed as i could. i do not know the exact date of this pattern, but Weldon's began publishing their patterns in newsletters in 1885, so that's what i've gone with. happy to update it if i ever find a different date! i love these gloves. i love being able to create something from another time.

Thank you sweetie so much for your beautiful pattern and your hard work. I’m a 74 year old woman and I’m looking forward to making a few pairs for my friends and family. Just a little worry that I might get too many orders.❤😂
Thanks for the demo and instructions very clear, I will certainly be having a go at knitting these they look so elegant ❤
this is such a good idea!! id never seen anyone work with these kinda patterns before, the end result is also really really pretty!! itd be so interesting to see you work on these kind of "antique" pieces in the future!
Omg, those gloves made me decide to learn how to knit. Stunning!!!
that makes me so happy to hear! 🥹💗
Thank you so much, they are lovely. I love history, it is soo cool to wear something someone would have made and wore a century ago. 🥰❤️
Can you please make a full length video tutorial? What you are saying isn’t making very much sense.
This is such a lifesaver! I’m in the process of doing a Sweeney Todd cosplay and this helped so much ty!
oh i adore sweeney todd! that's wonderful!
Thank you for making this available so that we can see how to!! ❤❤
I’m newish to knitting and I really want to make these but this confused me so much I’m not sure if I’d be able to. 💔
Loved these. The gloves/mitts look absolutely Victorian. Enjoyed the video. Thanks!
I've been wanting to make a pair of mittens but I didn't want to do the thumb separated from the mittens so this is like the perfect pattern. I found it pretty easy to understand and I wrote everything down. It's the best way to remember something. I'm going to try to find these colors brown and blue and make some of these gloves that would be really nice. I could learn the herringbone stitch. I've seen that on UA-cam so maybe to keep it more authentic or genuine to the pattern I can put those stitches in there.
These are literally adorable
These are absolutely lovely. Thank you for modernizing the pattern ❤.
This is a beautiful pattern, could you please give the circumference and height of the glove 💗
Cool, going to make, its like they wee smarter back then, much smarter. We have people today that knit a square and try to sell it as a pattern.
If you find any more patterns like this I'd really like to know from the 1800s cuz I really like to make it like something easy like gloves or whatever
Can an absolute beginner do this well? I want to try but idk if I should attempt this first or if it'll be somewhat frustrating
lmk if u try
perhaps advanced beginner! it's a simple pattern but knowing the terms and such already is helpful! luckily these are knit flat which i think is easier for beginners than knitting gloves in the round :)
I love these, but I'm really confused about what happens after we do the increase to 68 stitches and then do the 20 normal stitches :')
Which colour did you use for the whole body? Will black do or will it he too dark?
i used a dark brown! black is a lovely colour 😌🖤 you could make them all black, or you can make them with the accents and pick something to go along with the black :)
Beautiful ❤️
i love your makeup.
I'm new to knitting, do I need to use double pointed needles for this tutorial?
nope! i just find them more comfortable for smaller projects like this because the needles are shorter and don't get in the way, but you can use regular straight needles or circular needles! up to you, since these are knit flat :o)
2mm would be size 14
thank u so much
Lovely💕 Thank you!
@lorelei what yarn did you use
some fingering weight i had left over from previous projects! not sure what the brands were ♥️
@@loreleirose where did you purchase it and what is the weight
Thank you for sharing, you are so cute and beautiful!
