I've had one of these for years. Other than my tuner, it's the only pedal that has never left my pedal board since the day it arrived. I use it always on with the gain at about 9 o'clock, just like Charlie, and it just fattens up the sound nicely. I mainly play single coil guitars but it works will with my Les Paul Trad Pro too.
The thing about this pedal? It's magic. I'm finding that I love what it does to my signal so much that it's always on, forcing me to check out an actual 'boost' 😅
@@Learnguitarwithcharlie Honestly, yeah. I don't need it, but like we always tell ourselves, it is better to have too much on tap than to not have enough..
Thank you for doing a review on this pedal! I've been looking for reviews for this pedal but it's been hard to find! I want this other than the Keeley Katana or Ep Booster!
Hi mate, it's a Carvin CT4, very similar to a PRS. I put this video together on it ages in case it's of interest: ua-cam.com/video/IL6Z3Ai75y4/v-deo.htmlsi=ELZu_EW0RS75WqH1
Sounds nice. I was thinking of buying one so I checked out this video. Sounds like just what I was looking for. My only question is,(as I can’t really tell from the video) when you increase the gain does it also increase the volume ? I’m just looking for a boost/ overdrive that I can control with my guitar volume. Liked the demo, have subscribed and looking forward to more 👍
Cheers Ian, glad you enjoyed it. Yes, with the one volume control it will boost the volume and the gain. It's a good option if you want to use the guitar's volume control to control your sound.
It does depend how you use it really, if you want to use it as an entirely clean boost then it can work well. Equally, you can drive it to get a bit of dirt if that's what you're after. I suppose like you would with a regular amp.
@@boimesa8190 I think, to be honest that if you're after driven sounds, you would be better with a dedicated drive pedal. This micro amp is good for boosting an existing signal but may not be the best solution if you're after overdriven sounds. I'm a big fan of the Fulltone Fulldrive or the Vertex pedals are really good at offering good amp-like overdriven tones. They may be worth a look instead.
The Frusciante pedal. I use this with my Marshall silver jubilee. It’s exact for that “can’t stop “ sound
Nice one, yeah I can imagine it works perfectly for that sort of sound.
That's why I bought it
Thanks for the comprehensive look. I have mine coming tomorrow
Nice tones! Loving the classic RnB riff @ :28 light n funky
Cheers Guy, appreciate that mate!

Cheers Dave, agreed - it's a great, common purpose pedal which does a good job of fattening up the sound!
I've always used mine at about 2oclock into a jcm 800 and it thickens the gain almost like a dual rec!
@@BathBombTheRussians Sounds like a great combo, a very versatile little pedal...!
Sounds great! Really lovely playing too!
Cheers Kieran, much appreciated mate, glad you enjoyed it!

Haha! Yeah any excuse for a new pedal eh?!

Cheers Tori, no problem glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, I'm keen to take a look at the EP Booster too and see how it compares.
That's a lovely guitar
Thank you! Hope you enjoy the pedal
Great pedal and great playing!!
You're very kind mate - thank you!
Grandpa rock sounds good!
Thanks mate, I agree!
Great playing a Chic tune it seems with a funky style ?
Hi Jean, yes - there's some reference to Chic in there somewhere!
Charlie-man what kind of guitar is that?

@@Learnguitarwithcharlie Thanks Charlie. Going to check out more of your videos. 👍
0:20 spinetta?
It's actually Boston's 'more than a feeling' !
How clean is it really?

@@Learnguitarwithcharlie What theres just one knob how would I be able to do both?

@@Learnguitarwithcharlie I don't want drive, I want the opposite
@@boimesa8190 for just a Clean boost, run it through the send & return. You get tons of Clean headroom & NO distortion.
I use this pedal for years and can t play whitout !!!
